Everybody knows about the ATCO Transmission Center in my area. Yes, they are expert mechanics. The ATCO brand (that they still use) has been around since the 60s. It's a big yellow building just north of Chandler Blvd on Laurel Canyon Blvd.I never, though, thought about the clientele of the place. One day, I'm going by, and...BIFF! - BAM! - BOOM!It's Batman! - or at least it's the Batmobile!Enjoy the pictures of this legendary car, just sitting on Laurel Canyon Bl, waiting for repair.PS: it is legally registered!

I'm trying to save an old van that was stolen and crashed after having most of the parts of the engine removed and replaced by Mobile mechanics there was still a lot of work to be done. I decided to try atco. I went there and all of his days were busy his parking lot was full and there were even cars parked on the street that he was working on. This place is busy because they are good! It took me almost 2 weeks to get in and the things he fixed he fixed perfectly. I'm in love with bob, the owner, who is very reasonable and not afraid of work and all his employees are busy and talented. I highly recommend this place. Good work reasonable fees, and they know what they're doing

I brought my car in as I noticed a coolant leak. I called ATCO and asked if I could drop it off to have them take a look. Danny agreed to allow me to bring it in same day. Called me first thing the next morning to let me know the issue, and I agreed to fix it. Called me later to pick it up and I come to find out he agreed to fix my car even without having an opening, but said it was an easy enough of a fix that he decided to go for it. Danny was very professional and personable. I was having issue with my car for 2 months back and forth at another mechanic and he got it in and out in a day. This place lives up to its reputation. Will for sure bring my car back in the future! Thanks ATCO and Danny!

Cannot say enough good things. I'm in the nearby neighborhood. These guys have given me jumps when my battery was dead, they've fixed my alternator, replaced my battery. All of the prices were super fair, and it's an incredible group of honest, folksy mechanics. Don't go to your dealership. Go here.

I d like to say thank you, Bob! My car is my first love and you brought her back to life lol. I took my car in due to an emissions code. My catalytic converter needed to be replaced. My car is a 2007 Saturn Sky and if you know anything about Saturns then you know they are no longer manufactured. So finding the part was sooooooo difficult. I took my care first to Firestone in which they told me nowhere in the country is there a catalytic converter for my car. I then took it to Bob in which he stated after a week he couldn t acquire the part however he did refer me to a site to see if they can locate the part. Immediately I looked and i was able to find two parts for my car. I informed Bob who then verified the parts work for my car. I took my car in for repair after waiting a day to get the part and Bob finished my repairs on the same day. My check engine light is off! I am sooo great full to have found this shop. Bob is an actual real life "Honest Mechanic" .. He will let you know when something needs to be replaced now or if it can wait. I have taken my car to other mechanics who tried to upsell me repairs I didn't really need. Bob does not do that. He will make recommendations and let you know how urgent they are. His team is highly professional and friendly. Definitively recommend and have already been telling my friends to take their car there for the BEST service!

BOB is friendly, flexible and knows exactly what he s doing! Dropped my car off there on a Friday - picked it up in a week! He s so kind. Pricing is very reasonable and his work is impeccable. Honestly best autoshop I ve been to in LA :)

Highly recommend this place! Very honest and trustworthy! I brought my car in after the Toyota dealership and another shop told me I needed to fix an oil leak that would cost me around $2,500. When I brought it to Atco, they thoroughly checked it out and told me that my car didn't even need that! The other shops didn't even bother to really check out my car. Definitely will bring my car back for any and all repairs!

I brought my car in to get an oil change and to get it smogged. I left my car there. Three or four days later I called to see if it was done. At that time the manager said my car was leaking all over his parking lot. I sd that's really strange .I would have seen it leaking if it was leaking. He sd he would have Bob call me a few days later he called and sd I needed all this wrk done on my car at a whopping cost of $2200.00. I choose not do that just get the oil changed but he let me drive my car off the lot with no water at all in the car. He should of told me there was no water in it at all I could of blown my engine with no water in it.im very unfortunate happy by the way I was treated.a good mevhanis would never of let that car be driven.

So far so good.Showed up mid Saturday without appointment, Bob got it up on a lift. His guy diagnosed (manifold) gave fair price, boom booked. left it for Monday pickup

Excellent Service. Took my truck in for a transmission rebuild. Three days later, Bob called and told me it was ready. Easy as that. Go see these boys. Highly recommended

Worst experience I have ever had with car ripair. I took my toyota sienna with a small oil leak to ATCO transaction shop .Bob sed that he can seal the transaction for $ 850 .I have got my car at. 5 pm next day when the shop was going to close and couldn't get home because transaction wasn't shifting at all.please don't repeat my mistake

In my opinion Atco transmission is the only real legitimate hot rod shop in Van nuys it's a secret but if you have the cabbage you can get anything you need fixed maintained or replaced if you lucky you may have the one of the veteran technicians that specialize in custom Lowriders or antique vehicles Schedule work on your special custom if your patient the best wrenches go to work on your sweetheart and it comes back like it has been reborn Fabrications retros repairs on stock or customs.... import or domestic...... I have four custom pre-19 58 vehicles and I can trust Atco more than any other shop to get the job done efficiently and expeditiously Legitimately mastered and highly skilled technicians make ATCO transmission the best transmission shop West of Detroit .. Ask for Bob

I brought my Lexus RX300 to fix the shaking between 2nd and 3rd gear.Was told its not the comuterbut the transmission needed to be rebuilt completely for $ 2,400.00. Got the car back hours later same problem.I brought the car back 7 times and every time he blamed the computer.I went to Lexus of Van Nuys to have them diagnose the car for $ 130.00.Their report: the computer is O.K. car has a hydraulic problem and recommend replacing the transmission.Went back to Atco with that report,they still deny that any thing is wrong with the trany and blame the computer.So I went to LEON"S Transmission GREAT PEOPLE ,they took the trany apart fixed it,saved all the parts and wrote a report of all the wrongs done by Atco.I had to pay another $ 3,000.00 and $ 130.00 car rental.Been driving the car for a month PROBLEM IS GONE.I have hard evidence he did not rebuilt the trany correctly.He cost me a lot of grieve and money.I am taking them to SMALL CLAIMS COURT.

These guys are a lame excuse of mechanics poor service they know nothing about cars.the popped up 3 codes they supposedly fixed them but the same puttering kept going on but not as frequent it ran for less than a week then broke down .I gave these guys my hard earned money but for nothing.these guys are crooks stay far away from this place..
