The alternator in my minivan broke on Highway 20 while returning home from a camping trip on the coast. My car literally died as I pulled into the shop's parking lot. I called the emergency number on the door and they told me to leave the car, my keys, and a phone number. Within days, my alternator was fixed, I had a new battery, and a leaking CV boot was replaced. The total cost was less than I expected and more than reasonable for the service they provided. The owners, John and James Jean (father/son), are professional, kind, and a true pleasure to do business with. If I lived near Clearlake then this would be the only automotive repair shop that would get my business - hands down!

DO NOT COME HERE FOR CAR AUDIO INSTALLS. THEY DO NOT HAVE ANYONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING.I got my wife a pioneer head unit for her birthday and had this place install it. Big mistake. I had them hook up steering wheel controls as well as and a microphone. They charged me ~$250. I provided all the parts except the microphone.When we got the car back, the head was not installed flush, so when you tried to eject a CD, it got stuck and was unable to do so. The microphone was not attached to anything and was basically dangling from its cord out of a panel; no one could hear me when I tried to call hands free. The panel was also left very loose and popper out constantly. The USB connection was coming out underneath the glove compartment and lay on the floor of the passage side of the car.There was also a noise, kind of like a white noise in the background of anything you tried to listen to.So, I brought the car back, the "tech", James, fixed the CD ejection problem, and claimed it was a problem due to the part I bought. The kit I bought was very standard and made specifically for my car, but he is the "tech" so I gave him benefit of the doubt. He filed the plastic housing down and got it to fit. Honestly, even though he is not the best tech, James seemed to be a pretty nice guy.The rest of the issues remained unfixed, but we really didn't want to bring the car back a third time.After driving around with the head unit for some time, the background noise became more and more annoying. It started giving both of us headaches and we found ourselves disconnecting the front plate and driving in silence to avoid the issue.Some time later, i had to borrow wife's car for a few days while mine was in the shop. The noise and poor microphone install really got to me. So I called back and told them how I felt. They transfered me over to James, who told me I could bring the car back in and he would take a look. Again, James has been a nice guy throughout the experience.This time, I brought the car in, he secured the microphone into a decent spot, which i appreciate. He also fixed the panel he left loose. Definitely appreciate that.I told him that according to Crutchfield, it sounds like the stereo is not grounded properly, causing a noise. He replied, that that car stereo wouldn't work at all if it wasn't grounded properly.He told me that I would need to buy some sort of filter in order to get rid of the noise, but didn't have it in stock. He suggested, "why not turn the source off" to avoid hearing the noise. This is hardly a fix, since i want to be able to use the stereo.When I came to pick the car up, I figured we would make another appointment to fix the noise. Some other guy, not James, came out and gave me the keys outside. Apparently James was too busy for me to talk to him. OK, no problem, I figured that I could call back later to make the appointment.The next day, I called and was put on the phone with the same guy who brought the keys to me. I explained that there was still a very irritating noise. He asked if I wanted to schedule the car to be looked at again. I told him, James has already looked at the car, and I would rather bring it back when he has the parts needed to fix it.Whoever this other guy is, he got very defensive. Told me to "Shut up" repeatedly and that they were "doing a service for the community", and I am some menace that is never happy.I would have been happy if the stereo was installed properly.He scheduled me for an appointment, but almost threatened me at the same time. He yelled, "you're making enemies here already before you get here". I am caught off guard by this response, and immediately decide I am not going to bring my car back here again.I scheduled an appointment DFM Audio in Lakeport. Told them the situation, brought my car in, and they figure out the issue within 30 min. Wouldn't you know it, it wasn't grounded properly.Now I am finally happy with the stereo install... But I wish I went to DFM to begin with.

Turned a simple install into a blown head unit n made an awful story up to not take blame or reimburse. Totally unprofessional amateurs.
