I made a reservation for a $29.95 smog test at Sunnyvale Auto Care, the station that hosts this smog check. Arrived on time only to find out the tech was at lunch and I was 2nd in line. Told I had used "old web site,: they had no record of my reservation. Then when they took my paperwork and saw that I required STAR certified test, the price went up to $39.95. Out the door was $48.20, probably typical for this service.Other than that, and a longer than expected wait, the test was done properly and I was on my way.

Website in the description says smog check price: $29.75. At the shop they charge $69 and about $9 per certification.P.S. Check out Groupon to find a $30 deal nearby.

***NOTE: Not open Sundays, despite online and on-location signage***I was really pleased to see an easy-to-use online booking system on their website, so I made a Sunday appointment for my Smog Check. (The website not only listed Sundays in their hours, it also had Sunday Smog Check times lots available during booking.) I got a confirmation email shortly after, noting the time, date, and nature of the appointment. Lucky for me something came up a few days later and I needed to change my appointment, because when I called the guy said there was no way I could have a Sunday appointment because they aren't open Sundays. Plus he said they don't take appointments for Smog Checks at all, just come in. I went in and they have a huge banner out front that says OPEN SUNDAYS. I asked again and he said, nope we're closed Sundays (while standing almost directly under the sign).The Smog Check was quick but don't try going on a Sunday and probably avoid online booking entirely. Who knows where your appointment ends up.I see another review here from over a year ago that had the same issue with making an appointment online, so it's not a new problem. They haven't updated their website, their booking system, or bothered to take the banner down from out front - so maybe details aren't their thing.Services: Smog certification, Emissions testing

Went in for smog check and exactly as advertised. Walked in and quickly tested my vehicle, gave me needed smog certificate and gave me discounted price advertised once I showed them the ad on my phone. Professional, friendly, and efficient. Thank you!!

I saw the ad on the internet for Smog Test. Website does allow to make reservation, which I did. Couple of hours before the appointment time, I called to confirm. I was told that appointments are not for smog test. Also, the website says that you don't need to bring the coupon, just mention it. Was told on the phone to bring the coupon. Wanted to know how much it would cost extra for minivan. Was told to look up on the website, although it would have taken only 1 second to utter the price.I felt being discouraged from going to this place. I complied and went somewhere else.

By far the best priced smog I ve ever seen. No sneaky hidden fees. Came as a walk in and was done in 15 minutes. Also asked where I could top up on air after and they personally checked and aired up all my tires for free. Definitely recommend theses guys

Zero stars if I could. Went for a smog check and they said it would cost $120 extra because "the engine was in the back".And then, the best part, after he said it would be $120 extra because the engine is in the back, he turned to the other mechanic in the service area and said, yo, the engine is in the back on this, right? Went two blocks down the street to Quiksmog and got it done with no fuss, under 15 minutes.Stay away from these idiots.

After they told me that the price was going to be over $80.00 since they had to use the dyno. It then took over an hour as the computer kept crashing and they couldn't finish the job. As I was going to leave I had to have them replace the covers under the dash for the diagnostic instrument. The manager just shrugged and said tough break or I could wait another hour while they rerun the test. I went around the corner to the Mobil Station (also Star certified) and was done in 15 minutes (on the dyno) for half the price.

I was attracted by the lower price for smogging but ended up with a bill over $1,200. First never take your car there if your check engine light is on! There s two types of smog shops. The good guys that notice your check engine lights on will tell you to go to a mechanic to take off the check engine light before attempting smog check. The bad guys will still hook up your car and fail you. Then they charge you and say that you just paid to find out what you have to fix. They don t mention that they just reported you to the state and that they get points from the state for doing so. So being nice or professionally taking you for a financial ride, and whats really bad is they do it during a pandemic.

I guess $23.50 plus certificate REALLY means $33.50 plus certificate! Another "too good to be true" coupon. Service was fine, otherwise. I did like the online appointment!

Attracted by the low price of smog check. Walked in and got serviced well. When I asked where to find the air pump to check my tire pressure, they just checked and pumped all my tires, for free.

Awesome service...for smog and service...gas station side is different story...definitely go here for auto service and smog....boycott the fuel side....alliance owner and employee inside are very nasty and rude. Even admitted to urinating outside.....I couldn't believe it....

Solid service, but the online reservation portal is not honored. I had a online reservation and the location gave priority to walk-ins.
