We have taken both cars here for over 10 years. Always honest, reliable, solid work, never steered us wrong. Much better than the Toyota and Hyundai dealers on Stevens Creek!

The owner (& Master Mechanic) is very good & efficient - as well as friendly & helpful. I drive a Volvo S60 - however they will work on all makes & models. Hands down - quality & trust in every job.

Always super friendly, and I never get the sense they are overcharging or nickel-and-diming. Any time I need work on my car, this is where I go.

I'm from Southern California so it seems expensive to me . a tune up was over $550. But my car runs way better. They replaced a cover that was damaged and oil was leaking on my spark plugs. The part was $200 and labor was $250. Took the 20 mins to replaced.

low integrity, added random repairs. twice I came here for minor stuff, and they charged around $1500 each time. they start you off cheap and don't charge you first few times to gain your trust. then when you go back, they start finding all kinds of problems and charging you lots of money. I found other mechanics that charged much less money.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning

Have been using Ivy and Truman services for about 2yrs for our 2003 Camry and Beetle. The guy is very knowledgeable and reasonable in pricing. He explains the issue and helps you make the right decision about repairs. During oil change, he checks and recommends other fixes or near future fixes, also suggests when they should be fixed. He does NOT mean to scare you but to educate you. I have had experience where mechanic scares and recommends you to fix things right away, sometimes they are not even needed.Sometimes, if they have a car and a person available, they will give you a ride to office or home.Apart from his good services, I find him a good human being. Always greets with smile, spreads positive energy and happiness. He asked how I was, I responded "I am good, how about you?" His response, "I am luckiest person on earth, I have good health, great family and I have roof on my head. What else do I need?" :)

I am really disappointed with the quality of service that i received from this shop and have serious doubt about the integrity with which the business is conducted.I had taken my car for oil change and they brought to my notice issue with struts. I ended up spending $950 for 4 struts and the guy told me it had a life time warranty at the time in 2016 i would not need to spend anything if it ever broke. it would last for ever.Sure enough 2+ years later in 2018 - 2 out of the 4 struts started leaking again. i took the car back to the shop - Now he tells me..labour is not covered and for the 2 struts it would cost me $280 but that he can arrange for replacement since it had life time warranty. He also tells me "There is no warranty on my life too. So i need to charge for labour"He also tells me how good his service is because he gave me life time warranty vs the original toyota gave me only 3 year warranty. [ Never mind the fact that his struts broke down in 2 while Toyota's lasted for 10 years ] All the while maintaining how he is sort of doing me a favour and not going to charge me for parts. Then he calls his supplier and then says to me "i have a bad news" .. warranty is only for 2 years and you are past that. Basically now i need to buy parts+ labour again.Basically - he has me in this vicious cycle -> I buy parts and labour from him - he puts in bad quality stuff in my car - i go back complaining - he keeps charging me for labour for the same parts over and over again and all the while making me feel like he is doing me a favour.I really question the integrity of this place. Needless to say - i am never going back to this shop again.

DO NOT GO HERE! I came in for brake service a couple months ago and was told that I only needed rear pads and rotors. It was over 500$ and now only a short time later my brakes are squeaking again and it turns out I need front pads as well! Overpriced and completely unorganized!!Service: Auto brake repairService: Auto brake repair

Just moved to the area. Read some reviews and decided to go to Firestone that had mixed reviews but a coupon - mistake! The reviews are so true about the manager there they wasted 1/2 my working day. Any who, I decided to try Ivy & Truman the next day for a simple oil change, WOW what a difference. This place is way better than any of the corporate places like Jiffy Lube who tries to up-sale you on a bunch of stuff you dont need and make you wait just to get attitude from whomever is behind the counter. Not here! They are full service and had me in and out within 40 minutes with nothing but politeness and a smile... also more importantly respected my time! The owner was there and gave me a very reasonable price and mentioned that I should do a transmission flush and tire rotation next time I came in for an oil change because my car was at 75,000. So my family will be bringing our cars there from here on out!

The guy here is very helpful and totally understood me when I described the bad experience I had with the SMOG CHECK across the road.He looked at the report of the previous failed check and suggested me to drive my car for two sessions with a 2-hour gap and then come for a re-check. And it worked. This guy is an expert and is a very pleasant/friendly person. He is way better than the j*rk at Green Smog Check right across the street.

These guys are so efficient. I came in for 60k maintaince service for 2012 Sabaru outback. Pretty good price and the services was so efficient that I only left the car there for less than 2hrs all the works were done. I am so happy with the services. The staffs were helpful and friendly. The service was great. Definitely recommended and I will be back.Keep up the good work guys.

These guys did my transmission seal twice and couldn't get it right. Instead of refunding quang ask another $200 to redo it. We cannot pay for your training. When I go to the transmission specialist, we tried calling Quang and didn't answer the phone or reply back. I wonder he even do it in the first time, coz after the second time it was leaking more oil. Always get second opinion on what he recommends.

Looks like Mr. Nguyen's gonna weasel us out of $1900 after all.Our car had a leak. Mr. Nguyen said it was the transmission. After his mechanic "fixed" the transmission leak. The car was still leaking the same that evening. It wasn't the transmission as Mr. Nguyen so kindly offered to replace for an additional $4500 after supposedly fixing it in the first place. It was the engine that was leaking in 3 different places. Granted one of the leaks was near the transmission, but whatever. We got took.In hindsight we should have known given we have had no issues with transmission. Or if we would've done a quick google search first we would've been able to tell the difference in leaked transmission fluid vs oil from the engine.Chase Bank's fraud department was helpful and kind and has temporarily given us a refund. That would be permanent provided that we get a report from another mechanic. We tried. The engine leaks aren't worth fixing so the new mechanic has no financial incentive to take the time to write us a report. I'm sure we could keep pushing, but eh. So we expect the charge will still go through eventually. The charge was well below $10k so not worth breaking out the lawyers.Mr. Nguyen is running both of these shops on expired business licenses and its kinda difficult to take a business being ran illegally to court in any meaningful way. It was recommended that we report Mr. Nguyen to the Clerk's Recorder's Office. It's pretty crazy that you can run businesses so easily and out in the open without the state of California knowing you even exist. But the fight's out of us and plan B was getting more tempting by the minute. At least our BBB complaint will be permanent. I'm sure enough will pile up over time.Mr. Nguyen's clever. Good for him. Not so good for the auto repair industry. Some just never change.Time to move on and Elon Musk can now thank Mr. Nguyen for expediting one of his most recent Tesla 3 orders. Woohoo!!

Quang is a very skilled liar. He sold me a lemon car promising me it'll give over 10 years of use. Right from his shop, it gave rattling sounds, vibrations in the steering wheel, exhaust in the cabin. I had it inspected and it had almost $2000 worth of repairs needed plus it was dangerous to drive with the repairs needed. Quang always made alot of promises with my other cars, and he gave great deals but I had to keep getting repairs. He always great great explanations that the car is old. I naively trusted Quang. He is personable and overly friendly. There were signs that he was dishonest but this last experience made it clear to me. Never going there again. Don't be fooled, open your eyes

Called at 5:20 letting them know my undercarriage just came down and that I needed it fixed. Went in and they fixed it for me even though they were about to close. I'm appreciative for their kindness and professionalism for helping me.
