Very professional and pleasant to work with. Picked out my camper shell online, left a deposit, then went to get it installed. It only took 2 hours and the installation was done properly. Great guys to work with!

Took forever to get my camper shell however they did lend me one temporarily. I was getting water in my truck finally it was pointed out that the shell was not properly installed. It s over an hour to go there and I m not getting any responses and am hoping I can get someone to fix in my area this is ridiculous

Fair prices and good customer service. They will fix you up with a topper, running boards and other things for a cheap labor price. If you have an issue with your product, they will fix it up for you for free.

An ok place but makes the businessman in me cringe at the low standards of appearance, further explained below.Pricing competitive with others in area. Ordered Snugtop sport hiliner custom, which arrived in 2 weeks. Shop provided free labor charge as military discount, a $90 savings. Arrived at 1045 for a job I was told would take 2.5 hours. 4 hours later I drove off. They took the time to wash the shell a bit before starting installation, a nice touch.Bonus, while you wait there is a taco truck in the next parking lot and a nice convenience store.Overall, I'm happy, but there are some things that need to be covered.First, cleanliness. The place is filthy. Trash and dirt are everywhere. Yes, it's in LaPresa, but still, come on. See photo of parking area at rear of store, there were similar piles of trash right by the front door too.Next, equipment. The forklifts use pads to lift up the camper shells, I watched a worker pick one up out of a mud puddle, put it on and pick up a brand new carpeted shell off the delivery truck. Not what I'm dropping $3k for, I expect my shell to be mint condition.Finally, expertise. The whole amount of time it took was due to not knowing how to wire up to my 2019 Tacoma. After they threw four guys at it they finally noticed that they bent a pin in my reverse camera connection, and fixed it.So, in summary, if you are in a rush or fancy clothes, steer clear. If you can be patient, you can save a few dollars here.One thing that is talked about a lot on Yelp is their treatment of used shells. I agree they are stored poorly and yours will likely have scratches and chips from the looks of some there. Inspect carefully is my advice.Edit update:. Back lock actuator failed the next day, after checking the wiring it was fine and so they replaced the actuator. Works perfect and was in and out in 20 minutes. Great warranty service I'd say.

Great service ordering my canopy. Called me right when it came in and set an appointment for the next day to get it installed. Install didn't even take an hour.

Great customer service! Alfonso worked really hard to get our Snug Top picked up from Long Beach , delivered, and installed fast after the manufacturer had unscheduled delays in their paint shop. Thanks to him our cross country move was only delayed hours instead of days.

I just returned from Custom Road and got a cab high shell. it's in great shape and I got a fair price. Installation was very thorough and the guys are real nice. I would recommend them. They have a huge inventory of used shells.

I've been dealing with them for years. They have the best price and service I've seen on shells. I've bought 2 new and 1 used from them as well as accessories. I busted the entire back window and bent the frame on one of the shells, they repaired it perfectly .. it does look a bit trashy, but don't let that fool you, they probably have a very reasonable rent and don't want to move. This saves the customer money. Do you want great prices and service? Or do you want high prices, marble floors and a nice waiting room? I like the prices

I just purchased a shell last week. I paid for dog screens and 6 J hooks for mounting. They only put in 4 clamps and no dog screens. The shell was mounted crooked also. They were ready to let me drive off with it. I had to go back in and ask for my $100.00 backs for the dog screens. They credited my card back. I realized I was missing two J hooks when I got home. I called and wanted him to credit my card back again, he didn't want to he said come back and will take care of you. I was taken care enough.Very poor service. The Shell I bought it wonderful.I would not recommend this business to a friend.

Excellent Service, they go above and beyond to take care of their Customers. I purchased a camper shell over the phone that I found online. Custom Road was the only place that I could find in California and parts of Nevada that had the camper shell for my truck. True story as I had been searching for days before I came across an ad from Custom Road online. They delivered my camper shell to my house and installed it in my driveway and hooked up the lights too. Thank You to everyone involved and especially the Delivery Driver..They truly go above and beyond to Deliver to the Customer.

Very unprofessional staff. I dropped of a shell to be repainted and the salesman seemed very nice and knowledgeable. He advised me that it would be ready in three to five days. On the fifth day I had not heard from them so I called and was told "your shell is ready for pickup and to come in at 3 pm". I arrived at 3 pm and was pretty much ignored by a very overweight unprofessional male who had blue ink smeared all over himself. He finally told me they were very busy with installs and it would be a while. I walked outside and noticed most of the employees walking around without a care in the world and noticed they were not doing any installs. I walked back inside and told the overweight man that I had other things I needed to do and wanted my shell installed so I could go. They brought my shell out and needless to say it looked like someone painted it with spray paint cans and when they tried to buffed it out they burnt through most of the paint, not to mention it had several deep scratches placed on it after it was painted. When I advised the other salesmen that they needed to repaint it properly and that it was not going on my truck I got the 200 yard stare. The salesmen acknowledged that It did look terrible and stated they would take it to the paint shop across the street this time to have it painted and assured me it would be done right.The funny thing is when I pulled up to the shop, a guy was complaining that they did a crappy job installing his new shell on his Toyota and he wanted it done right. I think he finally got as pissed off as I was and left.Wish I would have read the reviews before going there and I would have stayed clear of the place.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!! DO NOT GO THERE.

Found an ad on Craigslist for a new truck shell they had in stock. Called and spoke to Alfonso, he gave me a price no other dealer would beat with the same options and free install. Drove down the next day and they had the shell on the forklift ready to install and installed it in under 30 min. Great service and price.

Great install, great product. Would be 5 stars, but took 2 weeks for my rack to come in. Nice people. Sat in the waiting area next to a guy that pooped his pants, had to wait outside. But that's not the stores fault. I'll be going back, hopefully poopy pants will not be there.

So disappointed. I wonder how many people take their camper shell through a car wash after having it installed. Water poured in through all the windows and it wasn't even sealed down onto the truck correctly. I purchased here cause it was the only place with a shell for my truck in stock without a 5-7 week wait time and I'm moving across country. Now my trip is on hold while I purchase the materials and try and fix it all myself.

I purchased a shell for the bed of my 2006 Tundra about 6 months ago. It's not often that I give a company 5 stars. My overall experience at the time of the purchase was very good they were willing to negotiate the price and since I've owned it for the last 6 months I've had nothing but wonderful things to say about it.

I was looking for a camper shell for a Ford Ranger Truck that is sold only in Mexico. The other dealers basically told me they had nothing to sell since the tailgate on my truck was a little different that the US model Rangers. They Guys at Custom Road took it as a personal challenge to find something that would work and boy do they have an inventory. They have so many camper shells, new and used that we went over to the overflow lot and looked there. We finally found one that worked and they mounted it for me and did a great job making it look great. They are fantastic.

These guys completely wasted my time today, what a joke.I was told the service would only take an hour. I spent 45 minutes standing the sun watching them fail to fix the latch of a camper of a truck that rolled in after mine. They kept re-iterating "just a couple more minutes we're gonna be on yours in no time".I was extremely patient, but after realizing an hour would come and go without even getting started on service, I kindly informed them I would be leaving, and left.So a couple hours of wasted time but maybe for the best considering they couldn't figure out how to fix a faulty latch.There's got to be a hundred run-down truck service shops in San Diego, this one has to be the worst.

I saw these guys on craigslist and figured I'd cruise on by to see what they had. I got super lucky and found exactly what I was looking for. Bought it on the spot and had it installed. Took about an hour so I ate at the taco shop across the street. By the time I came back it was all done and good to go! I know I got super lucky, but still, props to these guys for having a new truck shell for a 2021 Tacoma ready to sell with how fast everything Tacoma related is selling right now. I admit, the lot looks pretty messy with all the used old caps and shells all over the place, so it does give off a little sketch vibe, but they were super nice and did an excellent job so I can't blame them for doing the best they can with what room they have. Definitely swing by or call this place if you're in the market for a truck cap/shell. They had tool boxes and other truck stuff too, but I didn't look at any of it.

My experience has been absolutely Terrible. They installed a lock on my camper and I have clothes walking out and NO signs of breaking into. They Only have me 1 key when I should have received 2 keys. One of the workers that is Hispanic kept a key. I Would NOT refer anyone to go here. Just drive Farther to Get Better Service. This man hires Crooks. I had,to change my lock and it was an Additional cost with another company. Take MY advice or Regret it.....I just replaced the Lock they put On my camper shell. The other company said, this company put the bars on backwards and that is why it would NOT lock correctly. Apparently, the technicians do not know the Proper installation.....Do the Drive and Get Professional Work....I have a year guarantee with this other company. Custom Road charged me $125.00 This other company only charged $73.00 to redo Customs Work with their year Warranty....GO NORTH....dodge this Place!!!

I have been going to Custom Road Truck accessories for years and have had rack, hitch, brake controller, tow bar, Camper Shell etc. installations for years and they've never ever failed to do the job right. It's been over ten years and more than eight various vehicles ranging from pickup trucks, minivans, trailers and motor homes and nothing has stumped these experts.As for those who went there once and put out nasty reviews, you're out of line. Anyone can have a bad day and these guys aren't immune to that. There can be supplier delays, a customer before you demands more work, guys calling in sick or whatever real life situations come up and the Custom Road folks still bust their asses.I stand by these guys' work because not only is the work and service stellar, these are real hard working people who try real hard to please their customers. I started out being a customer over ten years ago and progressively, with every visit they've become partners in every project I bring in.The most recent job I brought in, the supplier fouled up the order and custom Road had to order a different unit and brand, cost them more and with the whole installation, they were upside down on the financials. But they stood by their quote and got the job done. Yes, the project was delayed, but it was the supplier that caused it and these guys raised hell on my behalf.Anyway, I hope that helps future customers determine who they go to next when they are searching for services. This is a small shop that has been run and employs the same people for years, truly a great small business example of ordinary folks trying their best. There may be flaws, but their track record with me is nothing short of extraordinary.You go Alfonso And Adam

Very accommodating, even while I was stuck in traffic. Got a high top cover for my 97 f150 that would have been $2100 new. These guys had the only one in SoCal and installed it right away, evenAfter I got in late

Great experience, they installed a rack for my truck and they had me in and out of the store in 40 minutes. Place is a bit crowded but the the staff was very helpful in accommodating the the customers coming and going. I will shop there again and recommend them to my friends.

We called ahead and asked about a couple items. Long story short the item in question wasn't there and when we inquired about it to the man upfront we got shrugged off and offered the higher price item. The guy helping us was trying hard to help us find a camper he thought would fit and the guy up front simply didn't care to negotiate or help out. We ended up leaving and won't be returning. The older gentlemen up front didn't care to give us his attention and wasn't concerned with our business (but was attentive to other patrons who inquired about higher priced items). So needless to say it was a waste of time and a loss of a sale for them. The inaccurate inventory wasn't a concern apparently and their stock definitely wasn't what it appeared to be or advertised.

I called them to see if they had a shell for my truck make and model. They told me yes. I drove down there. A 1 hour drive. When I got there they could not find the shell on their "lots". They need to keep better watch on there inventory. They wasted 3 hours of my time and over 80 miles on my truck because they run there company like caress aholes
