I absolutely don't like leaving a bad review for a business because sometimes things just happen. This doesn't have anything to do with repair work. I brought my car in for an engine steam clean detail. They are supposed to do the complete engine, engine bay and underneath.I really have no idea why this person would do such a poor job, knowing I would see it !All these pictures are of the engine, on top in plain sight.I haven't even looked under the car yet.I had been looking forward to getting this done for months, thinking it would be nice.I am so disappointed.

Researched the many mechanics within 3 miles walking distance of my home in Spring Valley and went with Asmar's based on reviews. The reviews don't lie! Yes they are a bit pricier per labor hour than other local mechanics. However, they are very thorough, professional, clean lobby, and in my experience, honest. I spoke to both Jason and I believe the owner Ryan and they were informative and professional. It looks like the owners have changed over 30+ years and yet the reviews have been consistently good for a reason.I had went in with an overdue smog registration and of course my "service engine soon" light on. With a 14 year old car I knew there'd be more issues, but what I appreciated is that they clearly explained "here is what to fix to ONLY take care of that engine light, and here are the strongly recommended issues, and then here's the stuff that you need but it can wait." So, they gave me three different options truly based on how much I could afford. I went with the second, and plan on going back for the rest of it. I appreciated that they broke it down to "RIGHT NOW TO PASS SMOG, very soon before your car has more issues, and hopefully you can take care of this other stuff within the year." After moving further from my last trusty shop, I am SO happy I found a new go-to mechanic.

Asmar's my go-to auto mechanic place for all things dealing with my car. They have a very capable and experienced staff that keeps my car running in great condition. Top notch customer service. I highly recommend this place to any and all potential customers looking for a positive experience.

Asmars was able to diagnose my car right away and have it all fixed up within a day. They walk you through whatever your car needs but do not force it upon you that you HAVE to get your service there. The environment made me feel really comfortable that they were letting me do my research before I said yes to the service. Saying yes was amazing too because they had my car back up and running within a day

Went through my 1995 Ranger sorely overdue fir maintenance, made suggestions in order of safety or urgency. Professional, knowledgeable, and polite. Plus they explained & pointed these items out to me on my truck up on the lift. Much appreciated!

My one regret in leaving behind the mountains of Park City, UT to relocate back to San Diego was leaving behind the most competent and trustworthy auto mechanic I had ever experienced! Then I discovered Asmar s and Ryan. I m delighted to have located another competent, helpful, fair and honest auto service. Yahoo!

Asmar's is one of the most honest places around i am so glad to have met ryan, they are also i believe the last facility in greater san diego that can still hot power wash the underside of your car and get all the oil off your engine.

I ve had services done by ASMAR AUTO CARE in the past. Each time is a great experience. This time I had scheduled an appointment for my 2021 Toyota RAV4. Speaking to James on the phone to match up our calendars was smooth, easy and accommodating. I was scheduled the next morning. Upon arrival, AJ was quick, friendly and efficient to get me checked in. Ryan the owner, is about a stand up guy as they come. A very personable, family feel auto shop. Quality of work is 5-Stars! They follow manufacturers guidelines with services and repairs as needed. Prices are competitive and fair. Definitely give them a call instead of going to a dealership and pay way out of pocket if your warranty is up. Side note: they offer a military discount on certain jobs. Don t forget to ask if you qualify. If you have a service job that may take awhile, I suggest that you arrange a ride ahead of time or Uber/Lyft. They have a cozy little waiting area with comfy seats and accessible outlets if you have to charge up your cellphones, etc. Overall they provide outstanding customer service and quality of care will have me scheduling appointments in the future. I wanted my car to pass smog and they recommended unnecessary fixes.These guys were going charge me $1200+ for a evap and maf fix and had the nerve to say, "We still don't know if this could 100% fix your issue".Literally went to a place nearby and got the work done for $600.Don't waste your money here, seriously.

Thank you Ryan for working with me to get my AC and PS belts replaced on my 2004 Nissan Sentra at a moments notice. Thanks to the mechanic who did a superb job, and the front desk clerks who assisted me. They all were truly professional during the entire process. I wished I had read the reviews before taking my car to this place, I probably would ve spent my money somewhere else, they talked me into doing some repair that didn t fit my issue and then they wanted more money to keep looking for the problem, I couldn t believe that after spending over a thousand dollars they still wanted more money to find the problem that I wanted to fix on the first place, I hope people read this review and don t make the same mistake, also if they recommend something double check cause they are overpriced.

I used to love this place now I don't I told them I had a leak underneath and they give it back with the leak still happening and its oil they never fixed it I've had two problems with them with two different Vehicles now and I'm done do I messaged the guy saying there was problems with the car and then he never messaged back until another month later so I paid 30000 to get my car back knowing it's still leaking oil to the alignment is off as well still they didn't even fix that either my car is still driving off the road let alone I paid and asked for a full inspection on my car and they didn't even do that so I am very unpleased with this place while they gave me my car back I no longer recommend this place ever againServices: Transmission, Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Auto water leak repair, Steering & suspension replacement, Electrical, Auto brake repair, Tire rotations, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes, Auto maintenance, Auto brake replacement, Oil change

Got a car smog done here, it is a star station which is what I needed. Less than $40 and 15 minutes and I was done! I waited in an air conditioned room reading a cool '60s Cars book and within minutes I got a message from Asmars informing me the car was ready for pickup! The guy was super nice and I will go back again for any auto needs! They've been here since 85 and I never noticed them before ...right down the street from me!

I went to Asmar s for a basic tune up and to get a smog. I ended up leaving with a rebuilt motor. They saved me a lot of time and money by keeping me from driving around with a ticking time bomb! The work they did was amazing and next level service. I really appreciated Ryan getting Involved with my vehicle and taking such good care of me. I m very satisfied with Asmar s. I highly recommend them for your future auto services!

We came to Asmar's based on AAA's recommendation. Asmar's outstanding people quickly and deservedly gained our trust as they serviced our Kia and Hyundai several times during the last 18 months. The key to this place is that the owner, Ryan, is a great person who only hires great people. They excel at what they do and they have exceptional customer service. We highly recommend this shop to anyone who wants responsible work done for an always fair price with no BS ever. In fact, many times, I've felt they've been more than fair. I would never consider going elsewhere. These guys are the real thing.

I had my '97 TJ Jeep Wrangler's engine steamed cleaned. The staffs especially Andy, were so professional and their customer service is superb! Highly recommend ASMAR'S Auto Service to those whose cars are in need of engine care specialists! Two Thumbs Up ... way up!!!

Very friendly and courteous. They waved the diagnostic fee after I agreed to have the work done. They even checked the pressure and inflated the tires of my daughter's car when she came to pick me up. Such great service, I highly recommend them.

All I needed was a simple Smog Test on my husband's truck or so I thought! After going to four different East County service providers, I was referred to Asmar's Auto Care in Spring Valley. My experience, from the prompt and friendly greeting to problem resolution to the hospitality and very reasonable pricing, was great all the way around. Needless to say, I left a very satisfied repeat customer. During this visit, I met Ryan, Kevin, and Chris, all whom expressed genuine interest in not just providing excellent service, but establishing a good client relationship. Thank you so much!!! See you guys next visit.
