This place used to be good, now it sucks big time because somehow honesty went a different direction My mechanic at the time wasn t capable of fixing my issue even after hundreds of dollars.I won t even go to this shop for a brake job This place sounds more reasonable than competitors but in fact it turns out to be more expensive than competitors because they couldn t deliver the promised result for me. It seemed as if it was fixed but the labor was so cheap, it ended up costing me more in follow up repairs cause by the poor labor here Poor labor, unethical business practices.

I bought a Benz 300TE with 363,000 miles last weekend, and for the whole week prior I was researching and debating on where to take it to get serviced and establish my relationship with my mechanic. I chose Sal's out of about a dozen, even though I live in SF and the shop is out of the way for me. They're a family owned and run business. They're specialists in older Benz's with years and years of relevant experience. I felt confident going there before stepping foot inside, and when I did step inside I felt welcomed and at home. Israel is a great, friendly, knowledgable mechanic that knew the car inside and out. Within two days, he had a laundry list of things done to my new ride and kept me within budget. He even gives a bottle of wine to those who have over $1k of work done, which I used last night to celebrate my newly reliable wagon. I'll be using Isreal for all of my future work and recommend that you do too. Thanks Israel for getting this thing out on the road again!

I took my car there because it is an '86 and wasn't idling. I had them remove the carburetor so that I could take it to a specialist since they are incapable of fixing carburetors. The specialist told me there was nothing wrong with my carb, and that it was the stepper motor, and to have the mechanic check the computer of the car to see if it was telling the SM to drill too far into the carb. When I brought the carb back and told them what was needed they didn't listen to me. They put the carb back on and called me a couple days later saying it was fixed and charged me $250. Well, it wasn't fixed. They didn't actually do anything. And when I called to ask him if he even did what the specialist had asked and checked the computer he told me he didn't know how to do that; something he should have told me when I first asked him to. I said, "So you charged me $250 to take the carburetor off and put it back on and didn't actually do any work?" and he said yes. Wow.If you have a simple problem I'm sure they're great but don't take your car here if you need an actual skilled mechanic.
