I know there's not great reviews here but I do come to this Pep Boys despite it's flaws.I base this on a few criteria (in this order)1. Price2. Speed3. Customer ServicePRO:- Great prices if you can get a coupon. Check their website, also sign up for specials, it's totally worth it.- You can make appointments online for ease but that does NOT mean you'll get in on time.- I love shopping at El Super across the street. It's walkable so I can do some grocery shopping while waiting for my oil changeCON:- It's always busy here. Come early- Worst thing is that if someone is front of you and gets there before you, they will get in before you even if you have an appointment.- Long waits, it's never the confirmed time they say it will be done.- Mechanics are usually not on time for the 1st appointment- If you get the first appointment, come earlier cause they overbook.SUMMARY:If you don't care about price or speed, you can come here. But I've been pleased and I've been disappointed here but mostly disappointed. But I am a value shopper so I overlook that.

Pep Boys of San Fernando has come a long way. Now only an auto service department and went away from the auto retail market, they focus all efforts on your vehicle mechanical needs. Been coming to this location my entire driving life. Friendly and honest work is all I have received from the team at SF PepBoys! Had issues with my 99 Suburban and they found the issue and with an honest conversation told me " we don't have the skills and technician that can handle this type of work". (had a rotten eat through most of the electrical cables).With that they have won my respect and my business.MeCollections

The advisor provided me with 6 different estimates after trying to force me to get extra work done on my vehicle. He tried to charge me $1236 to fix an upper/lower radiator hose and the thermostat. He didn t tell me to drop it to $980. After being told that I only wanted the upper radiator hose fixed. He then came back with another estimate for $650, And then another $500 and said that s the lowest that he could go. I m getting into an argument with my friend after being confronted for Trying to charge me $600 in labor alone, He said he does it come up with the estimates the system automatically does it itself. He then told the mechanic that I gave him the Authorization to complete the work. Which never happened. Then he said, I had to pay for it, because the work was already completed. My friend, then told him to call the cops because we were not going to pay for something that we did not authorize. He refused to call the cops, and had another worker come and negotiate with us instead.

This was my 2nd time getting an oil change from here and had a great experience. Paulette was the employee that welcomed me and talked me through the other issues my vehicle had, but didn t pressure me at all to get it done. She just wanted to make sure I was aware and provided an estimate. I appreciate that they included a description and photos. Also, the oil change wasn t expensive either.

This location had the 4 tires in the size needed. The store is clearly marked and the customer areas are clean and spacious. The service writers are attentive and helpful. Other locations left much to be desired.Five stars here

They made good on a problem with my oil pan. Replaced it at no additional cost and did not charge me for the oil change. I was very impressed how they honorably treated me. I highly recommend them

We are so grateful for Andy. Great customer service. We from Washington appreciate you! We traveled to San Diego for a soccer tournament in a van with 11 players - 15-year-olds. I am glad our tow guy chose Pep Boys, and we were blessed with Andy. He went above and beyond to find a part that he didn't have in the shop and get us on the road as quickly as possible. Thank you for everything!!

I took my car for breaks to the Pep Boys on San Fernando Rd. I ended up needing more than breaks and taking my car 3x to get fixed (hopefully). After 3,000 and three visits I would think that they would have the customer service to inform me what was done to my car, provided a summary and my keys. Instead, I walked in to pick up my car on 9/14/2023 at 6pm from the assistant manager Robert who was rude and dismissive to me. I walked in and I noticed him talking to someone but I have seen employees talking before so I greet them. When I noticed it was a customer I waited patiently. The customer and I did small talk between that Robert requested for a young man to check my mileage. A young lady came out to help me but Robert told her no. Basically told her that he had it. When the young man walked back in he gave my keys. I asked for summary of what was done to my car. Then he said that he would email it in a rude tone of voice. He was very dismissive to me. Like I was bothering him.I walked out and reflected. I know that if I was a male he wouldn t have talked to me like that. Not happy. I waited for the gentleman who was in the shop walked out then I walked back in. I told him that the least he could do is provide me good customer service after having to bring my car 3x and spending so much money on the shop. He still didn t apologize or recognize that he was in the wrong which frustrated me more. He rudely told me to have a good day. At end, I was being rude back and told him that I deserve the same respect as the male customers.Please do yourself a favor and avoid the headache. It shouldn t take this long for them to fix my car the right way and add being disrespected by Robert.

Sammy is always a pleasure to deal with. I've been going here for a few years now routine maintenance, tires, and any emergencies that pop up, and he's always been transparent and personable, as is the staff I've communicated with alongside him. Definitely never going to another place if I don't have to.

Terrible reception from 2 attendants. One was taking webcam "Inventory Training" in the service area, while the other one was idle - waiting on a patron to return from an item search, instead of answering my brief 5 word inquiry she rudely told me to wait.

Took my car for oil change,Took them 3 hours to do it.Oil stick was 1/4 short after oil change.When I told the tech he said I need to turn the car on to check the oil.They are the worse in the service.They are horrible.

My overall experience was great when it comes to time and price. I can t promise everyone s experience will be the same. I checked in 30 minutes before my appointment and was well received. I expected the job to be completed 1 1/2 - 2 hours, due to the fact I showed up early, I figured they wouldn t start until my appointment time. I walked to a nearby restaurant to eat, came back and was completed only 30 minutes after my appointment time, so it was completed in 1 hour total. Pricing was great too, I believe the manager offered me a coupon and everything was much cheaper than expected.

I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. I was given an estimated time of 1 hour, which I thought was a little long but I was willing to wait. Hour and twenty minutes later oil had been changed and tires hadn t been rotated I was told it was going to take longer if I wanted my tires rotated. The shop was not busy, technicians didn t seem to have much experience. Would not recommend.

This is my go-to shop car repairs and maintenance for our 3-car family. They put in a new A/C system in my daughter's car, replaced all 4 tires on my car (delivered and installed same-day), and rotated the tires on my son's car and let us know the sensors are failing. The pricing was great, the service stellar and the overall experience... enjoyable! When was the last time you could say that about getting car work done? Great staff, excellent service.
