UPDATE #2!!! Back to 1 star!!! This place could have killed me or my family!!! Shortly after this mess of a transaction, my rear wheel fell off. They stripped all five of my lugs and the receiver flange they thread into causing my car to drop on the ground and damaging the rotor, wheel well, fender, control arm and wheel. Thank God it was just in a parking lot instead of the freeway! This situation could have been sooooo much worse and I thank God it wasn't!!!Update!!! Diego, the store manager, made it a point to get my car buffed and polished to get rid of the scratches. Between that and getting the rental for me, i raised my review from 1 to 3 stars solely due to Diego being a stand-up guy and taking care of the issues that were caused. Thanks Diego!I took my 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550 in for an oil change and to have my brake pads replaced. Upon finishing up the job, the tech broke my caliper mounting hardware and I was forced to let them keep the car until the next afternoon. The store manager did get me a rental which was nice of him. However, upon picking up my vehicle the following afternoon, the oil life had not been reset. I asked them to reset it and they didn't know how. They got their "Master Tech" to come try and he couldn't figure it out so he then states that I have to go to the dealership to get it done. A YouTube video and 10 seconds later, I was able to reset it myself. And last but not least, they severely scratched my paint on the drivers side by the hood above the wheel well. They apologized and am currently waiting to hear back from them about what they plan to do to fix that. Needless to say, I will NEVER return to this location, nor will I ever send anyone there. Absolutely disgusted with this place.

We received a call the night before our 10am appointment stating the tires we selected online for our appointment were not at the store. We had submitted the online appointment request 1-2 days before, allowing for time to ensure there was inventory available. We were told we were being upgraded to a better/more expensive tire since they were out of stock. The difference in cost was 2 dollars and the ratings on these "upgraded" tires were worse than what we had originally selected. We let it go. But then upon getting to the appointment my father and 3 year old daughter had to wait almost 3 HOURS to have the tires put on our car, although we had an appointment. We even made sure to select that we were waiting in store during the service, as opposed to dropping the vehicle off. Two other cars drove in and had been taken care of before our car was even touched. My father had to ask 3 different times what was going on, as he was initially given the estimate that it'd take one hour to change the tires and run the alignment. The only accommodation we received was a free oil change- which well never use because I do not plan on ever using Firestone service in the future. Terrible customer service at this location. Definitely never going back! The tires may be reasonably priced but this crew doesn't mind wasting your time.

We had been in an accident and were not sure if we could drive our car back home out of state safely. We needed assistance late in the day, not long before closing. Frank Goodwin told us to come in and he would get our problem looked at. Once there, he had his tech look things over and quickly gave us a clear assesement. He assured us that they could complete the repairs by the next day. He understood that we were in a bit of a spot, being from out of state. He actually took the initiative to arrange for some other customers who were there at the shop to give my wife and I a ride to a nearby hotel. He was courteous and helpful and did all he could to get us taken care of. The technician who worked on our car was also very professional. It was not hard to tell that both of these gentleman knew what they were doing. You have a good crew at this shop (4464 Convoy Street in San Diego). Thank you!

The manager was extremely helpful in sorting out what was necessary for my car based on my dealers suggestions. We were able to keep costs in my budget and they fixed all necessary issues within a day. Very thankful I went to Firestone for a second opinion.

Service was started on time (appointment) and was excellent, fully resolving the problem. This Firestone location seems to always be busy, but with an appointment they started work promptly and did a great job!

I had a bad experience at this location. I usually get my car wheel rotation and balancing done at Costco Tires, but I decided to get my car alignment done here. Unfortunately, after just a few months, my car tires were completely worn out. When I asked Costco about it, they informed me that the place where I got my alignment done wasn't doing anything and simply handed the car back without proper adjustments. I want to caution others to be careful when considering this location for car services

This shop is fair and balanced with the service they provide. Inspect your vehicle and provide you with a quote. If your not content with the price, they will suggest another provider. I have had my vehicle maintenance done at this location and other times they have recommended good shops with as good a service as any other for your car support. Dependable, reliable and fair.

I stopped by Firestone an hour before they were closing on a Saturday because I had a slow leak in one of my tires. One person was working in the garage, and he directed me where to pull up my car and then told me to go to the counter inside. I went in but no one was there. Several minutes later the person working the counter came in with a customer. He snarled at me that the customer he was with was ahead of me, but said nothing else. I waited as he got her information and then chatted with her about her flat tire, still not acknowledging me, which was fine. The person working in the garage came inside and looked over at me, so I asked him if he'd looked at my tire. He said he had, and there was a nail in the tread. Then the guy working the counter barked to him, "Get back in the garage!", as if he was angry that the rule to ignore me was being violated (!). It was a little bizarre. But he went back to the garage. Finally the guy working the counter finished with the customer ahead of me, and she left. Without looking at me, the guy working the counter then walked out. At this point I had been at the counter for 10-15 minutes, and the only acknowledgment that I had gotten from the guy working the counter was his initial unfriendly snarl that someone had been ahead of me. I don't know if he went on break or if he went to touch base about something with the person working in the garage, and I have no idea how much longer I would have had to wait for him to come back and talk to me. My keys were on the counter, so I grabbed them, went out to my car, and drove away. The person working in the garage was friendly, but the person working the counter was strikingly unfriendly. Maybe he's always this way, or maybe he was just in a bad mood that day. Definitely not the convenient and friendly customer service that you get at most garages and tire shops in San Diego.

Avoid this place at all cost.When we dropped our car, it was specifically stated what needed to be done. They only did the quick/easy fix, and charged double or triple for the cost material and labor.Once we noticed the other parts were not repair, they said your car and get fixed since we didn't charge for it.What a scam!!!!!

I worked with Frank after having trouble with my car, his team diagnosed in less than a day and had my car ready so fast. Frank was awesome to work with. Very transparent about the work and diagnosis on my car. Being a woman coming into a mechanic is scary but Frank is so honest and gives a fair price. I ll always bring my car here in any event. Thank you!!!

Girl friendlyI was so nervous when the light for air on my tires put up less than two weeks after I had gotten new tires and air from another auto shop and of course very confused. I called on a Sunday to see if they had someone that could check and if needed put air on my tires, and someone very friendly answered the phone, I had called multiple places that were open and no one had answered so I was very happy already. When I went to put air on my tires One of the workers check my tires and provided excellent service and it turned out that the tires that were new were over filled and the old ones needed air. This service was free although I was more than happy to pay because of how fast they resolved the issue and how friendly and professional the staff were. I tried to tip and they refused although I really wanted to because as a girl I get very nervous about this car stuff and they really just took care of it. If I ever need anything fixed in my car this is place that I will go and you should too! :)Service: Tires

Came in to rebalance tires after another shop could not get my brand new tires to stop vibrating on the highway. Miguel was super professional, courteous, and took the vehicle down the right path of:1) Doing a diagnostic inspection2) Narrowing down the issue to the wheel/tire package and not the suspension3) Verifying that the rims were not bent, and checking the previous balance, which was found to be out of spec.If the shop follows the same procedure and diagnostic steps for every repair, using this simple one as an example, it will save the customer money and provide a high level of service. They have earned my repeat business.Service: Tires

Miguel, Frank, and Sam have been awesome over the past two weekends. Last weekend I went in for shocks, tires, and an alignment. All turned out awesome. I had asked to have new windshield wipers installed. The front worked out, but thd clip broke on the back. They were awesome and worked with me to order the part and took care of installing it and making it right. I was there again this weekend for a power steering line. They have prices that beat many other places I contacted and their customer service is o point. I would definitely recommend this place if you need tires or auto repair. Ill definitely be going back in the future if I need repairs. Thanks again for the awesome service.

They were a godsend. No appt, and they helped me when I really needed it. I appreciate the manager Miguel he was awesome as was the mechanics there, they went far beyond my expectations. I had a safe 12 hr. trip back to Oregon from there

Had some concerns over the PSI / pressure in my tires after a warning light came on in my car. After seeing a news report about people blowing themselves up trying to fill their own tires I turned into the shop to have them take a look over and they were happy to check my tire pressure and adjusted it accordingly and I was happy to pay but they didn't charge me. Real friendly and helpful manager.

I walked into Firestone and was 2nd in line when Frank was finished was 1st customer and they left he was rude and said nothing to me how rude. Then when he came back and greeted us rudely he also tried to argue with type of oil to use when I know which one to use cuz my last oil change was done at a Firestone in chandler Arizona. I paid $65 for high mileage synthetic oil and he told me I needed a full synthetic which is $115. He was very rude and how do you get to work with customers and have a bad attitude.Service: Oil change

Husband took his vehicle in twice. The problem started in Arizona with that Firestone doing a poor job replacing his brake pads. We have since moved to San Diego and he brought in his vehicle to this location to see if they could fix the awful noise coming from the new brakes. Two months later and the brakes are making the same awful noise again so be brought it into this same location since they had supposedly fixed it. He is a teacher so he has not been driving his vehicle this summer since he has not had to commute. The employee, Miguel, tells my husband that he is an aggressive driver and that's why the brakes keep getting messed up. My husband tries to explain to him that he has not been driving his car so that is not true and Miguel was very rude and talking down to him! He even added this rude comment alluding to my husband being the problem on the invoice. That is completely disrespectful and unprofessional. The problem is the brakes were not fixed correctly in the first place. We are DONE with Firestone. Beware of Miguel at this location as we heard him being rude to other customers before us as well.

Liars and cheaters. Go anywhere else! I went in because I wanted to change my brake pads they said my drums needed to be changed. Over $1,000 later and The car would shake so bad 2 days after they changed them, when I went back in they said the drum was out of round, which is their fault, they gave me a bad drum. They tried to shave it down I guess because they didn t replace it. It was on for about 2,000 miles. Here I am 3 years later and only about 15,000 miles later and the car shakes soooo bad when I hit the brakes even at 20 mph. They swindled me out of my money and now I believe the car isn t safe to drive. Every time I go to Firestone my car needs at least $600 of work. Go ANYWHERE ELSE! They WILL CHEAT YOU!

Quick service on a tire change.I called in the morning looking for an OEM tire for my car, and was told they can have it in the store around noon. No waiting on the line like other big stores. And it was quite a surprise, considering other tire stores or Walmart needs a week to get it shipped. I went in and after a quick chat and inspection of the broken tire, I was told it'd be ready in 1.5hrs or so. In fact, it only took them a bit over an hour to fix it.COVID safety is also well practiced here, with technicians bring plastic cover when moving my vehicle and all personnel wearing masks.They did try to sell me extra protection plans and asked me if I want the dirty air filter changed, which I politely declined and they were okay with it.Overall, a good place for a quick service vs long appointment at dealer and saved $40 on the same brand tire vs dealer's quote. I'd recommend this place.
