Chris and his team are amazing. Period. So knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I brought them a very unique project that most shops scoffed at. They are masters of their craft and took the job without hesitation. It was easy to describe my goals and they executed the plan perfectly. If you need any transmission work bring you vehicle here. Don t think twice. Do it.

These guys are awesome! I ve been bringing my cars here for trans maintenance and repairs for years.They are always very fair and communicative and I know they re honest.Most importantly, I can count on the work they perform on my vehicles.

Has transmission in their name, literally does not service transmissions.. Only rebuilds.. staff let me wait 6 minutes at an empty front desk before letting me know that. No recommendation for assistance other than try google or maybe call first next time . Not great..

Best customer service experience I have had at an automotive shop. Chris was honest and extremely helpful. I thought my Jeep was having major transfer case issues but Chris found the real issue which wasn't nearly as in depth and got me back on the road. READ THIS REVIEW: Dr. Trans is the kind of shop that most car guys spend their lives looking for. Let me save you the time. Chris and his team will not stop until your project, daily driver or pride & joy is repaired and reliable. They go above and beyond with attention to detail and skill when it comes to their diagnostic and repair services. They did a complete rebuild of my 727 Torqueflight in my 1965 Satellite. It s a performance transmission and not every shop can work on these (despite what they say). Chris brought the knowledge, experience and passion to the table and the project was a success. His shop is spotless (as a trans shop should be) and his work reflects the same attention to detail. His pricing is fair and you absolutely get the best for your money. Do yourself a favor and just take your car here so you know it s done right the first time.

Edit to review:After being refused service due to my too many questions, I got a second opinion. They saved me THOUSANDS. It was simply a plastic piece within my transmission that needed to be replaced, NOT an entire rebuild as Chris at Dr Trans had quoted. I got the repair plus a couple others to get it in tip top shape, and pause for my rental of 2 months for LESS than what they told me. They base business off of no questions. Always a good idea to GET A SECOND OPINION.Original review:Was quoted a minimum and maximum price for repairs then when discussing moving forward was told it would definitely be $1000 higher than the minimum price quoted. Then when I called later to start repairs I waited for a return call, then was denied service. This is incredibly unprofessional, especially when it comes to thousands of dollars being handled. Would never recommend. Misleading and rude in time of need.

Chris and his team are what a family operated shop that has been in business for 30ish years should be. They have pride and passion for the work they do, fair prices, go the extra mile to make sure everything is solid and ready to go. They did a custom rebuild for my bronco at a very fair price and very quickly. I highly recommend these guys and will be bringing all my cars here for related work from now on. Worth the drive!

Excellent honest service. I recently bought a jeep and suspected i had clutch issues. I took the vehicle in for evaluation and afterward was told there were no issues. It turns out its just a matter of me getting used to a new vehicle and the clutch release point. There was no charge for the tests and diagnosis. I highly recommend DrTrans. If i ever DO need service I know where to go.

The best of the best.Incredibly knowledgeable and thorough.We brought in a rare porsche 901 Getrag gear box that was being used in a 1973 race car. Chris completed a full tear down and inspection. Parts were rare enough that we would needed to order them from Germany (very expensive). After numerous calls with Chris he suggested we come in so that he could show us a few details. All the parts had been meticulously cleaned and organized. He had labeled the factory schematic with all the parts he required. He wanted to show us challenges associated with tolerances and details that most would never even consider including the state of the surface hardening of several compoments.It was because of these small details that we opted to go with a more modern alternative. As a result Dr Trans has saved us a lot of money and headache going forwards. If you want confidence that you can push your vehicle to the limit and hold it there without having any concerns regarding your gear box go to Dr Trans.

I was a referral from another mech shop, and I'm glad they referred me to them because Dr Trans completely took care of my truck. During a follow up Chris also installed a new failing part free of charge. Family owned and very trustworthy. Thanks again Chris.

I had brought my vehicle to the location because they were going to do a "Free Diagnostics" on my transmission. They later gave me an Estimate of the repair. I asked, What did they see wrong and issues? They said, "We didn't touch the car yet?" So I asked how do they know whats wrong with it. Its what they thought may be wrong with the car. So I paid for tow to get my car there for what they could have told me over the phone. Go to Kearny Mesa A&H Specialist instead.

After having the dealer charge me $100 to connect their ODB-II analyzer to the car and tell me it would be $3,900 to repair I called Chris at Dr. Trans. He laid out all the different scenarios for me, including a minimum cost and a maximum cost. I brought the car in and they took a closer look. In the end, my wife and I decided it wasn't worth it to fix the car. When I pulled out my credit card to cover Dr. Trans' investigation, Chris said no charge, it was just too bad he couldn't help me. If I have transmission troubles with either of my other vehicles, I'll be taking them to Dr. Trans first!

Went to get my 06 Accord trans fluid changed along with the some pressure switches that needed to get replaced. I was initially worried about getting the flush, but I was told that there's no added pressure on the internals so my Honda was going to survive the flush. The mechanic also stated he had to contact Honda to get updated color-coding references for the pressure switches which was a relieve because some lesser shops wouldn't have checked. He also cleared up a misconception I had about my car for me as well. Overall, a very professional shop that knows what they're doing. I wager any transmission is a safe transmission in their hands. 11/10, never been happier and my trans feels sooo much smoother. Job well done.

These guys are the nicest "car people" I've ever met. I had my car at car max and they couldn't fix the problems. They referred me to Dr trans. Dr. Trans went out of their way to pick up my car and bring it to their shop. Their diagnosis was free and ended up showing no transmission problems. Not only did they not charge me, call me and tell me where to take it, they printed out a list of recalls that were available to my vehicle. I was extremely impressed. Honestly I was a bit disappointed I didnt have any transmission issues and I couldn't keep my car there. Haha. GO HERE FOR ALL TRANSMISSION WORK!

2019 Navigator L with multiple codes...shop couldn't guarantee that a $600 transmission service would help but it has... shifting perfectly. The alternative is $7k+-

Great service, my transmission went out they were able to repair it rather than install an exchange, and save me quite a bit of money . In and out in 2 days. I highly recommend the shop to my family and friends.

We are a transmission shop in Lake Havasu Arizona. When a customer of ours traveled to the San Diego area and had a slight problem, the guys at Dr Trans took great care of her for us! They were polite, efficient, and quick. If the need ever arises again we will definitly call on you

I had the transmission, in my 85 vette, rebuilt by Dr. Trans and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They will work to resolve the problem and are reliable to get the job done.

Transmission flush on '02 Ram. Overall good experience. Friendly staff and work completed within quoted time frame. Identified issue with 4WD sensor circuit.

I have known Chris at Dr Trans for a long time. I have inspected alot of transmissions at his shop for extended warranty companies and found he is one of the most honest people i have ever known--and boy do they know there transmissions,
