I'ved been a loyal customer at Richmond Smog for years, and the experience has consistently been top-notch. Hugo, the owner, is fantastic always friendly, professional, and efficient. The service is quick, and I appreciate the attention to detail. Richmond Smog is my go-to for smog checks, and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of reliable and friendly service

Richmond Smog is a great place to get your car smogged. Vince was sweet and helpful. My daughter s car passed and she got a certificate. Good price, quick service, free bottle of water while you wait, and excellent customer service by Vince. I would highly recommend this place.

Don't be put off by the full parking lot. Those are customers for the garage next door (on the left). I was in and out immediately. But there's still plenty of parking at the back of the lot if there's a line. This is a one-man shop so call ahead in case he's out getting lunch or running an errand.Service: Smog certificationService: Smog certification

Always my goto spot for smog, reasonable prices and quick service. Located behind the auto parts store on the avenue and a repair place in the next bay and a laundromat on the other side with snacks and a restroom! Give them a try!

First off, I drive an electric car so no, I didn't actually need their services but I pulled in because I had a flat tire and thought that Richmond Smog was part of the larger neighboring repair shop.Even though I wasn't in the right place, I was greeted and helped with a lot of kindness. It was lunch time so not a lot of mechanics were around/available to plug my tire at the neighboring repair shop.Nevertheless, the Richmond Smog owner took it upon himself to look for a free mechanic, which didnt pan out in the end. He offered to put air back into the tire so I could make it safely down the road to the repair shop he suggested. All in all, awesome service and believe me, even though I have car mechanics in the family, I enter these establishments always with bit of trepidation, mainly due to my own car know-how insecurities but also some bad experiences and rip-offs in the past.So if you happen to NOT drive an electric car and you need a Smog check, this is the place and conveniently located to boot, right near the I-80 San Pablo Ave exit.It's these moments of utter helplessness like a flat tire with no spare (thank you VW) that can illuminate the core goodness of humanity. I found this goodness and pride in its service at Richmond Smog.

Honest guy, sometimes the scanner may not be working or shot might be closed but it's a good idea to call and then go. He's flexible and customer service oriented

Came here this weekend after I read the positive reviews. I was a little unsure about the area but once I got there, I realized it was a safe place. Hugo was very easy going and professional. Enjoyed his conversation and well-done service. I don't usually write reviews, but I believe he deserved his cudos :)

Really, really quick and efficient! I told Hugo that I had a DMV appointment to bring in my smog test and he did his best to not take too long. I definitely recommend this place and WILL come back

Don't ever go here they have no idea what they are doing! I have many friends who a BAR refs and they always tell me this shop is shady and they pay off the right people to stay open do not support these scam artists
