Best demo experience. Made my entire Palisades trip better. Absolutely stoked after dealing with the team at this independently owned ski shop. Way better than the last time we dealt with a village shop. The space was great for getting what we needed and onto the mountain quickly and with better gear than I ever understood I could like. There demo to own program is a hidden secret.

My friends and I rented bikes, all three were working and a few miles in my bike started to be faulty and not change gears correctly. We called and they offered little help aside from recommending I don t change gears.The bike team was not accommodating when we came back and charged us full price. I would recommend looking elsewhere for bike rentals

Outstanding confident help. My son and I came out from mi to chase may snow. It was fantastic and these guys here hooked us perfectly. hooked us up with the right equipment and the best

This place is the best. The owner is an absolute goat, they will hook you up at any chance they get, and they have a crazy good selection. If you need any kind of ski gear at squaw, I can t imagine going to a better place. Long live Olympic valley ski and bike.

Friendly & welcoming staff who give great, honest advice and genuinely care about making sure you have the best mountain experience!! Love The Backcountry in Truckee and the vibe is just as good at it's sister store in the Valley!

I had a pair of skis I was going to throw away because I left them outside for a long time, and I brought them in. The technicians here are excellent, professional and so very kind. My skis look amazing, totally refurbished. Thank you Jay and Evan, I appreciate your help so much. This place is the best, DO NOT go anywhere else.

Owner is a very nice guy! Helped us out for half an hour with the helmets and the bikes, and was super understanding of my shy sister.
