First time using West Oceanside Automotive and was very impressed by their team. Johny was very informative and friendly, I felt like I was talking to a friend and not some rep trying to up sell me. I think they just earned another returning customer.

I received an estimate for $5500 from another auto repair shop in Vista. West Automotive saved me more than $4000 by correctly testing, identifying the problem, and repairing my car. I appreciate the customer service, honesty and quality work provided by West Automotive. Visit them first - for all your repair needs.

Truly awful service. Was told they couldn t hear the problem in our tranny after test driving it around all over town, made us come to the shop to show them the issue. Charged us $150 for diagnostics. But when asked what they did to diagnose they refused to tell us. Took it to another tranny shop and had the MAJOR problems totally repaired in 4 days.

First let me say I came to West Oside Automotive as a walk in around 9am, on a day where they seemed very busy. I was greeted by the very friendly staff and they agreed they could get me in for an oil change, coolant flush, and spark plug change. The tech estimated the job would take 2-3 hours pretty normal.6 hours later I called in asking the status and was told the tech was on lunch and would get a call back when he was back. Another 30 minutes later the tech estimated it would take another hour and half. I probably would have done this service myself if I knew it was gonna take all day. I understand it can be tricky working in an extra vehicle into the rotation but over promising and under delivering was the issue here.To be fair the work seemed to be done with care, and they have a lot of master techs here that I imagine can fix any vehicle problem you have. It s just that for the price I paid (higher than a lot of other shops locally) I expectedmore from this team for a few simple jobs. I would be happy to upgrade this review if I have another experience in the future, but I won t be rushing to come back.

It was rough - had to replace my transmission and then my alternator - but the whole team was really nice to deal with and I feel like they did a good job despite me not wanting to spend so much on my car this week! I liked that they asked me to come back for follow up checks to make sure everything is working properly.

Their staff completed a simple drain and fill on my transmission. Everyone was so kind and they serviced my car in a reasonable amount of time. I look forward to taking my car in for future automotive services.

I had an incredible experience at Oceanside Automotive and Transmission. They fixed my transmission for 2k-3k less than the other shop I visited for a diagnosis/fix. They also found a leak elsewhere in my car that potentially led to the check engine light coming on. The other shop did not even find the leak! I will only take my vehicle here for all transmission issues (and non-transmission issues) from now on. Thanks for your swift help!

Would not trust this mechanic. They charged me almost $3500 for transmission work that did not fix my vehicle's condition. Misdiagnosed the problem and refused to own it. Stuck me with the full bill and offered no help. Extremely poor experience

My dodge charger was over heating and went to go get it fixed, paid for it and everything then came got the car a few trips later it happened again. Friendly staff! The 4L60e transmission replacement on a GM truck totaled +$8,500 which is extremely high by what I m told. I suppose if money is not a concern for you, then they will be happy to do the work.

They were extremely fast and helpful getting my vehicle repaired. I was upset that they charged a $150 diagnostic, and despite doing the work at the shop didn t apply that towards repairing the vehicle as essentially every other mechanic shop does. Due to this I likely won t bring any of the other vehicles in my fleet to have repaired. But they were very nice, smart and honest with their work.Service: Transmission

I brought my 2017 Grand Cherokee to West Automotive for what I thought was an issue with a radiator leak. The team was able to determine that it wasn t a radiator leak but a hydraulic leak from a hydraulic motor mount. Honestly, didn t even know that was a thing lol. The worked with my warranty provider to facilitate the repair and got it back to me in a reasonable time. Pleasant to work with all around. Okay since you keep texting and emailing here is my review. I wish someone could have explained the multiple price increases. The day before pick up someone went over everything over the phone for a final total it was higher than quoted but I thought maybe it was taxes fees or something else.The following day I went in to pick up my vehicle expecting the total to be what was finalized over the phone, however my bill was an additional $200 for a second price increase and the person at the front desk could not tell me what it was for. Maybe in this town $200 is pocket change and an easy amount to sneak in on people's bills. I never got a phone call to update me about it, I just paid and left not sure I would come back to this business. They also told me one of my tires needed bearings/ hub assembly/ I declined the service since the price quote seemed high and it was a transmission shop. I took my vehicle to a tire shop that quoted half their price and it turns out my bearings were fine what I needed was shocks. Their transmission work seems good so far but its really very soon after having the work done. They were friendly and good about answering the phone and returning calls.Service: Transmission repair

Our transmission failed one year into a 3 year warranty from the previous business at this premises. West automotive honored that warranty and also installed a new transfer case that needed to be replaced. They didn't charge us labor for the extra work since they already had the transfer case out due to transmission. The staff were friendly and courteous which was a pleasant surprise as I find staff at most automotive repair shops usually need some customer service training, whereas this team all treated us promptly and politely. Would definitely recommend and we will use them for our other automotive repairs and services in future.Service: Transmission repair

My shop in Georgia had to do a warranty repair for a nationwide warranty on a transmission they built a couple years ago while the customer was stationed in California. The transmission lost a gear due to a new part failure, which unfortunately tends to happen occasionally in any business these days, but Bobby and the management at Oceanside made the process as smooth as possible and what's most important is that our mutual customer is completely satisfied with the whole process with my shop and with Oceanside. Would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area. Honest and professional.

Battery was not secured with bracket correctly had to ask for wrenches to secure it myself qc is lacking but overall everything else seems to work but I asked if everything else was tight and they said I hope so. I understand it's hard to find good techs that stay at a shop for longer than a year. And I had the transmission done with oceanside transmission before they were bought out by west automotive group but if you have work done and have an awesome auto technician just have them look everything over afterwards it's worth it transmission are like open Heart surgery any good tech could forget something.Service: Transmission

There isn't a transmission shop in the world as great as these folks. They squared my H2 away perfectly. The customer service is 2nd to none. Really. Crazy awesome people. Dart is a Saint and truly cares about your ride and the work they do. I could go on an on an on. Super happy with the transmission rebuild. Smooth as silk.So, in closing, be sure to go to them for your repairs. I'm always nervous about taking my vehicle to a mechanic. It's always a stressful situation. These guys rocked it. They got my van in quickly and did a complete rebuild in under 3 days. Highly impressed and would gladly recommend them to anyone.

Oceanside Transmission was recommended to me by a mobile mechanic with a great reputation; he said they are a trustworthy full service transmission shop and would save me money over the dealership (of course I was doing everything to avoid going there).Dart was very kind, patient and took his time explaining things to me over the phone, not to mention that he listened to everything I had to say without ever sounding like he had something else he had to get to.They continued living up to this standard until I got the car back from them after going in for my appointment. I know my baby is in great hands with mechanics who will take me seriously, treat me with respect and not rip me off.
