This was my first and most likely not last vehicle purchased from Novato Toyota. Our sales associate Richard was very helpful and thorough. My wife and I had been looking for a Rav4 Prime for quite awhile now and were even on a waiting list after placing a deposit at another Toyota dealership. While surfing Novato Toyota's website I came across the exact build we had been looking for and within 24 hours I drove home with our New Rav4 Prime XSE in Blueprint. If you are looking for an easy and friendly car buying experience go to Novato Toyota and ask for Richard....

Great customer service experience in the service department. Everyone was kind. Johnny was the service advisor that provided me with all the necessary details and information I needed. Gavin gave me transportation from the dealership to my job down the road. Both very sweet and respectful. Thanks again! Will definitely be coming back here for any of my future services.

This was the best car experience I ever had at a dealership in my life I told them what I was looking for and the very first car that they brought out to me is the one I bought because they paid attention to what I wanted what I needed and they weren't trying to push something on me to accommodate them making a car sale and getting commission it was great all the way around and I love those people. They made the whole thing just really simple really easy and I drove off in a SUV that I just love

So This is my review so far from here this Will change within the month so please scroll down after March 31st(If I buy from them)For the most part the times I have contacted them they have responded within reason time, have been very professional and answered my questions about the car I had in mind. (Keep in mind this is a VW from a trade in)The cons so far1. There Prices are set so they said even in Cash2. When I first called they front desk did not know if my car was in stock, I was confused because for the most prat (at least with my experience) you can look it up in the system to see if the car is available or going through the process of being bought.3. IDK if I called during a busy time but I had to call again for my call to be picked up.Over all a positive experience with them so far, seems like your average dealership trying to get you their mark ups.

Had a really amazing experience buying a vehicle from Novato Toyota this past week. I had been looking for a 2023 Toyota Tacoma V6 6 Speed Manual and located one out of my home state of WA at Novato Toyota. I was connected with Richard in sales and from there things went impressively smooth. Richard's guidance and help really was exceptional. Richard also connected me with April in finance and the two worked as a team to close the sale quickly and precisely. Out of state ship-to-destination sales are not simple and the Novato Toyota team made it happen without issue and with open, timely, and courteous communication. Thank you!

I am extremely happy with the service I received from Novato Toyota! I live in Ventura County CA and had been looking for a specific Tacoma (2023 Black SR5 V6 4x4 Long Bed) but could not find it anywhere close to me, or at all. Late evening December 30th I was searching on line and found it at Novato Toyota, new in stock. On New Year's Eve, as soon as they opened I called Kris O'Brien (General Sales Manager) directly, and told him I was interested and ready to buy. Kris was very professional, answered all my questions and focused on my wants and needs only, and quickly got my purchase started. Sheila Penrose (Finance Manager) was very nice, helpful and easy going. She did not try selling me anything I did not want and made the process super fast and easy. Considering that it was New Year's Eve and were very busy, I really appreciate them taking the time to accommodate me in such a prompt manner. On New Year's Day, Thomas Nave (Product Specialist) reached out and notified me that my truck was being Inspected/Detailed and would be ready for pick up the following day. I booked a morning flight that was supposed to land at 3pm, but got delayed 3 times. Thomas kept in contact with me the whole time, and assured me that he would stay after closing time if need be. I wound up arriving over an hour after closing time and Thomas still greeted me with an easy going, positive attitude "Cool Guy". We quickly got the final documents signed, he explained all the details, and in no time I was driving back to Ventura County in my beautiful brand new Tacoma. This by far was the most easy going, Stress/Hassle free experience I have ever had purchasing a vehicle. Thanks again guys, you guys were great!!I "HIGHLY HIGHLY" recommend Novato Toyota, to anyone looking to have a great experience with the purchase of their new vehicle.

Horrible sales and customer service. Made an agreement for car pricing and as I am on the way to purchase (pre approved) they change the pricing to higher amount and said it was an "error" even tho I had written proof of the "final price". Sales rep Hugh advised me if I don't like I can turn my car around and go home ( I was already driving and about halfway there 1.5 hour one way!). I stated I didn't appreciate the rudeness yet due the the fact I need that car I would still purchase. 0 empathy 0 assistance on delivery. Car was out of alignment and had to take to a local dealer whom had to correct. Frame already had damage( deep scratch with rust) yet they won't fix. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience and customer service by sales and management!

They provided a verbal quote, and when we arrived from Sacramento, they honored the quote! Then the sales process, although long as always, was very friendly and very respectful.

Unlike other dealerships I reached out to, they were willing to honor the advertised sales price on Cargurus for a new Toyota I bought from them. Considering the current car market, this is an honorable thing to do from their side. The salesman I worked with was Richard. He and his manager were both great and very helpful with the whole purchasing process. They were always willing to do their best to ensure customer satisfaction. I came all the way from Seattle to buy the car due to shortage, they helped out with everything I needed, made sure that everything is alright and in the way I wanted in a short time frame and got me on my way back to Seattle. If you are buying a Toyota call Novato Toyota and ask for Richard!

This is honestly the best dealer experience I've ever had. Particularly the service department -- I've been bringing my RAV4 here for 2 years. Reasonably priced, responsive, and easy to work with. Highly recommend

06/03/23 TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. Today I met the most rudest salesman by the name of HUGH. This is my 3rd time shopping for a car, and this salesman has been the worst I ve ever experienced. If you decide to come here please do business with a different salesman.

I was at Toyota Marin last Saturday 4/29 at about 3:30 PM. I went out with Hugh on a blue Mazda 3. Great car, I wanted to buy it. I thought we agreed on price, and then while my friend Anthony and I were having lunch, Hugh added on a low Mileage adjustment of $2300 to the advertised price on CarGurus. We walked when it was apparent the salesman wasn't joking.Apparently Kelly Blue Book and Car Gurus give considerably different prices. I assumed that you would follow the Car Gurus price as advertised. Apparently not. That would be called false advertising by many . To be honest with you, I don't trust Toyota Novato after that.I went to Fairfield Subaru on my way home, who advertised a low mileage Mazda 3. It had worn out seats, and a badly damaged steering wheel. It looked like they modified the Odometer reading. They, like you, would not negotiate without the Low Mileage adjustment, even though the car obviously had much more wear than they stated in their advertisement.I still like your Mazda 3, I would give you a much higher rating if you would stick to your original CarGurus price, and not add on hidden charges. The CarGurus prices already reflects low mileage. This "low mileage" surcharge is double billing.

Didn't want to do full prepaid from toyota 60k service because it was "not worth" for them and directed me to the dealership where I purchased it far away... I was told where I bought it no dealership should do it to me. San rafael dealership will do it btw fyi...

They did a great job at my 135k mile inspection. They don't try to cheat you that's why I like it there. They found something hidden deep in my car from the previous owner so that was a plus!It's been about 3k or 4k more miles and now I got a transmission fluid change. Fast and courteous service

Amazing experience - Staff is super friendly and honest - Pablo did a great job of inspecting my car and providing an estimate upfront along with the timeline for the repair . Liam and Richard were excellent shuttle drivers. Very courteous. Car was given a car wash before the keys were handed back to me .

MIXED REVIEW HERE: I stopped in here to look at a car which I test drove and did not like. Courteous salespeople then showed me another more expensive vehicle that was exactly what I was looking for. Easy buying process. They sold me this very nice car at a fair price which I paid in full with no haggling. Great financing and I even bought an additional warranty.BUT THEN- I got home and looked at the deal details. Turns out that they had shortchanged me on my exceptionally immaculate Toyota trade-in... $2000 less than the KBB mid-range trade-in valuation. In fact- they gave me $1000 below the BOTTOM of the KBB trade-in range! Heck- even their OWN website's "What's your trade in worth? feature showed this same discrepancy (!) ****HOWEVER**** missing this was MY fault- not theirs!Do your homework before you visit this (any) dealer AND keep it at your fingertips when negotiations get rolling! And keep on your toes, don't get lulled off like I did.EPILOG- I just traded in my immaculate 2018 Sequoia Platinum for a new 2023 Sequoia. I'd been waiting years for it to be released. This is my 3rd new Sequoia!.....BUT I bought it at at different Toyota dealer, down in SoCal.

My car was serviced while I took a walk and then sat on an outdoor bench, feeling grateful for the view and the nice weather. The service was first rate, as usual. The waiting room is available and the place was uncrowded, but I appreciated the availability of outdoor seating. They recommend making an appointment on line or by phone.

Im not usually one to write reviews, but Novato Toyota definitely deserves one. I purchased a 2021 Rav4 Hybrid recently and absolutely love it! We like to support local dealerships, and recently moved to Novato so we figured we would give Novato Toyota a try.We were greeted by Hugh, and at first he seemed nice. Then as we talked about finances(prior to even going for a test drive) he treated us as if we didn't know what we were talking about. Using cliche statements like, "Trust me, Ive been in the business for 25 years" and "That color will always cost more." It was clear we wouldn't be buying form him. So we took our business to Petaluma, and were treated much better and made comfortable. We have been taking our car to the service department and have been pleasantly surprised till our most recent visit. Took it in to have work done on the mirrors and now the doors are a bit "off" and there is more road noise than before. They also failed to wash the car, and there is epoxy on the door. Unfortunate to say the least. We will continue to support other dealerships for our next car purchase.
