The most beautiful motel I've ever had the pleasure to stay at , has a 50 southwestern style feel to the property, everything is brand new and remodeled. They have a beautiful restaurant on site that serves amazing food , there is a heated pool . They even have bikes you can ride into town . Hotel staff are so so friendly and made our stay perfect. Love this place . The rooms have fireplaces inside and a patio fireplace as well as an outdoor shower. Private patios in the back of rooms Rooms: The rooms were so cozy and clean , gas fireplace inside and outside on the private patio, as well as an outdoor shower. Newly renovated rooms top of the line everything so beautiful as well.Nearby activities: Los Alamos is 3 minutes away by car 6 minutes in a bike which they have to borrow Safety: Extremely safe area , such a quaint small town feel to itWalkability: Very walkable and bicycle friendlyFood & drinks: Good and drinks available onsite at their amazing restaurantNoteworthy details: The views are out of this world beautiful , green rolling hills as far as you can see in wine country surrounded by vineyards

Our sheets had some make up stains, the room was really small and the TV remote didn't work. The overhead fan didn't work either. There is one person working for the motel and he took 90 minutes to get to us and deal with the remote. He tried to fix it for ten minutes then offered to move us. So we moved and usually I would think we'd be upgraded for the trouble since barely anyone else was staying there but we were in basically the same room but with working electronics. The pool does look nice but the weather wasn't great for swimming. The restaurant is ok, nice drinks, good service, but the food was disappointing. Riding the bikes into town is fun. Ultimately not worth the money for a return visit, mostly a good place for your Instagram pictures. It was quiet. I can see this being a good spot for multi-room groups as there are a few hangout areas on the property.

We enjoyed our two night stay here. We had a classic room, and while it was small, it did it s job and was comfortable for two. I do wish we had a patio, as all the rooms open to each other and it just felt either too dark with the blind closed or too exposed to everyone walking past the room with them open. Also found it weird that there were no extra locks on the door. Normally there s a latch in addition to the deadbolt. It was overall quiet and beautiful property. We ll decorated and the vibes we re a 10/10. Would stay here again, just might consider upgrading to a larger room/patio.Nearby activities: The town of Los Alamos is small, but has some good restaurants. Quick drive to Solvang, sant Ynez or Los Olivos. So many options.Walkability: There are bikes available and I would suggest those over walking. While the town is near, you do need to go under the freeway. If you re up for a stroll and a few hills, then it s definitely doable.Food & drinks: The restaurant on site was wonderful. We only had dinner here, but thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

I ve been excited to stay at the Skyview for years but I left really disappointed after my 2night stayPositives:-The room was cute, clean and comfortable-Dog friendly-Great service at Norman the restaurant-The viewCons:-The woman working the front desk at checkout was so rude and unhelpful-SO many hidden fees that were never communicated about upfront. I was shocked by my final bill-No mini fridge to keep food or opened wine bottles cold. Not imperative but would be nice considering you come to Los Alamos for the food and wine.Overall, the value doesn t feel worth the cost to me.

We stayed here for 1 night in October 2023 with our dog and wished we had more time. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the rooms are so pretty! The bed was very comfortable and our classic king bedroom had everything you need for a comfortable night stay. The restaurant on the property was good too and we loved being able to bring our dog inside. The pool area looked great, even though we didn t use it. The free glass of wine upon check in on the deck overlooking the mountains was much more incredible than we could have ever thought. If this property would be further from the highway , it would be a luxury resort! The noise from the highway is definitely present, but luckily the rooms have very good windows that block out most of the noise. Some things to consider: the pricing isn t very transparent, on the website it is advertised as about 200 for a room and we ended up paying 350 (including 50 dollars for pet fee.) the other 100 dollars are taxes and fees. So it ended up being more expensive than I initially thought. I would have loved to have breakfast included for that much money (they give a voucher for 10 dollars in the restaurant, which is a nice touch).

If this was a restaurant review it would be a 5/5- loved the food and the staff there were so friendly! Literally eat or drink anything there and it was spectacular! However, reviewing the motel experience the staff during check in and check out were not friendly and very rude. We were told wrong information multiple times and there was just a general lack of customer service on both the check in and check out process. The parking was a mess and unorganized. If you have people with disabilities with you, please look at the parking set up prior or call. You may be parking on the side of a very steep hill. Our room was cute and the bed very clean and comfortable but the bathroom was not cleaned well and I wiped it all down myself. The pool and aesthetic were very cute, just know the customer service is not great.

Lovely oasis in the area. Rooms are beautiful and clean. Restaurant food is very good. Although it was clearly called out that the pool area was for over 21s only, we were in our own with our 11 year old (who was behaving better than most of the adults in our party) we were still asked to leave the pool area. I can understand if there was anyone else in the pool area but we were completely alone.

Found this amazing gem by chance as I needed a 1 night getaway. Located close enough to LA (where I live) for a night or 2 stay, but a world away in feel and vibe. The motel is small and intimate. Perched on a hill (hence the Skyview name) and surrounded by vineyards and rolling fields full of live oak trees, it really is a beautiful setting. But the best part is the motel itself. It's beautifully landscaped and maintained, with a pool, restaurant/bar, many common area seating areas (even a lovely firepit area with plenty of seating around it).Rooms are very nice- clean, well furnished and true to the 1950's vibe but also modern and fresh. The best thing though is the way the staff treated me. Warm, friendly, and truly invested in the enjoyment of my visit. Very special shout-out to Priscilla. She checked me in and instantly made me feel welcomed and comfortable. She really went the "extra mile" to make sure my stay was special and memorable. Thank you!!I am already planning a return visit and will probably be joined by several friends as I want them all to experience this very special place.(other perks: close to Los Olivos, Santa Barbara, wineries, etc. But honestly, bring a swimsuit, a good book/friends, and plan on not leaving the motel until you are required to at check-out LOL)

Returning guest! Great memories and experience in 2019, and wanted to book another visit for 2023! Christa took the call for my reservation, and went out of her way to help arrange all the details. The personal touch just from the phone call, made me feel like the staff truly cares about their guests and giving them a great experience ! It isn't just "booking a room" but it is having an employee that felt like a friend on the other line. Kindness is still very present at the Skyline!

Such a nice hotel to hang out for a long weekend. Some of the rooms have a private fire pit and outdoor shower overlooking the hills where there are horses. The pool is saltwater and nice and warm. Great cocktails, food and service.

Matt made checkin seamless and welcoming. The space is gorgeous. Mountain View s, beautiful landscaping details, fire pits, seating areas, very nice patio area off the welcome area. The exterior of the lodge is clean modern and the interior is done so well. Clean modern lines, nice linens, (perhaps some pillow options for sleeping would be nice) beautiful shower, robes and toiletries. Once there we didn t want to leave. Pool-Beautiful. Guac and chips and cocktails poolside. (Pool was super relaxing.) Amazing! Dinner was the one area where I felt they didn t quite hit the mark. It was good, just not out of the park great. The fire pit and a coffee was amazing. We used the bikes to bike into town for breakfast at bobs bread. It was such a wonderful time away. Simply excellent. Thank you!

I wish I could give this remodeled motel 4 stars . It s in a perfect setting with nice views and fresh air . The rooms were clean, updated and the pillows were very comfortable. The pool area was cute , small but poorly maintained . There were no clean towels for guest use . Unfortunately no bar service at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon ?! The facility fee of $20 is just not justified . The main reason I give it 3 stars is lack of customer service . It was lacking and it seemed that the receptionist at check out was just not interested. I won t be coming back unless I get a discounted rate for 3 star motel . Check before going if restaurant and bar service available . It was a ghost motel yesterday.

Very cool place to go. Hotel is very nice with outside showers. Lol kinda cool. The restaurant has awesome items and the best guacamole. Look it up and get there. I was just here again and such a cool place to hang out. I had the burger this time and it was good. I want to try the dinner menu one of these days, it looks so inviting.I just heard skyview is changing menu. Dont know what's in store but we should have some new items, so exciting to have new food. Dont let me forget the great chef and the awesome staff.People if you think this is that old run down motel from back in the day, it is not. Check out the remodeling and the great menu. Chips and guacamole is very good, along with the drinks. Try it all, you will be amazed by the food. Cheers!

Excellent views, yummy food (if you like steak, get the steak), clean rooms, well decorated rooms(get the room upgrade with the private patio and fire pit it was dreamy),and overall good energy on the property and with staff. If you have any customer service needs they will take care of it. And if they can t attend to them in the moment, they will find a way to make it right. Great customer service. Can t wait to return next month for another staycation.Ps- if you like gin, get the important date at the bar.

I had the pleasure of working with Britt to plan a small event for my parents 40th anniversary. Britt was so wonderful and responsive and made our event absolutely perfect! She was so accommodating and went above and beyond to make it very special. Peter, the restaurant manager, along with Franz, did such a wonderful job setting up and assisting our group throughout the night. The chef was amazing and we can't stop talking about how delicious the food was. Service, food and drinks were spectacular. Definitely a night to remember and highly recommend!

What a freaking find this was. Great views, great views and attentive staff. The restaurant is super top-notch. The pool is clean. The "community" feel of the public spaces really lends to impromptu acquaintance. My wife and I met a great group of people at the fire ring and had a blast. It's close to several great wineries and a great little bakery. There entire place was recently renovated and the quality of the fit-and-finish everywhere is evident. I can't wait to take more time off to visit this cool "motel" again ... Side note to the chef. Porsche guy will be back to try your rib-eye again!

Beware of hidden charges! We stayed over the Labor Day weekend and felt we were gouged with the $400/night charge, but the hotel was nice and they had a fun pool to lounge in. When we got home, we were shocked by how much we were charged additionally: $372 for a few drinks and minimal food orders. Then my bank account showed a charge of $154.09 which I didn't know what for so I called. They said that it was for the lotion, shampoo, conditioner that was in the bathroom. One bottle is $25 which is outrageous, but I just checked the contents, and the conditioner was only 1/3 full, so we paid full price for items that were being used over and over in the hotel room. The woman at the hotel said that it's listed on the bar cart, but seeing that we were charged that much for something most hotels offer free, I feel really taken advantage of as a couple just looking for a retreat. One night stay ended up costing us almost $1000.

Beautiful little hotel just off the highway, right in the middle of Southern California s wine country. Loved our room with private patio overlooking the valley. Hotel seemed to be taking COVID seriously which is great, however the pool reservation system doesn t seem to be monitored very well. When we did go to the pool most people seemed to be crowded on one side while the other half was wide open. That really was our only issue as it felt slightly unsafe. Other than that though the staff were amazing and friendly and we would definitely go back.

Overall: cool rooms [stay opposite the FWY], but not recommend for group bookings. We were one of the many couples to book for a wedding. We booked months in advance after the group finally got the group code sorted.... move up to the weekend of the event, Skyview s software moved our reservation up a day BEFORE our scheduled arrival. Given we did not arrive, our room was a no show and put up for general sale.We did not get a call, email, etc. about this.We showed up on the day of our original booking to find out that we did not have a room. This software snafu also affected another couple, who arrived just after us.LUCKILY, two other parties cancelled their weekend trip and we got their rooms. We did not get our preferred mountain side room, so we had to put up with the never ending sound of the 101 on our patio. At the end of the day, Skyview has the hotel handled but lacks sophisticated software and personnel to prepare for large group room blocks. In a wedding destination like Los Alamos, that can cost them a lot of revenue.
