They were very friendly and helpful explaining everything to us and giving us quality work for a very fair price. We didn't have to wait long and we're done within a couple of hours. The hospitality was great, offering coffee while we wait.

Automotive City is my go to auto shop. They are honest, knowledgeable, and communicative. I've had much work done on my cars here.Most recently, they gave me a safety inspection on my car gratis - which ended up only needed fluids topped off. I did have them fix the AC as well which was done in a very timely and affordable manner. And they were excellent at trouble shooting the issue!Service: A/C installation & repair

I needed somebody to look at my brakes, it was pretty much an emergency situation. Spencer said come in at the end of the day. I went down there. They put the car up and inspected everything. They did not find anything wrong, and when I tried to pay it was no charge. If I need something else done to my car, this is definitely on my go to list.Service: Vehicle Inspection

They saved me in fixing my AC. I was told last year that I needed an entire new system from another local mechanic. I went all last summer with no AC because what I was quoted was $2500 . I took my car to Automotive City and found I didn't need a new system and they fixed what needed to be fixed at a significant less amount. It was not even $200. I now have AC in my car again! Earlier this week I had issues involving my wheel hub so I took it here to figure out what was wrong. They quickly diagnosed the issue and gave me a fair rating to get it fixed, I was very happy considering they also fixed the same day. Ken and his employees were all very friendly, professional, and all communicated with me. The next day I got a follow up call to express any possible concerns that they wanted to double check which I appreciated. Overall the entire experience was stress free and I will definitely bring my vehicle to them for future maintenance.

Fuel pump replacement. Parts cost a little high. Service performed in reasonable amount of time. Car returned with a brake failure warning light that was not addressed by them. Did not have problem when car was dropped off but came home with this problem. Still not fixed

My suspension system started making weird noises while I was passing through Grass Valley, so I looked around for a mechanic to help me understand if it was safe to drive. I drove around for over an hour to every shop I could find, but since every shop was booked out for weeks I couldn't find any help. Automotive City was just as booked as everyone else, but they took the time to help me understand what was wrong with my car even though they couldn't fix it. I really appreciated the personal interaction and their sympathy with my situation. Thanks guys!

The guys here are great. Good up front communication, and great customer service. I would recommend them for anyone in the area. They also helped my wife and I with some warranty work on another job they did not do the initial work on. Ken and Spencer run a tight ship! Very professional, responsive, honest shop. I ve used them for my 3 vehicles for over 10 years and have been happy with their services. I feel that I can trust them to do what s necessary with my vehicles and not gouge me with unnecessary repairs.

Great experience. Kind, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Ken personally reviewed the work with us and explained the important elements and reasons behind the quality of work performed. Very professional, yet personable experience. Work was done precisely, on time, and under the estimated cost. Recently moved to the area and needed a shop to work on a purchased vehicle. I have been driving past Auto City for weeks since the move and said I need to stop in and get a feel on the operation and when I did Ken the owner, Spencer, & Dan were just awesome. The prices were par or better in most cases but the quality of attention, memory, and support was awesome. Automotive City is my goto mechanic and they will even help with making some aftermarket upgrades with a reasonable cost for labor and parts. They will also suggest certain upgrades to deal with known long term issues regarding your vehicle to make a more sound and reliable out come. Thanks guys.

A great experience overall! I called to ask them much they would charge for an inspection, and they said they would do it for free! They could have quoted me any amount of money, but they didn't. In the inspection they found only a few, very minor, issues where they could have made up something that "needed" to be fixed. They have gained my trust with there clear integrity and honesty.

This shop has been servicing my 2001 Honda Accord for years(since at least 2006) and they've been great every step of the way. They're super honest and always timely. Whenever there's an update on a repair, if they need new parts or have other change of plans they call me. These guy's are awesome ! I can't say enough good about them . I am a small business owner myself and strive to give the best personable service I can . Everyone I met at Automotive City was great , I was on vacation from Arizona visiting my family in grass valley . On my way there my front axle seals blew out , they got me in right away and got my van all fixed up so I could enjoy my visit with my family , they also right the next day squeezed me in for an alignment cause the one i had done right before leaving AZ was awfully done . Cheers to all you great folks at Automotive City I greatly appreciate all you did for me . They listened to my requests about the repair talked it all out with me and did a perfect job . I had smooth sailing all the way back to AZ . I will stop and say hello next time I'm there visiting my family . Thanks again for all you do . Sincerely Marc Hanses

When I went Automotive City for a smog check, the guys were friendly, expedient, and very customer-oriented. They even filled my tires with air and topped my car's fluids. The price was very competitive, too. I'll go back there for any future car repairs or needs.Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

I have a Volvo, which most mechanics don't want to touch. I don't want to go to Sacramento to a dealership. I called Automotive City and they were confident they could fix it, they did! There is future work I asked about and Spence told me what they would do to troubleshoot. I'm at peace knowing I can take my Volvo to such a competent and knowledgeable group.Service: Exhaust

I don't know how many of these reviews are really true and accurate but my experience was very different with Ken. I found his customer service to be very poor and unprofessional. My car was given back with trash left in it from the mechanic's and had additional issues when the car car was returned. When I returned with my vehicle to let him know, he showed very little interest in diagnosing the now new problem but was quick to quote a price for his assumption. I will never go back. I found Ken to be very rude.By the way...Ken talks a lot about his reviews so he was very concerned that I not post a negative one. I am sure he tells everyone to post for him. I am posting this only to warn others. I am an honest person that doesn't want anyone else to go through what we did. There was no excuse for his behavior.

I m so grateful to have mechanics who care about me and my vehicle. They re honest, dependable, knowledgeable, they tell it like it is, they get it right the first time and they don t try to scam me by attempting to sell me services or parts I don t need. I trust these guys and always feel safe taking my vehicle to them. That s a big deal to me, especially since I ve been taken advantage of by other auto repair companies because I m a single, senior female.Service: Oil change

Been going here for years. Always a great experience. Mom in law & husband also feel the same.Six months later. While I was on vacation Automotive City replaced my catalytic convertor.
