10/10 will definitely use their services again!They were all super nice and knowledgeable. George in particular was very helpful and kind to us both times our vehicle was being serviced. They are pet friendly and let us bring our cats in while we waited. Overall our experiences with Superior have been amazing and we recommend them to anyone needing car help in the Imperial Beach area.

Came here because my windshield wipers were not working and they were quick to help me at no charge! They fixed the problem and we're very polite and honest during the whole process. It may have been a small tightening on the bolts but I really appreciate their service and will definitely come back for any auto care in the future!

They are exceptionally kind and professional. they will do everything they can to make sure you are on the road safe. They are very knowledgeable and courteous. Kept us updated. They are fair and caring. George personally test drove our car to make sure the partner and I were going to be safe for a long trip.They are also pet friendly for those who have pets and nowhere else to go as they wait. Allowed our two cats to be with us as we waited.Thanks George!

I was on my way to Mexico to see the whales in central Baja during late Feb 2024. As I pulled off the freeway to get pesos at the last US exit my fuel pump which was slowly failing but hard to diagnose completely broke. My engine could not even start and by luck I found Superior online and got towed there by AAA. They worked me into their busy schedule and in three hours they diagnosed problem, got parts, installed, and wished me luck for my Mexico trip. Unbelievable. The whale experience the next day was best of my life. Superior is now intoolbox for van repair. Million thanks to the team!

Sam definitely cares about your car like it s his own. I brought two cars here - 2015 Lexus rx350 and 2001 Lexus rx300. The 15 had a check engine/maintenance required light and the 01 had engine smoking while being in idle. The 15 was a simple tune up and the cost was very reasonable. The 01 was a big challenge for them because they had to find a leak . I imagined that they would of said it s an old car, we can t help but they never gave up. They communicated with me the whole time and informed me they would keep the car overnight. They found the leak, did the necessary repairs and Sam even took the car for a drive to make sure it was back to safe, normal function. It would of been easy for them to rip me off and say that a whole bunch of things needed to be replaced but they did what was only necessary for it to be safe & functional. I really appreciate Sam & his team and this will be my mechanic for any future car needs! Thanks Sam!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, General repairs

I needed a new serpentine belt. They fixed it just fine but my ac was not working when I got my car back. I never had an issue with it, the filters were fine but I get my vehicle back and all I hear is the fan struggling and giving out. AND THATS ONLY AFTER they made me late picking my children up from school. I dropped my car off around noon. I was told the work would be done by 230-245 pm. I called back at 330 and they were not only no where close to finish with the they forgot to call and update me. I was was late picking up my kids and nothing got done on my car. In goof faith and trying to be understanding I gave them my business the next day just to be able to drive off with no air conditioning.

Shout out to BrianI went in bc my engine was misfiring and wanted to see what the issue was. They diagnosed it and told me the issue. Brian happily gave me tips and help on how to fix it my self since I wanted to learn.

I took my car in to fix the brake assist system. While it was there I decided to let them do a tune up. Now one of my engine cylinders compression is way down and the computer disengages the stabilink and traction controls. My 2015 car now rattles and shuts off. I took it back to them and explained that these issues weren't affecting my car before they worked on it and they said it had to have been a previous issue and they reset all of my cars codes by disconnecting the battery and told me that they won't deal with the new issues. I'm taking my car the GM to build a case for small claims court against Superior Automotive.Service: Brake service & repair

If you ask for a small job they will scam you and claim that there is more work that needs to be done on a car and overcharge youSure they might do a good job on what they work on, however they will squeeze as much out of you as they can before they let you go. I mean they are willing to go as far as doing this to a veteran mechanic that was looking for a simple job.Be careful if you dont have much money to be spending your better off avoiding this place. U got money your fineAnd for the company reviewing my review....yes i have the right shop... you wont find my name on your registery u chitters.

They were helpful and honest. Someone else had told us the check engine light problem was the cat and upon second with Superior, our suspicion that the other place was trying to steal the cat, was confirmed. They were definitely a little pricey. But sometimes you gotta pay more money for better, fair service. Thanks superior!

They found that my transmission fluid had leaked out so they refilled it. He also did a thorough check over the entire engine just to make sure nothing else was wrong and said everything else was running smoothly. They did did a test drive as well too. I was extremely happy with the care and concern they took on my car. You don t find many repair jobs that go above and beyond in repairing my car like they did. They were also got my car in the shop and repaired in a very timely manner. My repair bill was very reasonable and not over charged. I highly recommend Superior Automotive for all your automotive repairs.

This is the shop you want to leave your car with. They re honest, reliable, trustworthy, oh and Beyond educated. They re able to diagnose issues so quickly and troubleshoot WITH you to find a solution. Shout out to Chris especially. His communication is top tier. They do it all too. My VW cabriolet is a pain and they knew exactly how to get her back up. Thank you again and I will Only use Superior Automotive Repair for my car needs.Services: Electrical, General repairs

The guys there were very very helpful. they took me right in, figured out what was going on with my car so I could get it Smogged and took the extra time to let me know all the other things that needed to be fixed on my car but weren t absolutely necessary to do right then and did it all for a very reasonable price. Very honest and kept me informed on what was going on every day. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good automotive repair shop.

Sam at Superior has been my mechanic for about 10 years, I would not take my car any place else.Linda BrownI love Superior Automotive repair, they make sure my 10 year car stays in good shape,they always let me know when something needs to be done.THANK YOU THANK YOU SUPERIOR FOR BEING SUPERIOR IN ALL THAT YOU DO.My.car knows no other mechanic and never will. Sam always gives me a list of what might need to be done at a later time. Superior Automotive Repair is the best independent car repair shop in the San Diego area. Since I found them on a reference in 2008 they have always balanced the health of my cars against the health of my budget. European, American, vintage, custom, they do it all in a retro open air shop. Don t go for the lounge and TV - it s not there. Drop off your car and it will be fixed per your feedback on their diagnosis. Never a disappointment.Services: General repairs, Brakes

If you ever wondered why mechanics have a bad reputation, especially regarding women, this shop is the reason. I came to get some service done on my car, was charged more than what I was quoted over the phone, including over $100 dollars for an air filter, and had my entire car smelling like dirt for days afterwards. There are plenty of shops nearby, AVOID this one.

A co-worker referred me to Superior Automotive several months ago and I finally called last week to see if they could do some work on my 1966 Ford Mustang. Steven answered the phone and told me they could do the work and I was welcome to bring my car in anytime.My first issue with my Mustang was a broken clutch linkage. I had a few more minor things that I wanted to do as well and explained this to Steven and Sam. They ensured me they could do the work. I'm not the most mechanically inclined individual so I figured the clutch alone would cost me a pretty penny.Two hours after I had dropped off my mustang, Sam called me and said the clutch was fixed. Sam explained that the clutch was an easy fix and once again ensured me that my car was in good hands. While on the phone, I asked him to do a few more things to my car while it was at the shop. I had already figured it would take several days to get my car back and I was in no hurry, so why not. Sam let me know he could do everything that I wanted except for one thing. Well, Sam actually said he could do it, but said it might be a little timely and he had somebody that he could refer me to.I received a call each day my mustang was in the shop by either Steven or Sam updating me on the progress of my car.When I went to pick up my mustang yesterday, I was not only shocked, but pleasantly surprised when I received my incoivce for the services I had completed. I had expected to pay 3 times the amount that I was charged and had budgeted that much just for the clutch.At different times, Steven and Sam both thanked me for allowing them to service my car. I appreciated the pleasantries, but I was the one truly thankful for the quality of work, cost of the work and the customer service I received.I truly feel I have found a mechanic/ shop that I trust and will continue to use them for all my automotive service needs.While I was on my way out, a service technician let me know that he felt the idle on my car was too high. I agreed with him and he said he would adjust it real quick and he did. The technician was very friendly and told me some things about my car that I didn't know. During our conversation, we found that we were both Veterans and had both spent some time in Iraq. Made me feel good that I could support a shop that hires and supports Veterans of our county's military.The drive home form Superior Automotive was the smoothest and quietest I had in my Mustang for a very long time.Thank you Sam, Steven and friendly Veteran automotive technician,.

So I had my clutch replaced less than a year ago by these guys and I left on deployment, came back and started having trouble with the clutch not wanting to engage properly so I took it back to them to check it out. The slave cylinder had a small leak in it and because it was still under warranty they went ahead and fixed the whole thing free of charge. They did it quickly, efficiently, and we're very professional. Both times I've been at this shop I feel like the owner, Sam, and all of his employees really care to give you the best quality product that they can. I'd recommend this shop to anyone.Service: Transmission

I also had a coolant flush and injector cleaning. I called first thing in the morning they told me to drop my car off and they were done by 1:30. My daughter took the car to college the next day at Cal Berkeley she said the car ran fine. The gas mileage improvement from 225 miles for 3/4 of a tank to 300 miles to 3/4 tank. They have tons of knowledge explaining in detail what they were going to do to the car.Service: Oil change

I have been looking for a mechanic/repair shop, since moving to San Diego County, that I could trust with my VW Van and I found it here at Superior Automotive! Sam, the owner, couldn't have been nicer and it's evident how interested he is in providing great service to his customers. It's no wonder he's been in business for 30 years. All of the guys there are great and they take the time to answer any questions you may have. I can now trust my van will be taken care of properly and you can't put a price on that! I would definitely recommend Superior Automotive to anyone in need of an honest and trustworthy repair shop.

Great service ! They saved our cross country trip. The a/c in my Buick died. After checking the reviews posted by customers of various repair shops, I chose Superior....I am so glad I did. They fixed it fast and it cost exactly what they had quoted on their inspection. My car now feels like January in Maine....thank you Marco, Brian, and Sam. I highly recommend this shop.

Own a 2007 Mazda3 and just hit 253,000 mile mark! It's thanks to Sam and the rest of the crew there for the awesome work they do. Most honest and best customer service guys out there. I don't trust anyone else with my car but them. My daughter had taken her car to the Toyota dealer & they told her the front brakes needed to be replaced. They were squeaking a little. I told her to go to Superior. They checked them out & told her she still had more than 40% left on the pad. They cleaned them & blew away the brake dust. They saved her over $250. Superior does great work & they are very honest. They won t tell you that you need repairs or maintenance if your vehicle doesn t need it. I ve been going to them for years.Service: Brake service & repair

Superior Automotive Repair is my New Car Repair shop. You now have a new returning costumer for all my car repairs and maintenance needs.I was looking for a trustworthy shop with reasonable prices near home and work.I found Superior!Sam explained everything thoroughly that was required for my car needs, and things that needed to be done down the line.He was professional, nice, knowledgeable and I just had a sense that he and his team were trustworthy all around and cared for you and the car.To go the extra mile (literally and figuratively) Sam Drove me back to work since I dropped off my car during my lunch break. I mean what a great guy.Cars is now running smoothly without a stick to my gas pedal or acceleration on idle. Replaced my IAC valve. Cleaned the throttle body.Thank you Sam and Crew.

The workers here are amazing and knowledgeable! I m lucky I found them while I was staying at a air b n b near by. They worked on my Audi A4 for a battery replacement and told me about items that needed to be taken care of ASAP that my other automotive repair didn t mention to me! My transmission service!I have been through the dealership and European specialty auto repair shops and I will now do all of my services here with Sam and his team. Do not hesitate to take your car to these people they know what they are doing and they do not take advantage of you.
