Dave is the best, honest mechanic owner I have ever worked with. He is trustworthy and not going to sell you something that is not needed. Highly recommend and have referred others to his shop.

I have been taking my cars to Performance Techniques for many, many years. Dave is one of the TOP mechanics in the entire South Bay Area. Not only do I take my Volvo to him but I also bring other vehicles to him as well (i.e. Mazda minivan). His prices are very reasonable, his service is top notch, and both he and his scheduling assistant, Wendy, are some of the nicest people you will ever meet!! I HIGHLY recommend Performance Techniques!! Dave really cares about his customers and this is why I would never take my vehicles anywhere else!

Dave and Craig at Performance Techniques have worked on my Volvo XC70 for many years. With over 240,000 miles, my 2004 wagon is running very well. Dave is knowledgeable and can explain in plain language what's wrong with the car. He'll tell you if the problem is a safety issue or not. This is helpful when the cost of the work is greater than the lifetime benefit to you. He'll take the time to answer all of your questions so you'll be able to decide what work to approve. All in all, I've been satisfied with the service provided at Performance Techniques by Dave and his staff (including Wendy!). They're all enjoyable to work with.Services: Tires, Engine repair, Vehicle safety inspection, Auto brake replacement

Very friendly environment! The technician and owner Dave is awesome. He is very knowledgeable and great on prices. So much better than going to a dealership. Dave is very reasonable on the prices and is very honest with his suggestions. An A+ for this business and I be bringing all my cars work to him! He is definitely top car business in the Bay Area.

We've been taking our Volvos to Performance Techniques for over fifteen years. We get the highest quality of service, and Dave is awesome! His expertise and friendliness are outstanding. We know our cars are in the best hands at Performance. Wendy in the office is the best, too! We wouldn't take our cars anywhere else!

Over the last four years there has been a shift away from the usual German suspects to Volvos and Dave came highly recommended. While I usually work on smaller jobs myself, I will run out of talent quickly and therefore maintain a list of trusted shops for each marque who understand that there will be some DIY stuff previously attempted. Glad all the recommendations on honest, thorough, and straightforward opinions were true about Performance Techniques, so we have found ourselves a long term shop. And the conversations get deep with road bikes if you are so inclined!

Performance Techniques in Campbell continue to provide the excellent service and expertise they have provided for decades. There charges are always reasonable and many times they've saved me $ because they replaced smaller parts of a mechanism that wasn't working quite right rather than the whole part. I've been using them for years with many cars I've had and they have always been superb with their advice and service. Dave, Craig and Wendy are the best and easy to work with.

One of only 2 places i take my volvo (dealership is not one of them). This shop is where i know that my car will be well taken care of. Dave and staff are amazing to work with. This shop certainly understands the relationship i have with my car and how special it is.2005 volvo s40 t5 6spd manual

We have taken our Volvos to Dave for several years. I feel like Dave and I are partners in keeping the machines in great shape -- he is clear, to the point, and ensures that I understand the situations and the options. The work has always been first-rate with no surprises. Truly an outstanding trust relationship with Dave and his team. In an ideal world, all service businesses would run like this.Update: I no longer have Volvos and we now take Hondas and Subarus to PerfTech. Still superb!

If you have a Volvo there is no better place to take your Volvo. Honest, efficient and competitively priced. I trust Dave with my 3 Volvo, gone are taking them to mechanics that do not have the experience, knowledge base or tools to fix your Volvo. Take you care there you will bot be disappointed!

I only take my Volvo to Performance Techniques for service. Dave's experience is vast and you can trust his assessment of repairs needed or recommendations to keep things running. There is never a high-pressure sell - you just get clear facts, along with an expert opinion.

Great service and straight talk. I've been taking my cars here for a few years and just had another visit to fix an oil leak. Dave is a straight-shooter and clearly explains your options. I can tell he has my best interests in mind. It's hard to find this kind of service in an auto repair shop!

Heard good things. Except my experience wasn't all as its hyped up to be. Sub par customer service, when talking to the head mechanic Dave he was nothing short then rude. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt he was having a bad day. Other than that I've heard good things and would (tentiavely) recommend the shop.

After spending more than $200 for a diagnosis and safety check almost a MONTH ago (6/16), I'm still waiting on a repair quote. I understand shops get busy, but after numerous follow ups on my behalf (and ZERO on theirs), that doesn't feel like a very good excuse anymore. This type of run around has passed bad service and is bordering on disrespectful.I brought my wagon here because the previous experience I had was wonderful. This has left a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully I can update this if things get solved.

These folks know Swedish cars and take the extra care to ensure top performance. I needed tranny service and thought I'd need a rebuild or replacement for my '01 V70. Really apprehensive about flushing it. Runs and shifts like a dream.

Being a female it is hard to go to places without them trying to take advantage of you. David was awesome! Very straight forward. Quoted me before getting any services done. I really appreciate his kindness and professionalism. I'd be going back forsure!
