I don't care that it took 3 weeks longer than expected. I am furious how no one EVER updated me at ANY stage of the repair... I would call in for updates to be transferred to no one or be told to expect a call back from the guy that can give me an update... never to get called back.You have a text system. You have an online portal. These ONLY were immediately updated AFTER multiple calls to get an update.If I was renting a car, I would have had so many fees add up due to the lack of ability to estimate repair completion.

Your Richmond office is by far one the worst business I had dealt and experienced.Nobody knows what they are doing, never return calls and when you try time after time, if anybody answers your call they put you on hold without getting back? They have cost me rental car fees since they kept my car without ANY communication to what is going on.

I took my vehicle to their shop, they installed a Chinese fender witch didn t fits right so they told me they were going to order an original part that supposedly will be in the shop within two weeks and is already more than two months and the worst thing they never call you to give you updates especially Rory witch is the manager I think, he is the one I talk to. Shame on him

I would stay far away from this shop as possible! I brought my car in for a minor fender bender and when I picked it up I found out that the shop damaged my control arm and my left fender liner. They also did not put all my bolts back on my tire which is CRAZY. Upon picking up the vehicle I also observed a technician recklessly driving my vehicle. The shop also will not accept liability for what they did. UNTRUSTWORTHY STAY AWAY TRUST ME!Services: Steering & suspension repair, Painting, Body & Trim

I'm surprised this place has this good of a rating considering my experience.I had my car in for insurance work to repair damage to the quarter panel and rear bumper. When I picked up my car the side skirt was missing, there were random pieces of tape stuck inside my car, and my gas door is now falling out any time I fill up (was on the side that was repaired). The side skirt was hastily reinstalled while I was there (they were going to let me leave without it if I hadn't noticed it myself) which is now also sagging. The rear bumper repair was also very impressive! No actual repair work, just a respray that is now chipping off in the damaged areas. The paint work is hazy in areas as well. The best part was being schmoozed to write a good review after I picked the car up for the insurance company. The customer service was fine if not a bit manipulative, hence the two stars.I will never recommend G&C to anyone and now I know why other body shops told me to avoid them.Service: Body & Trim

Drove in our tesla for bodywork. There were no functional issues. In for rearender.They stalled us for months . Said they came upon some issues. Had to take it to tesla to check something out. Tesla said that didn't happen. G&C intermittently saying something came up...fixed it, then something else...on and on. Then told us it was totaled. What?Have all the emails, texts and vm.

Avoid this place at all costs! They neither provide updates nor fulfill their commitments. My vehicle has been in their possession for over three months, and they still won't provide me with any information on its status unless I call them. It's always me who has to initiate contact and inquire about the progress.

Had a wonderful experience bringing my car today for an estimate. The damage was minimal, and the team was able to buff out the scuff marks on the spot. They are honest and kind, and I would gladly bring my car back if it ever needed additional body work. Also, it is Tesla certified + State Farm preferred -- likely making any insurance needs very seamless.

Sean and co. at G&C Auto Body in Berkeley went above and beyond for me after a parking lot fender-bender. These guys (and gals) do stellar work. Sean is a clear communicator and helped make the whole process as easy as it could be. Absolutely bringing my business back here in the unlucky event that I need more bodywork done!

I have used this shop twice, once for my Sequoia that unfortunately totaled, and once for my suburban. If I ever have another claim I will come back here. Everyone in the office was extremely helpful and nice, they made sure to explain the process in a way that i could understand, and were just overall pleasant to work with.

Had my Tesla model 3 in here after I got rear ended. The body shop damaged the carbon fiber rear spoiler when they removed it, then installed the damaged spoiler back wrong (there s not meant to be a quarter inch gap at the top of the spoiler - catching air is literally the opposite of what it s meant to do.) they also damaged the emergency door release latch and tried to hide the damage by putting the loose piece back on.This has been going on since February and they still haven t rectified the problem.Wouldn t recommend them; make sure you carefully inspect your car when you get it back, and NOT just the parts they repaired.

Horrible repair experience and customer service experience. the shop improperly documents inflating information on invoices to be able to get more money out of the insurance companies, and when the insurance companies don't pay the inflated itemized bill, they come after the customer and threatens them with collection agencies etc. real ruthless, be careful dealing with G&C auto body in berkeley in combination with triple AAA and teslas they don't have that process down pact yet and they are money hungry unapologetically. shaun comes off as a nice guy but when it comes to the nitty gritty he is very dismissive and unhelpful. all the front desk ppl are nice though. :) But how they conduct business, is not. not to mention my car is still not fixed all the way, they claimed to have checked the repairs, but as soon as i drive off and head home my car is still having signs that everything that needed to be repaired has not been, so it seems they may cut corners as well. i don't wish these problems on anyone, this process has completely turned me off from G&C and Triple AAA. think twice about having them run your repairs. i get nothing from leaving this feedback so take it as serious as i am writing this.Services: Electrical repair, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Wheel alignment

I recently had to have work done on my car and took it into there shop. I met with Sean who quickly assessed my car and gave me a estimate for the work along with an appointment. He was friendly, professional and the price was very reasonable. They did the work as planned in a timely manner with no inconvenience to me. I am very pleased with their services and highly recommend them.It s nice to know there are honest professionals in this industry who do quality work for a reasonable price in a timely manner.Stop searching and take your car to them you won t regret it!

Someone hit my electric car. I was told that it could take many months before parts come in. I researched, and yes, it is an issue, reports of 4 months up to close to a year. So I was prepared to wait. I received regular updates on progress, which was comforting. I was so surprised to get a call 6 weeks later from R&C that the car was ready. The work looks superb! The staff was friendly, though busy. Definitely my go to place for auto repair.Service: Body & Trim

I brought in my car through the Allstate Good Hands preferred shop program. It was a relatively small job but G&C treated it professionally as if it was just as important as their much larger jobs. Jacob assisted me and he was great. Super nice, excellent follow up and attention to detail, and really went the extra mile when I asked him to look at an unrelated issue. Overall, great experience and the repairs were done very quickly and they look perfect. I would definitely recommend G&C to someone looking for a quality shop.

These guys are great. Especially Anthony. My car was towed there and within half hour he called and let me know he got it. He explained the whole process and answered all questions. My car took a total of 3 days at the shop and every day Anthony Called me with an update and expectation of timing and was really professional in all aspects. I got my car back super clean and very fast. Very knowledgeable group of people at G & C.

I was hit by a turkey in November 2021, was quick to book to be seen for a quote. Wasn t able to drop off until January 2022 (not the shops fault) there was not a long wait once it was dropped off January 24th and it was ready for pick up January 31st. I was able to use enterprise by dropping off my car and getting into my rental. When I picked up the car I did the same that was very easy for me to go about my day. I highly recommend the shop, and thanks for Nicole S. For helping me with payment and my car. You all have been so helpful. The folks at G and C are great. I needed front end work on my truck after an accident and spoke to around eight shops before choosing them. I wanted a heavy duty bumper installed but most of the shops would only rebuild to the stock specs. Anthony looked at the installation instructions and agreed to do it at minimal extra charge. He kept me updated on the progress, coordinated with the car rental company for pick up and drop off and got everything done in one week as promised. I highly recommend this shop to anyone in need.

The customer service is great! After my initial service, my car had a minor problem where the service was done so I brought it back. It turned out to be my fault, but the manager still honored my warrantee and fixed it for me for free

let's start saying the g and c auto body berkeley @ 1239 fifth st, berkeley, ca 94710 is the worst miserable nightmare i ever had dealing with a business--i went there because was recommended by geico as their express places that guarantee repairs ( believe express service ) -miserable front desk individuals very rude and one lady call herself geico adjuster so rude ( i have geico insurance )) all lies she is not an adjuster works for g and c not a geico adjuster -so i went on my appointment date she and other rude people took photos for my car damages to charge geico surprised no or few new parts --mainly useless labor fee-from junk yard parts --that already were broken - i noticed when i picked up my car plus very dirty -oil all over my trunk after presumably per them was fixed --no to forget "" the very rude g and c auto body claim by lie an adjuster canceled my appointment after photos she took and rescheduled almost one month later --- not tell me she cancel --just canceled made new appointment --like i was not there to start with for their business --i have to drivewith broken unsafe car for 4 weeks --for next appointment since she said--if you cancel your new appointment and take it somewhere else i charge you for parts--she told me all next day--next day i said i want to cancel out go other place the female adjuster said no--you have to pay for part ordered- a day before--they also said-- no emails for us ,and found out yes they do have emails- i guess for legality wanted text-only -they collected upfront $1000.00 deductible even though geico said at the end--i called the rude women g and c can i cancel repairs there she said" you can but you have to pay' for part ordered' so waited 4 more weeks--surprise they had my car in 5 days with all rack parts- dirty- oil all over my car and they did damages other area of my car -plus on the area they fixed also used broken junk yard parts --they said ""damages happen after you got your car "" all lie"" --the muffler was all broken after my accident they straighten it out not replaced it charge geico i guess 2 times --was unsafe to drive-after picked up the car 1st time-geico has to pay another $700.00 total they charged almost $9000.00or close to that figure--i know 3 other people who ran into same issues with their tesla--nightmare there--stay away --last they broke my car key because they charge the insurance for replacement of trunk lock that was broken instead used my poor key with junkyard broken lock to work with broken new lock they put --surprise they use my key and whatever dirty trick they did temporary fixed the lock --i got stock in middle of night 2 days later and called tow truck company to tow my cat to my house and got new key from the dealer paid $70.00 (one dealer one other locksmith place because they broke my key and starter was not working with the key that they broke the one i gave them --they tried to put used bad fake lock and broke my key try make my key work with junkyard lock or stolen lock from somewhere --my trunk lock still very bad never was order from dealer --but said they did another liemay be a junkyard bad lock they ordered and used my key so rough and broke my key with bad lock i am stock with bad lock they put all ols racked you name it --nightmare for over 6 weeks -- for simple fix plus they charged geico $9000.00 gave me half broken with full of new scratches in their garage --very disappointed sad angry./stay away from g and c berkeley --like many other car victim owners--there is like nightmare

G&C was great! Very seemless and kept us up to date throughout the process. Sean in particular wen5 above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied and did everything to get our car back in shape and keep our insurance in the loop. Highly recommend!

After they inspected my car and prepared and submitted an estimate for my insurance, I brought the car down and left it for a week. I heard nothing from G&C until my insurance called me to say they wouldn't work on the car because they didn't know what kind of paint was on it. I called to ask if they didn't just strip the car down to the metal for a repaint and they said they didn't. This was news to me. Evidently there's some sort of sealer they apply over the old paint once they've roughed it up a bit. So... I went down to get my car, told them I'd be there in about a half hour. Got there and stood around outside for about a half hour while they shuffled cars to get mine out. Seems like they could have stayed that process when i called. The whole thing was a huge, needless waste of my time from start to finish. I appreciate a commitment to quality work that they feel comfortable warrantying, but their estimate process clearly needs a revamp. I wasn't impressed by how they handled the whole situation and I certainly wouldn't choose to work with them again.

Awesome shop with great customer service. My car needed body work after something hit me on the freeway. They fixed it in less than a week and it came back good as new. They kept me in the loop with updates throughout the whole process. TESLA OWNERS DO NOT GO HERE!! I dropped off my Model 3 for body work since the insurance company recommended it and they set up everything here. I had my rear door replaced and rear panel worked on, but due to that the drivers seatbelt hinge was misaligned (annoying that I have to go back, but not a huge deal). The reason I am rating it low is because they left marks on my seats and left a few tools in my car. I came in the next day for them to work on these issues and waited another 45min. I feel like they should ve done a thorough job the first time (especially since I had a rental) instead of rushing and causing more issues and taking more of my time up. They should also ALWAYS charge the car.Jacob, was very communicative during the original repair. The rear door and quarter panel also seem fine, but I m still giving this a low rating due to the issues to my seatbelt, interior, not charging the vehicle, and taking more of my time when the job should ve been completed correctly the first time. I would ve given them 1 star had it not been for the very kind female receptionist. I had an appointment to get my car repaired here, and once I showed up there was no one outside who offered to help me. Waited outside for 15 minutes until I saw people walk into the office. I followed them and filled out all paperwork, and the repair man told me the parts and repair shouldn t take more than a month.It s now almost the end of the month, and my adjuster called me to let me know G&C cancelled my repair, without telling me. Even though I had called them two weeks ago to follow up. Unbelievable. From what I ve experienced, I wouldn t recommend this repair shop to anyone.

Do not take your car here. They do not care about you or your car. I took my car here to get a catalytic converter replaced. They put the wrong one (how? I don t know) on and my car did not pass the smog. Instead of handling it with professionalism and remorse I got a handful of attitude and a sense of we re doing you a favor contacting the muffler shop. Instead of a real solution, they suggested that I take my car to get the converter certified - basically me cleaning up their mess. In all of this, there was no we re sorry this happened. The best they could say was it looks like there might have been a mistake. No. There WAS a mistake. David at the shop, confined to blame the muffler shop which I understand that was where the error happened but I brought my car to G&C so regardless of where the error takes place it should be G&C s responsibility to make it right with the customer. He also said, We did everything to make sure your car was running again. Sure, that s appreciated but with the wrong parts? Now his efforts are counterproductive as I need to clean up his mess to make sure my car is okay to drive. David also at one point threatened to just write off our car as totaled to make things easier . What type of service is that? We, as the customer had NO part in this error and because we were slightly upset with what happened that was his unprofessional response. This is a huge inconvenience and there seemed to be no recognition around that. At this point, we were fed up and may have been assertive and upset on the phone with him. Instead of handling it with professionalism and empathy he hung up the phone on us.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Sean from G&C was tremendously helpful and kind: He had me drive over at my convenience and gave a very quick assessment of what I needed; He even squeezed in the quick repair while I waited, without an appointment; And he directed me to someone who could make another fix for cheaper than he could. It's so hard to find auto repair folks who are trustworthy and easy to work with, but I found that with Sean at G&CServices: General repairs & maintenance, Body & Trim

Useless team who never called me back. An associate left and they said they did not know what my repairs were supposed to be although they have all the pictures and details needed. G&C Auto Body Berkeley is a great repair facility with an amassing team, who did a great job of restoring my car after it has been vandalized!I had a privilege to work with Service Writer, Jacob Francis, who's professionalism is a top natch. He is very knowledgeable,set accurate expectations about the length of the process in the beginning, always kept me informed and did everything he can in coordinating parts ordering and repairs to get my vehicle fixed and back to me in reasonable time.
