The best smog service. Jesse the owner and do-it-all man, is the nicest and most competent car service man around. He s always on task with a pleasant attitude to boot and will have your car done in a fraction of time of what it takes others. His prices are also the best. My family wouldn t go anywhere else.

Absolutely the best service around. I showed up a little earlier than opening time. So I waited until he opened, He had me in and out in less than 10 min. I take all my vehicles here and they ve never failed to do a great job. Thank you guys.

Bought a Groupon to come here for a smog test because of the good reviews. Service here didn't disappoint. They took the voucher without any issue, and charged $8.25 for the CA certification (which is stated in the fine print on Groupon. I had an appointment at 12:30 (though I came at 12) and my car was done by 12:45. Thanks for the great service. In 2 years, I'll probably be back here.

Outstanding service. Can't imagine there's a better price in Berkeley or perhaps the East Bay as a whole. Also, the burrito from the adjacent taco truck was excellent!

Awesome place with very knowledgeable employees. We take our BMW and Ford raptor there and always get the same 5 star service. Definitely go and get all your smog needs there. Super fast service.

I needed a smog check and VIN verification. These guys were quick, efficient and well priced. There was also a great taco truck in the parking lot which was nice while I waited.

Great Service! Made an appointment on their website, showed up 5 mins before and was out of there in under 20 mins - he was juggling walk-ins as well. Very professional, quick, great service. Bonus - there is a taco truck right outside!

On-time and fast. Groupon deal was excellent and they only added the $8.25 for the certificate which is better than many other places who up-charge based on vehicle etc Second time here and will return.

Great service and clean location. Easy scheduling online, typical cost for CA SMOG test and certificate. They made it quick and easy for me. I even got there a little early before my appointment and was greeted with "are you Tammie"? Why yes and thank you. Highly recommend.

I managed to book an online appointment the night before and was promptly greeted by the apparent one man show. I didn't get his name, but he managed to answer the phone earlier, because I had left home without my DMV renewal notice, which he fortunately did not require. I was in and out in less than say 25 minutes. There's a small lounge and counter that separates the area from the testing garage area, nothing fancy, but if you need to sit outside from your vehicle, there you have it. I'll plan to return when I'm required to againCheck Groupon or ither couoon apps for special offers, as well as their website for making online reservations. There's a taco truck on site, per the website, though I did not try it. Sorry, no photos. I missed thei driveway the first time around, because it looked like an abandoned gas station, less the pumps.

Just moved to California and had to get my car smog checked - Berkeley smog not got that done for me quickly (about twenty minutes) but handled my entire registration with CA. I expected the process to be long and arduous (I am from a state with horrendous DMVs/bureaucracy). Jessie literally handled everything at the smog shop in about twenty-five minutes and I walked out with CA plates and everything I needed. Not only was my experience with Berkeley smog incredibly convenient, but Jessie was great company. Can't recommend this place enough!

I got a Groupon Coupon, and the price was quite fair. Service was quick and friendly.Just remember to read the fine print on Groupon, in my case an appointment was required, otherwise there is an added fee.Will be back for more smog check ups.

I got my smog check done here - Berkeley Smog and DMV - and found that their top-notch ratings are well deserved. On-line scheduling was super easy, just a few clicks, they honored the schedule and were super quick and efficient. And to top it off - extra friendly and reasonably priced. I will definitely return, again and again.

I have been taking my cars to Berkeley Smog for over 5 years. I live in Richmond, which is a 10 to 30 minute drive depending on traffic and I would drive further if they ever moved. The techs there are professional, knowledgeable and just all around good people.

Jesse made this super easy. There was a sanfu, yet he made it clear the easiest way to resolve, and by days end the check was completed. Berkeley Smog will be my go to for future smog checks.

I bought a Groupon on a Sunday afternoon to get a smog done on my 2000 Toyota Camry. Called Monday morning to book an appointment and was told to book online, so I did.When I arrived, there was one person ahead of me, but the gentleman working stopped and came to check me in. He was very pleasant and friendly. When my car was up, took about 10 mins, and I was on my way. Super fast and friendly. Highly recommend if you need a smog done. Loved my experience.

Bought a car online from the online dealership Vroom and I had to come here to do a VIN verification for an out of state vehicle to get it registered in California.The business owner looked at my car and noted that the vehicle also needed to get smogged which I was initially surprised about since it's only 1-year old and a hybrid and my dealership didn't ask for that. I took the owner's recommendation and did the smog and paid extra for the added on service.Of course I'm glad he told me about it since Vroom later backtracked and said they also needed a smog check in addition to the VIN verification. I appreciate the owner's extra mile which saved me a trip back. Overall was really quick in/out for a smog and VIN verification (10-15 min total) with only one person in line around 11:30am on a weekday. A few cars arrived as I left so the lunch rush got a little bit busier.Services: Out-of-state, Smog certification

They were very quick and super friendly! And they will confirm for free whether you have enough miles (data) post engine light reset. Jessie is so great! As a young woman, going in for car related services is intimidating because often the men try to take advantage of me but Jessie was so kind and genuinely wanted to help.
