Had some preventive maintenance parts in my garage that I had planning on installing myself, but I was running short on time. Autometrics gave me a straight forward quote over the phone and asked the right questions to ensure that it was a job they wanted to tackle. They stayed in touch via text during the service, and had things done faster than I could have expected. The final price matched the quote, and the work performed was top notch. A+

Love Autometrics! Victor and Alfredo are super friendly and relaxed, and always make me feel at ease. Their friendliness is matched by their competent and thorough service. They provide detailed estimates with pictures and a nice review process, all of which makes me feel like I'm in good hands. Highly recommended.

Victor was so awesome - My daughter was heading off across country and I called last minute to see if he could check her car. He realized the urgency and took it in and did a thorough check and repair all on the same day! Thanks so much for the great service, peace of mind and apologies for the late request!!!

We are so glad to meet Victor and his team from Autometrics in Berkeley,CA. After our daughter moved to CAL and brought her Prius, I went in search of a mechanic in the area to make sure she would be able to maintain her car and keep it safe. We appreciate the excellent service of our 2009 vehicle and the ease of communication via phone, text and email. The quote is always fair and the timing has always been on schedule. Even when we had issues with special covers for the catalytic converter (theft) - Victor came through. I came in & left car for 75k service at 9AM. Was told it would take approx 2 hrs. Checked in after 2hrs and everything was taken care of....However there was some important work that needed taking care of, so we went over the list together, prioritizing most imp work. Was told it would it would be ready by 4pm. This was reasonable, given the list of work, however I already had appts in SF necessitating leaving Gilman St at latest by 2pm. I said that I could return another day to complete the work & was told that they would see what they could do. When arriving at 2 pm, I found that ALL THE WORK HAD BEEN DONE!!! WOW, this was NOT my expectation, & was VERY Thankful!!! You Folks Rock! <3

Been taking my car and my wife's car for many years (lost count of how many), and these guys are great. Highly recommend. They always give you a good assessment of what's needed, as well as advice on what has to be done, and what you could hold off doing. Never any pressure. Prices also seem to reasonable compared to elsewhere. Convenient location in Berkeley, and very friendly too.

We take our personal car here as well as our work truck. These guys are quick, honest and know their stuff. I was really impressed when a couple issues got diagnosed on my older Prius and the guys there were really honest about what needed to be done and not done. Their prices are fantastic and the wait times are not bad at all! They are a great shop!

They were very professional and polite. Did a good job and didn't try to sell me repairs I didn't need. Did an inspection and gave their recommendations and I decided what to do. I'm pretty car savvy so I know what my car needs. I called this shop and told them I needed rear brake repair. I stated the year and make of my car. I was told to come down to the shop. The shop is about two miles from me. I showed up and the owner told me he could tell me how much repair would be. I asked for a written estimate and he refused. He then said he did not work on my car. I said i would have saved me a trip if I was told this on the phone! He smirked and shrugged his shoulders.Service: Auto brake repair

Automatics has been serviced my daughter's car for many years. After I moved to California six years ago I have gone to them to service my car. I take my care to them every year to be serviced. People who run Automatics are honest and I can trust them to tell me what need to be fixed and get them fixed ahead of time. Their workers do excellent work. My car is ten years old and by using their services it has not broken down even once in the past six years. I live in Walnut Creek but I drive to Berkeley to have my car serviced.

These guys are crooks!!! This is the most dishonest shop I have ever encountered, and I have been driving since 1969. I paid them $3500 to replace the head gaskets on my Subaru Outback, and it was not done. I had another shop actually do the job, and they said that the gaskets they replaced were the original factory. I also paid them to replace my catalytic converter, and that was not done; when I took it in for a smog check later, they pointed out that the catalytic converter had not been replaced! They have "closer" type salesmen interact with you, so they make you feel really good about being swindled.Services: Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Body & Trim, Engine repair, Brakes, A/C installation & repair, Battery, Oil change

These guys are amazing!!! Great service and great prices. They had my car done same day when the dealer told me it would be 3 weeks including waiting for the part. Saved me a bunch on the rental car alone.

Used to be great. Friend had to take car back three times and they kept messing up the repair. I took my car in for a test drive (free elsewhere) and they charged me a lot of money, lying that my wife had approved it. They had never talked to her. They hired a relative and have two owners instead of one...must be increased financial pressure. And the transmission rebuild they told me I needed didn't need to be done at all.

Great garage ! Fast ! Efficient ! Honest ! Our 2005 Chevy trail blazer is like new ! And safe ! Alfredo, Victor +... all other mechanics did a fantastic job!Well established, curtious & Professional !!!

My wife an I have been going to Autometrics for more than thirty years. We have purchased cars from them and had them repaired, always with satisfaction. The (new) owners (Victor and Alfredo), former mechanics under founder John Hafez, have always met our needs on time, complete, and always with our safety in mind. We consider them part of our team of "professionals" who take good care of us.

This is my go to neighborhood repair shop! For some reason, my area has a TON of auto repair shops, but this one is so nice and friendly and helpful. It's really the next best thing to having a mechanic friend in the family. They've helped me so often with big, small, or embarrassing things, and even if I can't articulate what I need help with, they can always figure it out.

I am the 57 year old son of an old school, pre-computers mechanic from Detroit and Alfredo and Victor are the real deal. They are honest, thorough and always on the look out for the lowest cost high value solution. I am pretty sure they don't know how many times I have recommended them and each time the reports that come back are excellent.

Been a loyal customer of Autometrics for over 30 years. John took care of my VW Bug when I was single and had just $300 in the bank. Today Alfredo and Victor and their marvelous team manage the three cars we have between myself, my aging mom and our adult children. They not only get us the quality repairs we need, but are really my advisors on new cars and planning expensive repairs.
