I broke down on the side of the road right before Barstow with my 5 yr old. They told me they would wait for us to get there which I appreciated. Told us that diagnostic would be 117 and would go towards the repairs. Get there and they start my diagnostic and my son and I are in a freezing cold shed waiting. Finally determine it s my alternator and battery (even though it was a new battery) at a cost of 1100, which includes the diagnostic fee. They replace the items while we freeze. Finally they are finished and told me it s still showing a misfire but that the car is drivable. Want to change the spark plugs and coils at an additional price but the auto store was closed. Go to pay and they ask if I want to save $130 in sales tax by paying thru cash app. I say ok. He then tells me I owe 1196? Why? You told me 1100. Oh that was without sales tax and fees . So the total would have been over 1330. The guy doesn t have his phone and makes me send the money to his sisters business account, which he gave me the wrong number for. After a harrowing 15 min I was able to cancel that transaction and send to the correct number. My car broke down about 52 min later and I had to take it to another repair shop. Today I received a charge on my original form of payment for the diagnostic fee. That was supposed to be included in the total. This whole thing was shady and the repairs they did on my car did not resolve my issues. I called and now he is telling me it is an after hours fee!!!! I am disputing the additional fee and providing all this to the better business bureau. I advise against using this business.

On my way home from San Diego to Cedar City Utah, my car decided to leave me in Barstow Ca. Looking for a mobile repair that could come to the Motel 6, I called the guys at Pros and Gears. They were on it, unfortunately, parts were an issue, but they drove down to San Bernardino to get the part and fix my car so I could get home. I was short on cash and some meds that I needed, but they came thru for me and got my car running like a champ again!! Thank you very much for all that you did for me!

Absolutely amazing mechanics. Our Nissan Frontier truck broke down driving from San Diego to Las Vegas at 11pm on a Friday night, due to an issue we'd previously had three other mechanics attempt to diagnose.The mechanics at Pros & Gears were very friendly and helpful. They diagnosed the issue and had the vehicle fixed by the next night, and for an extremely fair price.We've driven a couple hundred miles since then and the truck has been driving perfectly. In a strange way, I'm relieved the truck broke down when and where it did because it meant these were the guys who got it fixed!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

I was stuck on the side of the road and called these guys at Pros and Gears Mobile Auto Service and Repairs and they came to my rescue. They not only provide excellent customer service but got my car back on the road fairy quickly.

Do not use this service!!Scammers!!They took our money $1300 usdFor radiator repair and as soon we left the shop our van started heating again and worst! We ended up having road troubles on the way to the Bay Area on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of one of the biggest heat waves! Vanso and Tony were God sent angels as they helped me and my family navigate what was wrong with the car and get us to safety. They are the kindest and hardest working mechanics you should ever find yourselves lucky to have. Had a tire burst and some sudden oil trouble on the road the other week. Luckily we were near Barstow and the tire shop we stopped at pointed us over here to get fixed up quickly. The shop owner (Provonzo?) was really nice and helpful, and got us back on the road in about 2 hours. Only weird thing was that he could only take cash.

I had a radiator hose burst in Ludlow when I stopped to get gas, so I called Provonzo after my first choice didn t answer. He said the mechanics would be there ASAP. The amount of money they were charging was absurd, but I needed to get back on the road quickly & having them come out was comparable in price to getting it towed back to Barstow, which was in the opposite direction of where I was headed. It took them THREE HOURS to get from Barstow (supposedly) to Ludlow, which is only 57 miles from their shop. Every time I called Provonzo he kept saying they would be there soon & acted weird when I tried to cancel, suggesting they were going to show up anyway. When I pointed out that it was unacceptable to charge the exorbitant amount of money we first agreed upon when I thought they would be timely, all of a sudden Provanzo wasn t in charge & needed to ask his boss about renegotiating.Tony & his prot�g� get there finally, both were pure class. Tony is personable & charming, which is probably meant to make up for the deficiencies on the business side of things. Only negative thing I can say about the work done is they didn't put new clamps on the generic hose they installed & they brought weird universal/generic coolant, which for what they were charging, wasn't cool.Then halfway through the repair they ask for payment. I m thinking they have a card reader or multiple ways to accept money, but they were expecting Apple Pay & nothing else. I didn t have that set up on my phone & it wouldn t let me transfer such a large amount of money for a first transaction when I did get it sorted. They wouldn t take a check. The town we are in has no banks & the ATM daily limit at the gas station was more than the repairs by quite an amount. Provanzo & Tony scrambled to find someone who could accept PayPal, but the transfer wouldn t go through on their end. Same for two other apps. Finally I get someone else to send them the money via Apple Pay so they can finish the job.This took nearly two hours. So I waited for three hours, had to futz around for two hours trying to pay them for a repair that took all of 45 minutes that I could have done myself (I actually had the old hose off by the time they arrived). That was six hours total for what should have taken less than two. I was charged $650 for a simple hose replacement, they actually used my coolant that I brought with, so parts cost was like $30.I also never received an invoice, despite being promised one, so I have NO idea what they even did to pad the bill. I am contacting the BBB & the California Bureau of Auto Repair VERY soon to see what my options are, but lesson learned & AAA upgraded.

Scammer please do not used these people they do not work on semi trucks they think we are stupid. We broke down and call them for help. They wanted us to pay them 225 for coming out and not fix the problem then told us that had to leave to get the parts. My husband got in the their truck due to it was windy and cold outside. He said the only tool they had was hammer and a drill. He had to tell them to let him out the truck. I do not know what type of games they are playing but don t trust them

My car broke down in Barstow on my way to do a cross country trip. These guys were great. Very reasonable and got me going again quickly. They were very thorough showing me all the codes my car was throwing then going through and showing me the parts that needed to be fixed and explained everything that they did. Gave me an itemized receipt for parts and labor. Would highly recommend them. .Service: Auto engine diagnostic

We were stuck in Luddlow at night on our way to Laughlin. The fuel pump on our truck went out. It is in the gas tank and no easy problem to fix. These guys came out and fixed it on the side of the highway. They were so nice and did a fantastic job at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them!!!

We were in Baker when we heard this noise coming from our car so we called and mentioned we would be there in approximately 1 hr. We called because no one was there when we got there, he had decided to go shopping at Home Depo and told us he would be there in 5 min and to just wait. 45 min later still nothing and wouldn t answer his phone. So disrespectful to make us wait all that time and still nothing.

My Dodge 3500 busted the tensioner and serpentine belt. Not a big deal but I was at least 40 miles away from parts. They agree to perform the service for $1800. When they arrived 2 hours later than promised, (I love this part) 2 guys jump out of a beater of a truck. They whip out their cellphones for flashlights,assess the situation, then proceed to the truck to get their SHOEBOXES of tools. They replace the tensioner relatively fast but that belt, they just can't get that belt on. I googled the routing pattern for them. After 3 hours of not being able to figure it out, I tried to call the boss. No answer. For that kind of money I should have had a certified mechanic. Then they charged me "tax" on the full amount. I'm pretty sure services are not taxable. I will be contacting the CDTFA about their business practices. Bottom line....don't waste your time and money on these clownsService: Engine repair

Provonso came quickly. I was stuck on the side of the freeway near baker CA. Baker CA doesn't have mechanics out there. He came from barstow in roughly an hour and got me back on the road. Much appreciated!!!Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

I stopped by because my brake lights came on while driving. Was asked some $600 for brake fluid bleeding. Negotiated down to $400. I ended up not getting it done and paid $100 in LA. Mechanic also tried to convince me to replace brake pads I replaced 3000 miles ago. They are supposed to last 30,000 - 70,000 miles.I was also charged $80 for this *incorrect* diagnosis that consisted of 10 minutes of looking at my brakes and 5 minutes of calling somewhere to inquire about prices for parts. Even if I had spent all the money and time my problem would not have been fixed.I ended up getting my master cylinder replaced (elsewhere) because there was a leak.

Scam artists. I went there to get a quote after work and a woman whose vehicle is being repaired there was speaking to the sheriff s department. They have her vehicle for 3 weeks and won t call her back. The deputy suggested I go elsewhere as they have had so many complaints. He also suggested the lady call Bureau of Automotive repair. Their yelp reviews are one star or less.

Terrible! Took me for $550 (with NO INVOICE) and still did not resolve the problem. And the owner had the nerve to suggest. 'Well, you diagnose the vehicle...'.These guys should be put out of business. And it is my suspicion they will be sooner than later. A REAL-SHADY GROUP!

We had a check engine light on, Sunday evening and we were trying to get home to L.A. They checked the code and determined it wasn't critical, so he cleared the code and we were on our way. Big Thanks for helping us out!!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Terrible service, even worse communication, and dishonest. Overall just an awful experience, $2,100 later and my car is still having the same issue I took it to them for in the first place. They claimed to have replaced something, but after having a real mechanic look at it we determined that was was a lie. Save your time and money PLEASE

Provanzo and Tony are two outstanding men who helped me and my mom out. When we were stranded in the desert for three hours. Tony came and towed us to their shop safely there he and Provanzo checked and tested the car throughly to see what was the problem. Highly recommend them and their work.

Place is a joke and very expensive was suppose to have a water pump changed out and they didn t change and some more stuff. There communication sucks and when I asked for a refund they said they do not give refunds.
