Sandi Ansley is awesome, honest and passionate about what needs to be done. She was great on giving me updates while I was out of town. I was recommend this place. If I ever need some auto work and/or info on my vehicle again, this is the place.Thank you very much for helping me.

My partner brought her car in for a Smog test, and ONLY a Smog test. This took over an hour because they took it upon themselves to check her belts, battery, fluids, etc and print out $1000s in attempts to upsell her on a bunch of maintenance, much of which is nit necessary, had been done recently and the parts were fine, or in the case of wiper blades or fluids very easily done by a regular person. they assumed because she's a female she wouldn't even know that. the woman working there even suggested she get a male relative to do her wiper blades for her. Anyone with hands that function normally can do that.They also left some kind of plastic panel dislodged that she noticed and reattached.And again they were not asked to inspect for needed maintance, they were not asked to take up all this extra time, they were asked to do a simple Smog check, but thought they could sucker her into a bunch of repairs. This is a very sleezy move to attempt, not to mention insulting and disrespectful.They gave her this 5 page printout of all the maintenance she needs cause they have no records of it. Hey - that's cause you are NOT her mechanic! And after this experience you definitely never will be. I attached a photo of just one of the pages of stuff they recommend, which no one asked for and again most of it is because they have no in house record. you're just nearby and had an available appt for a simple Smog. I've never had an experience getting my vehicle smogged where they try to upsell me on a bunch of repairs, even once when a belt was making a loud sound and did actually need replacing. It's absurd and I'm writing this in her stead cause she isn't one to leave reviews but people should know.Oh and during the Smog check her radiator cap somehow vanished, even though she knows it was there recently and shes been driving it around just fine. they tried to charge her for one which she refused.

Called three other shops today to get in for a last minute smog check and either no one answered or their smog guy wasn t in. I had given up and was headed home when I passed ACE Automotive. I noticed their bay was open and empty, which is rare, pulled up and Bryan came out to great me. He was able to squeeze me in and have my smog done in less than 30 minutes. Bryan was very professional and knowledgeable about other questions I had. I truly appreciate his willingness to fit my car in. I ll definitely be back for future auto services.Service: Smog certification

Took my truck in for a smog on a Saturday! Wow they are open on Saturday! Byron was very professional and helpful (great employee), got the job done quickly and even text me once it was done. Great service in small town is rare and they have it figured out.

Bryan was super helpful and a very kind man! He got me right in, ON A SATURDAY! and even noticed that my transmission plug was off! ( i recently had a full transmission flush and all service work done at a dealership down in south county). I am super grateful for Bryan at Ace Auto Care in Atascadero! I drive up and down the grade for work every day, this could have been a lot worse! I highly recommend this place and will be getting all my car services here from now on!Service: Smog certification

This guy tightens oil pan bolts with an impact I wonder how many cracked oil pans he has made money off of. Spec on my vehicle I'm working on is 14 ft lb hand tightened this thing must be at least 65-70 gotta re group and go at it tomorrow.

I was able to make an appointment online for the next day. Arrived a little early and they got me in and out fast. Brian checked all my fluids and was super nice. Waiting room had a cozy little fireplace. They were all very friendly and with very reasonable prices. I will be going to them for all my car stuff. Had the Catalytic Convertor fixed only because I got help from my county worker, thank you to them by the way, The car runs great now, repair done Dec 2019. 8/28/20 called in again spoke with Sandy and asked if they did a free estimate for repair, her response No, but if we do the work we will give you a discount (hmm didn't give one last time the county paid for my cat to be fixed?? But whatever, I thought) Ok i said, she asked what the problem was I explained it to her and then silence and about 10 seconds later she hung up on me. These guys are great. I ve been out of state the last year and was only in Atascadero visiting family for a few days. My brakes were giving me problems and so i dropped my car off at Ace. They had to order the parts, they came in that same night and they were able to have my car ready by the next morning way ahead of schedule. I was able to get back on the road without any hiccups. Cleanest shop I have ever seen. Friendliest people I had the pleasure to do business with. And they fit me in between appointments to get smog check. I would recommend all my friends and family to go there for their auto repair and smog. Special thanks goes out to Joseph for his help and service and played 20 questions I had with a smile.

Brought my car in for a smog check, first it was going to be $600 to get it ready to pass smog, after they did what they said they did, it still wouldn t pass smog and wanted an addition 1300 and after that wanted 3500 to replace the heads. I m use to paying less than half of that but they still ended up taking 1300 from me, the car was exactly the same. The lady at the desk was very rude even told me I was lucky I was getting a good price. Compleat scam price check anywhere else before doing business with these people they are the most expensive in the area

Brian was a lifesaver! I was headed down the highway from LA to NorCal and the check engine light came on and the car started acting really funky. I called 7 different shops in the nearest town but none of them could fit me in that day. It was a horrible prospect to think id have to find a place to stay in town until a shop could accommodate me, so then I decided to look at shops in one town farther, and Brian picked up. Not only did he have time to look at it that afternoon but he also fixed it and explained what the issue was. He could have taken advantage of the situation but he was a total hero and had me on my way in an hour.Service: Engine repair

Called to schedule a sway bar installation on my car. Which isn t rocket science and was told they don t install sway bars. What kind of shop is this place if they can t even put on a sway. If sway bars are to complicated for them I definitely wouldn t trust them changing my oil.

Our Ford Taurus started missing as we came into Atascadero. We stopped at a muffler shop who recommended Ace Auto Care. We explained that we were on our way home to Paradise, ca. Sandi the service manager pulled her mechanic off the job he was doing and had us back on our way in about an hour or so. They were courteous, efficient and gracious. Ace Auto services my limousine fleet. Their professional service and attention to detail is second to none. I cannot imagine using anybody else for all my automotive needs. They are pretty nice too.

Had a terrible experience at Ace they first misdiagnosed my truck then when I wanted to do the work myself they told me if I wanted to stop at that point where they had done nothing but diagnosis that I would still have to pay the 1400 dollars they quoted me for the original diagnosis that was wrong even though they hadn't done that work because that wasn't the problem with my truck so I'd have to pay that money for the work they didn't do and tow a truck out of there that doesn't run and in pieces for 1400 dollars then it took them over two weeks to put a bearing in my transmission they told me about five different times it would be done tomorrow when I picked up my truck there was a problem with the shifter being way too loose like it was about to fall of when I called to talk to them about it Sandy hung up on me I would never recommend ace for any repairs they may be good at servicing vehicles but I'm not confident in the diagnosis and repair so now I'm 1500 dollars in the hole and still ended up having to work on my truck to fix what they didn't do the right way
