We always stay here when we go to Bass Lake. Facilities were spic and span. Cottages have a kitchen, dining, living room with a sleeper sofa, we stayed at the Ranch House which had 2 bedrooms. Parking was ample enough and they had a charger for an EV car.Rooms: Rooms were clean and hotel-likeSafety: It's nestled a couple miles off the main highway and so safe. There are bear warnings but I've never seen one everytime I'm there.Noteworthy details: You can cook here so bring oil and condiments.

The hosts were very kind. The kitchen is cool and convenient.Yet it is very expensive for what it is. Our cottage smelled really bad at first. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and creaked. The A/C creaked as well (in the living room). When we arrived, the sheets of the sofa bed were dirty and had not been removed from the people before. However, the host directly brought us clean ones. Dirty towels were also still hanging on the hooks in the bathroom. Even the clean ones were stained. The shower did not work really well.

Kindest hosts, very quiet and enjoyable cottage. Hospitality is not lost at Homestead, we had an issue at our Airbnb and had to make emergency arrangements and they were so kind and accommodating.Rooms (including kitten) are clean, accommodations scenic and our stay was more than worth the price. The Inn Keepers went above and beyond and the drive in to Yosemite was gorgeous. Truly a gem of a place.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night before camping in Yosemite and it was the perfect place to start our trip! Our cottage (#2, Country) was so charming and clean. They really thought of every detail to make it cozy and convenient. The kitchen had more than enough supplies to cook. They also have an impressive Board Game and DVD collection in the main office that we took full advantage of. Loved everything about this place! The owners on property were so genuinely kind, welcoming, and helpful, while also respecting our time and privacy. The only bummer was that we couldn t stay longer! Thank you so much!!

This is such a wonderful place! If you're going to Yosemite you must stay here. It's located about 20 minutes outside the south side entrance to the park so it's very convenient. The setting is super romantic! 6 cottages each was separated by 50 yards or so, super private, yet not far from the main roads. The cottage was super clean. Breakfast/coffee/tea/water were amply stocked and refilled, decorations were very pretty and tasteful. Free wifi, cable TV, and a nearby golf course keep you entertained. Each cottage has a full kitchen too if you want to make something simple. We went there with another family, we all, including the kids, loved the place! It's a great place for couples, a family or family gatherings. We will definitely come back again.

We stayed at the Stargazer and had a lovely room, great air con and everything we needed. It s good to know the water is from a local well so tastes strange but is fine to drink. Very peaceful stay and great hosts - thank you

My husband booked our vacation without telling me much about our lodging. I was blown away by these cottages! I didn t anticipate all the little details that made this stay outstanding. The breakfast, board games and front porch views made this so romantic. There was even an abundance of fresh herbs growing outside to cook with. We had an incredible stay and were emotional leaving this morning. Everything was very clean. Also...I have got to find out which pillows they use. So comfortable!!

We had such a lovely stay at Homestead Cottages! We used our cottage as a home base while exploring Yosemite in the middle of a two-week Northern CA vacation. It was such a treat to leave hotels and restaurants behind for a while and have a "home" in which to cook real meals, have a bit more space, etc.Debi and Danny are fantastic, friendly, warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable innkeepers. Our cottage was clean, comfortable, and stocked each day with divine muffins, granola, milk, orange juice, and fresh fruit. We accessed Yosemite by both the South Entrance and the Arch Rock entrance during our stay - both entrances were an easy drive and it wasn't too far to return to our cottage each evening. Also, Raley's is a fantastic grocery store just 10 minutes away from the cottages in Oakhurst.

The Homestead Cottages are a wonderful getaway with easy access to Yosemite s south and west gates. But they are also within easy access to amazing hiking trails in the nearby foothills. The cottages are located outside of Oakhurst in the hills and are wonderfully quiet and away from crowds. The cottages are all on a hill located in a woodsy area. The cottage we stay in, 2 3 times a year, is on a hill with a view of the valley below. The cottages are beautifully decorated and completely comfortable. The kitchen is wonderfully appointed if one is inclined to cook. I always am and I am so happy with the kitchenware that Cindy has on hand. The living room is comfortable with a couch and chair located in front of a gas fireplace and a TV that has cable TV channels and music. The bedroom has a poster bed and dresser. The bathroom has a huge soaking tub.The grounds are lovely with a community bbq and tasteful fencing and shrubs. The community bbq has a large picnic table available for guests. We love this place. It is where we come to relax and get away from urban life. We would not hesitate to recommend the cottages to anyone looking for a homey relaxing weekend away.

Stayed at The Homestead February 6th to the 10th and had an amazing time! The cabins are more like cottages with lots of luxuries that make you feel at home including a gas fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, firm yet comfortable bed, roomy and well appointed bathroom and last but not least gorgeous views!I stayed in The Native cabin which had a nice shower but two other cabins had big bathtubs if you prefer. Never ran out of hot water and enjoyed the silence at night, no road or neighbor noise.Met the owners while staying there as well the cleaning staff and felt extremely welcome and accommodated! The cabins are only 30-45 mins away from Yosemite and very close to Oakhurst. Two things I'd recommend when staying here (besides going to Yosemite of course):1) bring food in for breakfast, lunch and dinner and take advantage of the kitchen and not having to go out.2) Go hiking up in the hills behind the cabins: gorgeous views including sunrise and sunset albeit all uphill hiking. If uphill isn't your thing check out Poison Switch down the road with a beautiful creek to hike around.

THIS HOTEL TAKES 50% NO MATTER WHAT. BEWARE BEFORE BOOKING!!!Booked this hotel hoping to visit Yosemite for our ten year anniversary. Unfortunately due to limited access to the park we were unable to secure day passes. I emailed to cancel and they refused to give me a refund even tho it was SEVENTEEN DAYS NOTICE. I made the mistake of not seeing they take 50% no matter what after you book. NO REFUNDS NO MATTER WHAT. Covid, death, they don t care. I saw another review where the woman tried to cancel and get a refund because her husband was sick and required to quarantine because of Covid and they would not do it. I would recommend booking with a hotel that during a pandemic is willing to be reasonable and provides refunds with ample notice. The owner also tried to age shame me and said maybe when I m older and wiser I would understand . Incredibly rude.

Deceiving. I thought we got a two bedroom cottage. We got a one bedroom cottage with a pull out couch. And we paid for a two bedroom. It would've been nice if they listed it as a one and a half bedroom cottage.
