James is a super nice guy who explains in great detail exactly what the issue was, and how it has been repaired. I was even told by other "auto electric" shops that I should take my car to Certified, which I did. The absolute only bad thing I can possibly say about Certified Auto is that they are SO BUSY (with good reason) that you may be looking at 6-8 weeks to get an open appointment. I suggest just dropping your car off (if possible), and wait for their call. That's what I did.

JAMES CHAVEZ and his team are BADA**!!! I had taken my 2005 Silverado to Certified Auto Electric after 2 other shops could not find or fix an electrical issue that was rendering my truck completely useless. After scheduling my appointment, I dropped my truck off at 9am and James had it running like new, ready to pick up same day, for a very very reasonable price. Unlike other shops, James took all the time to explain to me exactly what was wrong, how they found the issue and how they repaired it. I was blown away by the professionalism and genuine kindness James put into the service. Cant recommend this place enough. I'm back in my baby and enjoying my truck again, BIG THANK YOU to James and the techs at Certified Auto Electric!

I've had an electrical 'drain' issue with my 2013 F350 for over a year and finally decided to take it into the shop to have repaired after it had killed multiple new batteries. A friend of mine recommended Certified Auto Electric so I took my vehicle in for repair. James was able to figure out the problem and have it fixed in a couple days. The cost was probably a fraction of what the dealership would have charged me. I'm extremely happy that not only is my truck fixed but now I have a reliable mechanic to take my other vehicles to. 5 Stars for sure!!Service: Electrical

First time I had to bring my vehicle here.Great service!!!Very friendly. Treated me as if I had been there a hundred times.Found my issue with my power window switch super quick. Explained exactly what they did to fix the problem. They programmed the new switch and had my SUV ready to go within a couple of hours. Was completely worth the money spent. Even went out of their way to change the windshield wiper blades I had purchased from a department store!!!Will definitely go back there next time I have electrical issues with my vehicle.Highly recommend.Thank you for excellent service!!!

Had the most excellent customer service, knowledgeable and professional. James really took good care of my car. I had it towed to the shop not running, dashboard in pieces, wires cut, and shorts, a total disaster. James did a fantastic job in diagnostics and repair and kept me informed on his progress. My wife is happy to have her car back! I would recommend Certified Auto Electric to any person or repair shop that needs electrical work done.Service: Electrical

Only in rare instances will I write a review. Jim Chavez is Certified Auto Electric. He is a genuine first rate master automotive technician, with a specialty in vehicle electronics. His workmanship is never anything less than top notch. Jim does absolutely fantastic custom work, as well as very diligently executed standard maintenance. Purchased a vehicle that had the airbag warning light on, faulty cruise control, and a non-functioning horn, with the knowledge that it was likely a faulty clock spring. Brought it into Certified Auto Electric after being quoted an $850-3500 repair by another big chain auto repair shop. James was an absolute pleasure to work with. Had the problem fully diagnosed within 30 min and a total repair estimate of $527 (including the diagnostic fee), which was significantly less than what I had expected. I left the car there and four hours later it was completely fixed for LESS than the original estimate. James also went above and beyond by replacing a couple of bulbs that I was unaware had been out. If I or my family/friends have any car electrical issues, I will 100% be recommending the team at Certified Auto Electric.Service: Electrical

I've had James do a few things on my 83 Chevy on 2 separate occasions and the quality of work and detail that is put into these jobs were outstanding! It may take some time to get in because James is busy, but when its done you will not be disappointed.

I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with James about my classic car and some wiring and misc issues it had. He was courteous, honest,and very professional. He took time out of his day and showed my brother and I how his business operates and what tools and wiring diagrams they had not to mention lots of other things. He fixed every electrical issue I brought up, told me about some others for the future,but most importantly,kept in communication with me about cost and time of fix. I would give this place 10 stars if I could! They relentlessly worked to find out why a fuse kept blowing instead of just guessing and replacing parts unnecessarily. They kept me in the loop the whole time about the work being done and the price. I 100% appreciated that James explained everything to me and didn't dumb things down. 02 wrangler, needed a new positive batt cable, and some other wiring issues done. They had the old cables up front, and pictures showing where it was arcing. Guy is pretty down to earth, seems very knowledgeable. Honestly, the problems I was having were so intermittent, it's difficult to tell if we found them the first try, but they DID try, and they DID find some pretty messed up stuff. I don't feel like I overpaid at all for what they did. First time there, and yeah, I'd use them again! edit 8/6: turns out, they fixed quite a few issues I'd been having- I've had the old girl off-road a few times now with zero problems.Services: Electrical, Battery

Thank you certified electric, for work you guys did on my mom's 1998 Ford crown Vic , headlights would go off while traveling, headlights stay on, no problems!!! Certified Auto Electric did what 3 different Ford dealers could not do. They fixed my 98 Ford Taurus on the first visit and were very reasonable. In fact, they went above and beyond when I asked them to do some additional work at the last minute. Great service! Fair pricing! I am very satisfied!

Used Certified Auto for my interlock installation. They are fairly priced and are fast and schedule very flexible. They were wonderful and very helpful. I actually started with Safe Harbor who was absolutely horrible. I then transferred to Certified Auto and was very pleased got mine removed today! Yeah!!!

Jim and his crew are amazing. Brought in a diesel air compressor alternator wouldn t charge. They got me diagnosed and fixed the problems ASAP and got me back to work in a jiffy. I can t thank Jim and his crew enough for the amazing work. I took this to 3 other shops and no one could figure it out. These guys had it done in less than an hour. Thanks so much I ll definitely be comeing back w my equipment and cars.

Seems like the people there are really friendly-- great service too. If you have anything electrical wrong with your car in Tucson, this is the place. Even other shops that couldn't fix the problem recommended to take the car here.

So I went here to get my headlights and brights wiring fixed and driver window fixed. After $300 and a whole day of them having it they fixed the problem. They continued to tell me my alternator was the problem for everything basically. The window as well. Alternator changed and brights won t work and window still won t roll down. In conclusion your better off fixing the problem your self.

Awesome experience He was very helpful and repaired my van..When I went to pick it up he showed me the broken parts and thoroughly explained what had failed to cause the problem...I would recommend this business to anyone...

Jim, the owner, helped me get my 1968 pontiac firebird up and running. Did alot of work, but the cost was really reasonable. They work on everything, big or small projects. Highly recommended!

The check in progress went real smooth. As of this post that's all I have done so far. From previous work performed, these guys are extremely good at their work and because of that fact they are extremely busy. Just drop your car off and go!

If I can give this location a negative star, I would. We were scheduled at 10am this morning for a reinstallation of our interlock device with this so called technician named Guy and it is now 3pm - the device is still not in the car. Guy comes and tells us that he s unaware of the wiring of our car (Mazda3) and will require a few more hours, on top of the 5 hours he had already spent on the car. He couldn t even come out and give us the courtesy to let us know that he didn t know how to install the device until when it was too late. This tech shouldn t even be certified to install the device if he doesn t know how.

One of the install techs, Guy, installed my ignition interlock (a requirement for my responsible driving course) over there at Certified Auto Electric and gave me the best deal in Tucson. Friendly staff, very understanding of peoples' schedules. Anyone who is required to get an Interlock THIS IS THE PLACE TO GET IT DONE AT A FRACTION OF THE PRICE!!!

Repaired my wiring harness and fusable links after the nissan dealer told me the parts I needed were discontinued. Repaired what was needed and nothing that wasn't, as well as modified areas to keep my wiring maintainable given my issue with unobtainable OEM parts. Excellent work at a fair price.
