Would highly recommend to not come here or to get a 2nd opinion before making a decision. Brought my jeep in for transmission service because they are about $100 cheaper than Jeep dealers. Before even taking my keys they were trying to tell me I would most likely need a new transmission. Next day they call me and want me to pay $5500 for a refurbished transmission installed. Took my Jeep to the Jeep dealer. They did a full service, fully inspected my transmission and said it was perfectly fine just needed new fluid and filters. Seemed like the guy up front was more of a salesman than a transmission repair specialist do what you will with this info.

We had our vehicle towed to the Butherus location in Scottsdale due to issues with the gear shift. The repairs were done in the same day as the towing! Thank you Hector for restoring us with our work truck!

Hector and the team took care of my vehicle that had all sorts of problems. I went in for a wheel hub replacement, only to find two additional neighboring parts were shot. With so much additional work and parts needed, Hector and the other mechanics didn't hesitate to push through (right before labor day weekend even!). They got my vehicle up and running and in the best condition I have ever had it! I look forward to driving now just to feel how smooth of a drive it is!! Thanks Hector and the crew for the stellar work!

Hector's shop is the only Aamco location I know I can go to and get my issues successfully diagnosed and repaired with confidenceHaving a lifetime warranty can make me feel like a red-headed step child sometimes and I have been told many times that the problem is anything but my transmissionHector had always gone the extra mile to honestly try to find issues and has always demonstrated a high level of ethicsMy choice is to always drive the extra difference in mileage to get to Hector's shop; he does Aamco proud

Great customer service and being treated like a human, and not a number is usually hard to come by when getting a vehicle serviced. I took my vehicle to AAMCO in North Scottsdale and was positively overwhelmed with the overall experience.Not only were they able to fit me in, admittedly I did not have time to make an appointment- but they were able to provide me with the information I needed to make an informed decision on my repairs. Hector was very knowledgeable, and his customer service was unsurpassed. Jake also took the time to make sure all of my warning lights were reset properly.I highly recommend taking your vehicle to AAMCO on Butherus!

Hector and team were great! I ve been faithful to a mechanic for years but lately they ve gotten lax in their service, missing small things that have major impact on how my auto runs. I have an older vehicle and sometimes things break. So, during a Phoenix summer, the air conditioner stopped blowing cool air and I noticed a grinding noise. I took my car to Hector and his team and their service was amazing. They fixed the source of the noise and gave me back a much-needed air conditioner. And they did it all within a few hours. For a little over 2 years I have been dealing with transmission problems thanks to this establishment. After the first time they rebuilt it, They had to do it all over again. Then I was not able to drive my truck after I got it back because it kept still popping transmission codes. After we figured out what it was we realized they had done some damage to the plug. So I drove it approximately 30 miles today and the reverse band apparently went out and the transmission is sluggish. This place is a joke. And after Hector me to have a towed in and they would figure out what it was and what it would cost. They're not even going to warranty it. Even? Though I have only driven the truck 2000 miles? I guess now it's time to hire an attorney. If I could have given them negative stars I would have. Stay away from this place. They are all con artists

Hector is another greasy predator mechanic. I spent 3k for them to change an ECU and when I drove it out of the parking lot and drove worse than when I brought it in! He kept telling me he would have his mom drive this car? I asked them to drive in the car with me and they refused. They just needed more money for diagnostics, what a joke. I came to the shop with to get my transmission fixed. I have warranty service, but because of the type of transmission Hector dud advised me about that it may not be fully covered. 24 hours later Hector called me and said he got it approved fully covered.. he was very upfront and willing to work within in my budget. I highly recommend everyone to come down and see Hector. He will work with budget and help you to get your needs met!!Service: Transmission

My experience being a paying customer of this Aamco location was very much so satisfactory and I was shown respect and caring from the staff, I appreciate their apologies for a part that arrived damaged in shipping to complete the transmission repair and installation, the sales associate on the floor Hector informed of the mishap in shipping and because of that he offered a discounted rate because of the inconvenience and my car had to be kept longer than the promised completion date. The repairs done to my 2001 Toyota Solara was done so in more than satisfactory levels and my car is now running more smoothly than it s done in the past few years. Thank you to Hector and his team on taking care of my car, and for doing exceptional work in getting my car not only up and running again but, giving my car a few more years of life to it. Absolutely avoid this location at all costs, go anywhere else. This was single handedly the most frustrating auto repair I've ever been involved with. The repair went well beyond the estimated repair time, each subsequent eta continued to slip day after day. Commitments to provide me with updates were non-existent and I was only able to get status updates by calling the shop each day. The day the repair work was supposed to be done, it still wasn't complete and I had to wait hours for the work to be completed. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, one of the repairs I requested to be completed was an oil leak, the leak was not fixed and this location would not back up the warranty on their work when another AAMCO was tasked with re-completing the job. Again, the support and response from this location was dismal and extended the repair process at the other AAMCO location by 10 days due to franchisee warranty process between independent locations. This should have been fast but this location dragged things out, likely with the hope of not paying anything. AAMCO corporate was engaged for support but they're also terrible and never even called me back after opening a support case with them. Shame on this location and shame on AAMCO corporate customer support.

Noticed a leak in my driveway. Had my husband check it out and it was coming from the transmission pan. Called Aamco and talked to Hector to see when he could get us in. He was able to get us in the next day and quoted us very reasonable price. When we arrived Hector was very professional and was able to get our Durango in and out quickly. They went above and beyond what needed to be repaired. The team worked great together to diagnose the problem and got the job done.Service: Transmission

On my way driving home my car went out and this was a close place where I could take it off of the highway.First, I feel like I was pressured into getting financing so they would get the money. I thought I would be able to cancel the financing options once I got my warranty but that was not the case.I had a warranty which I didn't find out until later to be reimbursed. Hector was not willing to work with me to get reimbursed. He said he called and lied because when I called warranty no one heard from him.When they reached out to him he apparently told them he didn't know why I brought my car to his shop but when I was at his shop he was in a rush to get me to finance to get his money.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

This started off as an innocent mistake, and turned into a predatory situation.I originally brought my car to the dealership for a transmission issue. They said that the car needed a new transmission, but as they didn't have any financing options, I chose to go to AAMCO as they did. At AAMCO, they had the same diagnosis. On Friday, I entered into an agreement to buy a new transmission and signed all the paperwork. The car would not be worked on until Monday morning.Saturday morning I received a call from the dealership, that they had made an error. There was a class-action settlement that included my vehicle, where due to a known transmission issue, they had to replace the transmission at no cost to me. This omission happened as I wasn't the owner of the car when the case settled, so I wasn't notified at the time. (The class-action settlement specifically says it has to be serviced at the dealership).Excited thinking that I just saved $5,000, I immediately called Hector at AAMCO Saturday and told him I needed to pick up the car as the transmission replacement wasn't needed. That excitement quickly turned to something else... when he told me I had already signed the agreement and he has a no cancellation policy; even though no work had been done on the car. The finance company called him as well, and he responded with the same. I even offered a $500 cancellation penalty to cover the labor costs, and that was a no as well.Some may say, "You signed the agreement." That is one way to look at it. Another is having some decency to not cost someone $5,000 for a transmission they don't need, when they have offered you the labor costs to keep anyways.Service: Transmission

After getting in a minor car accident I called Aamco and Hector immediately went into action. He sent a tow truck my way, evaluated the damage and gave me a very reasonable price. They were honest with their work and repaired my car quickly. Thank you Hector and staff for your great customer service and taking your time to explain everything to me. Since moving to Scottsdale in March I have had two major situations go wrong with my vehicle at the worst times too and both times Hector and everyone who works at this AAMCO came to my aid. As a customer I was treated with honesty and exceptional service, professionalism, and fair pricing. They went out of their way to make sure I was on a payment plan that worked for me and that I had my vehicle back as quickly as possible. I am a self employed single parent and my one vehicle is everything to my family. Do not bother going anywhere else THIS is hands down the best place to trust and turn to. Thank you everyone at AAMCO and a special thank you to Hector -who is -by the way -the friendliest guy to chat with!

If I could rate zero stars I would. Absolutely NO communication unless we reached out. Had the car for 3 weeks, to finally just tell us it needed to go to another shop. Was a transmission rebuild. The new shop looked under and showed us that it wasn't even the car's transmission. They put a different transmission in, the wires were hanging everywhere on the transmission (after they kept saying there was an electrical issue. Hm wonder why), and our new mechanic said they didn't even put the correct clutch in for car.So long story short, bad customer service, bad communication, awful "repair work" and a total waste of time and money.Service: Transmission

When I dropped off my car at AAMCO, it was smoking and screeching. In two days Hector and the crew had my Mazda purring, I swear it sounds better than the day I bought it.Car repairs can be expensive, time consuming and inconvenient but this was not the case with AAMCO. Hector reviewed every price and cost to make sure I fully understood what my car needed and when i expressed money was tight he gave me a killer deal. He provided transportation to and from the shop twice, Chris the driver was a delight to talk to and overall it was a great experience with a quality repair. Thank you everyone, I'm so happy to have my Mazda back and better than ever!

I came to Aamco because the dealership I had gone through wouldn't take care of the cluch and rear end that were shot in my Jeep Wrangler. Hector went above and beyond everything to help me. He was very knowledgeable and informative and what he said he would do got done. He would call me to see if I could come in and he would explain everything to me. When I couldn't come in he would take pictures to make sure I saw and understood what he was doing and why. He was very friendly and made me part of the process the entire way through. He and the entire staff there made my experience painless. When I got my Jeep back it was perfect and I haven't had a problem since. These guys deserve all the cudos anyone could give. Hector made my experience at this location great. It was nice to have him offer to show me the parts that were replaced on my truck. He was great to me today and kept his composure after learning of a family emergency and didn't skip a beat! Not to mention that my truck runs better than I'd ever imagined! Thank you guys. I would recommend this location of AAMCO and will return in the future.

So far so good, I had my transmission fixed and it has been running well. It took 2 weeks to get it done for around 6 grand. The only thing that can be better is the calls to tell you that your car is ready. They are short of staff but they work well.

I came to Hector when I needed a transmission. I hoped it wasn't, but I knew it would be. Here is what he did above and beyond.He got me into an affordable rental. He was able to match the quote for a basic transmission rebuild, although my unit was an SS. He offered to fix the broken motor mounts and motor oil pan leak at no additional labor. He offered me financing and was very clear on how to avoid the financing charges.Overall, he very professionally helped me through a repair we all dread. I never once was concerned I was being taken advantage of or talked down to. I would highly recommend him to anyone finding themselves without a car and needing a mechanic friend.Melissa RouseService: Transmission
