If you're looking for an honest, fair, efficient, and very reputable auto mechanic, then go no further. This is how Mike was referred to me and after Twenty years he has held to this standard.Mike at Japanese Engine Works has been my primary auto mechanic for the last twenty years. He has serviced all my vehicles and my daughter's vehicles during this period.Each time Mike worked on my cars he has always been very thorough and efficient. When Mike fixes your vehicle it is truly fixed because Mike manages a standard the insures your car will never have to be returned for the same issue.Don't be fooled by the shop name, Mike and his team work on all make and models, domestic, and International vehicles. I consider myself a very tough critic when it comes to auto mechanics and I can't say enough about the great service Mike has given me time and time again.The true sign of a good mechanic is when they are always busy and Mike's shop is always buzzing but he always manages to get the job done quickly and efficiently.Services: Transmission, Air & cabin filter replacement, Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Body & Trim, Brakes, Air conditioning, Brake service & repair, Battery, Oil change

I actually brought my car here by mistake but didn't realize it until after the mechanic had checked my car out.He was extremely nice about it, wrote what the codes were for me and didn't charge me anything.That was a very nice thing he did so please don't anyone call looking for a free visit.

Mike's shop is the best, honest car repair in town. Trust his place more than any dealership. He will always tell you exactly what's wrong and show you what he fixed. I recommend this place to all my friends and promise you won't be disappointed. He can also work on diesel vehicles if you have them.

Hands down the best mechanic in AZ. The most honest, reliable and affordable. Mike will give you options to save as much as possible, and he will always tell you what must be fixed and what can wait. I ve been coming here since having to replace the engine in my first truck, and for service on all my vehicles (Toyota, Dodge and Ford). He is the best! No one comes close.

I only trust the service of my vehicles to Japanese Engine Works. The service is impeccable and the workmanship is the superb bar none. They always check on the best price and quality for parts installed in my vehicles. The cost is within my budget. The courtesy I receive, the quality of the work and the economical price is a trifecta for me. He explains to me in simple terms what is required and the approximate costs. He explains the details of what was completed when I pick the vehicle up. I wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else but to Japanese Engine Works. My family has been going to this shop for over 30 years. My dad originally found this shop in 1986 when we first moved to Arizona and Mike has serviced all of our cars ever since. He is reasonable, accurate, patient, honest, and he and his team know cars! World Class Service every time. Japanese engine works is the one and only shop that we service all our vehicles at! There is no sugar coating or over charging they go above and beyond every time and do all of this at a fair price!

These guys have the Best auto repair service. I've had bad experiences with auto mechanics but not these guys. Honest, fair, and they know what their doing. Highly recommend.

It takes them 2:30 hours to do my oil change. Never go to them for an oil change, go to Walmart or any other place, they waste people's time. Mike is a good mechanic but he is a price butcher, you better check other places before you decide to do any engine repair work there Never go for any body repair or window's regulators etc because they don't know how to fix that. Mike never gives estimates and if he does and you know what you want to change, he would ask you to leave the car, it is ridiculous. If you tell them you took your car to another shop, Mike would never repair it or see what is wrong with it.

Let me start by saying Japanese Engine Works will get my business for sure. My family uses Japanese for all of their car needs. From the time that I called until I picked up my car, I was satisfied with the service. The day I dropped my car off, I waited for my ride and Mike the owner, took the time to stay and wait 30 mins after closing for my ride to get there. Mike kept me informed about my car and let me know what was wrong and what needed to be fixed. Mike, you and your team Keep up the great work. See you soon!

Mike is the best mechanic. Fixed hooptie for cheap. I was struggling for cash living out of my car and he tool the time to dig in and figure out my car. Which isnt Japanese. Great mechanic great price. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Thanks mike for getting me back on the road.

Best place in phoenix when something goes wrong with any of my vehicles I bring it to the car doctors at Japanese Engine works! First a little backstory: My Honda Accord had been used and abused by an incompetent mechanic and would not run anymore. The car sat for months in the hot Arizona summer sun and the engine was basically taken apart and put back together but missing a number of parts, wires moved around, etc. A relative of mine recommended me this shop. Mike and his team were able to diagnose the issue and bring my car back to life! I was thrilled to finally drive my beloved car again! Mike was able to cut me a price I can afford during a time I was unemployed and suriving on what was left in my bank account. I'm very grateful for his work. The reason why I gave only 4 stars is because there are limits they will not go beyond; I had to find a replacement transmission and torque converter myself or my other option is a rebuild which is worth almost as much as the car itself. I was lucky to find a good deal on Craigslist. Mike was almost scared when I mentioned "J35A8" you can imagine I was pretty disappointed Japanese *Engine* Works didn't want to accept the task of swapping a V6 with another V6 even though there's like 50 engines sitting in the back of the shop. Very recently I had Mike give me a quote on a motor mount. The business next door quoted less but Mike had no problem telling me to go with them. He was helpful with showing me which mounts were bad and how much the engine wiggled so I can be more educated on what exactly needed to be done. The shop is good for repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics, but it's no custom works shop. Fair prices, good workmanship, always polite, and they use dealer parts.

I can take my vehicles anywhere to be worked on. I choose Japanese Engine Works not just for their ability to diagnose and fix the problem, but because of Mike. I never expect for someone to fix my vehicle for free, just be HONEST and FAIR. You will seldom find a more honest guy than him, not only in this industry, but in life as well. Thanks Mike, for always being honest, dependable and doing a great job.

I have done business with Mike at Japanese Auto for all 3 of my vehicles over the past 32 years. Mike and his crew have continually provided excellent diagnostic, evaluation, and repair services for my 1984 300zx, 1998 bmw z3, and 1995 j30 infiniti. He has always provided honest, and fair pricing when repairs are NEEDED and looks for the most cost effective and beneficial repairs over the long run which helps to extend the life of the vehicles. My 1995 Infiniti J30 has over 230k miles on it and it runs like its brand new THANKS to MIKE & HIS CREW. The latest repairs made on the BMW Z3 Mike was able to repair the car and return it to me in better than new condition at an extremely fair and reasonable price. The great thing about using them all of these years is that due to their diligence in servicing and repairing the vehicles I have no reason at this time to look for any new vehicle. Do not go here! They will rip you off. Spent $3500 to have new used engine installed, it started leaking with less than 10k miles and right near the year mark! They wouldnt fix it and said for a charge They would. This car had a 280k mile on it originally that never leaked a drop now i cant even park im my own driveway!! They used silocone as a gasket and charged me for a gasket. Dont go here, there are alot of others that a respectful amd responsible for their own faults.

I had cars worked on for minor and major repairs. Price can range depending on what is being done. I am a satisfied customer. Referred few people and they were also satisfied.

These guys are not your hyped up mechanics, they are straight forward, checked our car on the spot, wish they were in Chandler, since I left N PHX I cannot find a reliable mechanic shop.
