I had lighting installed and dealt with Bill Skaggs and the team. They communicate effectively and give you the pros and cons of the things you want done and the best thing for your budget. I highly recommend and will be back in the future!!

I took my 2018 Z71 Silverado 1500 here to get lifted 7 inches with the Rough Country Vertex Coilover kit that I brought in. I was nervous at first because of some of the reviews I saw, but I wasn't disappointed even once during the process.Barry, the store manager, was nothing but kind, professional, and very cool to me. My experience here was very good. Whenever we hit a snag, like with the big brake kit I brought in not being compatible with my truck, Barry let me know right away and even helped look for solutions. Barry even made sure I wasn't charged for the labor of putting the stock brakes back on. Outstanding customer service.My experience here got even better after talking to the other staff. The technicians, Jay, Travis and Alex, were nothing but polite and knowledgeable. Very good guys who work HARD in this Arizona heat!I can rest easy knowing that if anything were to ever happen with my truck or the lift kit they installed, these guys would take care of me.Really great folks over here. This staff is killing it.I'll be back, and I'll refer friends here for sure.

Had a great experience ! They installed a sway bar, air bags and shocks. Great service and good prices. I had an issue w a squeak and brought it in. They checked it out and determined it was not suspension but my camper. Did this non grata .no charge. When businesses treat you w common sense and just plain old friendly .works for me! I call em as I see em. They are 5 star!

I have visited this company on several occasions at different locations. I m very glad to have found this location. I m new to owning a lifted Jeep Wrangler. So I have done a few fixes and upgrades to ride. The process has been a journey while it s has been lengthy, at the end of the day the staff has been top notch in getting things done right. I have great appreciation for Barry, Travis and Troy. I ll continue bringing my Jeep to your shop.

Desert Rat was AMAZING!!! Received great customer service from WILL, BILL and NICK. The install guys MIKE and BRAD made my truck look spectacular and drives perfectly!!! GREAT JOB - would highly recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about Desert Rat Off-Road on 19th Ave. They truly went above and beyond to help me with my four-wheel-drive issues. From the moment I walked in, their customer service was exceptional. Great place for all things Jeep. New to the Jeep world and Barry is extremely helpful/knowledgeable. Bought bumpers/winch/fenders. Was shown all options (all good quality) and service was great.Definitely will be back for more upgrades.

Needed my spare tire mount rethreaded and the hi-jack mount installed. Several people in the area recommended Desert Rats for an offroad Jeep like mine and so I called Barry at DR. He has a lot of experience (30+ years) and really seems to want what's best for his customers. Didn't feel pressured to get anything I didn't need and even referred me to another mechanic for stuff Desert Rat doesn't work on. Felt like I found a reliable Jeep shop that supports those of us in the offroad community.

If it wasn t for Barry and his team I wouldn t have been able to go to Ouray this year. Thank you Mike, Kevin, Bill, Brandon and Barry for helping me fix my truck. Your team is solid and thank you Barry for all your help over the years.Side note: If you go to Silverton, CO go to Golden Block Brewery and get there brick oven pizza. 10/10

They over charge for things that do not apply. Quotes 3k for repairs that did not involve the job needing to be done. Was able to pay 1k for all repairs and more somewhere else with a better attitude as well. Don t recommend unless you wanna get screwed over.

I brought my Jeep back to Desert Rat due to a short in the connection for my Rockslide Powerstep I had installed there last August. Will, the manager at Desert Rat, provided excellent customer service. He advised me of each step in the process as well as an approximate time for completion. When I picked up my Jeep, he took the time to explain what the problem was and how it was repaired. He also explained how I could fix my other electrical issues by clearing codes in my mini Tazer. Even though I the store is across town from where I live, I will take my rig back there for future issues.

Desert Rat is great. I've been there a few times. Guys working there are helpful and good customer service. NOT LIKE 4WP people that work there are very rude and not willing to help. Always go to DESERT RAT.

I went into Desert Rat as a return customer and left as one that will never return. I had purchased new shocks from them and had them install the shocks for me thinking they had the knowledge and wherewithal to do so. Come to find out, the front two shocks were installed incorrectly, causing my truck to ride rough and the shocks to bottom out very easily. So I had to bring the truck back, costing me another day with a vehicle, to have the job done correctly. I expected a sincere apology at minimum from a business of this size, but didn t even receive that. So unfortunate as I expected nothing but the best from them.

Absolutely disappointed in my experience here. Bought 4 new tires for my Silverado and upon pick up the wheel weights were hitting the brake calipers I went back and they fixed it by relocating the weights on the front wheels also they broke a wheel stud off the back hub. So forward 3 months and I go to rotate my tires to find out that the weights on the rear wheels would not clear the front brakes. This is after I spent the time to pull the axle shaft and hub off to replace the stud that they broke. I took the vehicle back to have the weights moved again and when I got the truck back they had broke another stud on the the same wheel claiming it was cross threaded. Save your time and take your business elsewhere, absolutely not worth the hassle. And please take that impact away from your techs until they learn how to use it.

I had new gears put in my rear differential twice at desert rat. Let's just say I took it somewhere else the 3rd time. I will not ever go to or refer anyone to desert rat!

I will never do business with this company ever again. I ve had the worst customer service throughout this whole experience. It started out with Bill not updating my contact information so he could get into contact with me when my $6,000 parts come in. They confirmed the lift and tires would be installed in 1 day, and I absolutely made sure they could do it in one day 2 weeks in advance, and they assured me it ll be 1 day of install. Brandon said he would call me at 5pm the day of install but neglected to do so, to simply update me on my vehicle, so I called to be placed on hold then forwarded to voicemail. Meanwhile I made it very clear that I NEEDED my vehicle the day after for work.. I called the following morning and spoke to a Barry who said he would give me a $200 refund for me missing work and losing money because of their error but can t give me an accurate time on when my vehicle would be done, but he was able to threaten to take off the lift and tires promptly and refund me in full. I will be going to corporate and posting my terrible experience on social media.UPDATE April 28th, 2022Still haven t received a phone call from the owner Tim, I took my Jeep to 4wheel parts today to do an inspection on my vehicle because I did not trust Desert Rat after the horrible experience I had. They found that Desert Rat let me leave without installing a rear track bar, when I came down to Desert Rat Brandon didn t even go outside to confirm there was no track bar, instead he said I must be out of my mind because they don t let anyone leave without the job being done But Barry mentioned they had the wrong track bar and that I had to come back the following day Barry also stated it would be safe to drive on the freeway, that was not the case. If I didn t know how to correct a fish tail, I wouldn t be writing this. Absolutely the worst experience ever!

You can tell when they dont want to help you, They quote you High! Ahh Bill, $300 to $400 for a pair of Shims and $160 Alignment when your Sister Company down the strreet only Charges $135.00 Wow.

I've been working with Desert Rat at the 19th ave PHX and ABQ NM location for the past 2 years. I have appreciated the service from Barry (AZ) & Darren (NM)- they've been patient & helpful with us, not just on big purchases & installs, but also minor vehicle maintenance issues (self induced as a result of major modification projects @ other shops). Even if they can't handle a project or if something is out of their wheelhouse, they make good referrals. I will always check in with Desert Rat/ Barry on big purchases & projects!

Update to my original post below. Received a call from Tim this morning he apologized for not getting back to me yesterday. He said they had ordered a replacement wheel and there would be no charge for it. All I was asking for was a discount on the cost of the wheel and mount and balance at no charge. Desert Rat stepped up and made things right. Thanks Tim.Purchased 5 tires and wheels for my wife's TJ from desert rat on 19th Ave. The spare was purchased separately from the other 4. All I did was call and have them order a fifth tire and wheel same as other 4. This tire and wheel have been riding around as the spare until recently when I put it into rotation. I took the jeep in for an alignment last week and was told the offset was different on one of the wheels. Returned to Desert Rat Saturday October 2, 2021 and explained to them what had happened. I was told they didn't think anything could be done because the purchase was made over a year ago. The employee told me he would look into it and call me Monday.. Here it is Monday night and no call. I'm asking to purchsee the wheel at their cost and not charge me mount and balance. I own 2 Jeeps and around the same time I spent around $6000 with them. I feel what I'm asking is fair.

I called to ask a question reference getting an issue on my Jeep looked at. Because of how busy they have been I wasn t able to get an appointment right away but the guy I spoke with didn t just brush me off. He ended up helping me for a few minutes looking at alternatives and discussing the issue itself. Awesome customer service. Im still trying to figure out the problem so I will definitely use Desert Rat.

Thanks to the crew and Wil at the shop for the install off my RC X series lift on my 01 WJ the level of professionalism and experience in the trade was above the others I was trying to work with another shop and lets say they were Soring Low in customer services. Desert Rat Off Road center on the other hand delivered the install 6 days early before my appointment, the lift was installed and the process explained and I will Refer a FriendThank You

Barry and Brandon are great! Barry took care of me after a month long wait to get my Westin running boards installed. I will definitely be back to do more business with Desert Rat. I was worth the wait!
