Overpriced, bad customer service ( do not reply to emails) and identified the wrong problem, and messed up a simple thermostat which if fairly alarming.I am easy going and Everyone at action auto is fairly nice, however last May they "fixed" my thermostat in my 02 Durango. they did not seal it properly and it kept overheating, i took it back and they fixed something else for 600 dollars, then it overheated again..Took it to another mechanic and he immediately fixed the thermostat for half the price and let me know the error, truck is fine now. even pulled out the therm and showed me what went wrong. I sent a kind email with photos and details and received no help. Moral of the story is, they charged double for the thermostat so likely overpriced, they do not reply to emails so no customer service and they misdiagnose. probably avoid unless you are a regular, or enjoy small claims court.

Customer service experience is definitely 5 stars.They are detailed and gave an estimated time frame of completion and exceeded the time frame.They offered to take me home, which I politely declined so i could exercise and walk my dog. (Side note and bonus points they are also dog people).They ordered my parts the day before my appointment to insure they had them ready. They called me once they had my truck up on the lift and an inspection completed to let me know what they found.The overall experience evaluation is they have a customer for as long as I am in the valley.Support local, support small business.

Quite simply the best shop in the valley. There is no gray area... There by the book and will take care of you completely.Customer service is over the top. And that's why I keep coming back. In the past 2 years I spent over $10,000 at the shop and I'm proud to say so. This is a very very good business.

I ve been bringing my vehicles here for about 5 years and have never had any problems with the work that was done. They get you taken care of as fast as possible. I ve even had to emergency drop off my truck it wouldn t start so I had it towed in and they were able to diagnoseAnd fix the problem in one day. Thanks you guys for all you have done.

I loved this place! I made an appointment for a body shop on accident when I meant to make an appointment for a mechanic. I took time off of work and really needed my car fixed, and this place was able to get me in immediately and had my car done the very next day. It's been great since then, prices were reasonable, and they were super friendly. They also gave me a ride home! I'm new to Phoenix and even though I have mechanics closer to home, this place will be my new go-to. Thank you!

6 years ago, I moved from Hawaii and was in need of an honest and professional team of mechanics to work with a European car amongst others. Action Auto was recommended and from the first time I met the team I have never been disappointed. From the owner Tom, who is customer facing and hands on to his team including Cathy, Tonia and the outstanding team of professionals in the workshop. Nothing is too big a problem, with the always verbiage of, "We will fix the issue, we can get the parts, if it's not correct just come back"' Every one of the team are solution focused always providing excellent customer service. I will not hesitate to continually recommend Action Auto whether it be for a simple oil change or more in-depth mechanical work. WOW, just Wow, They guy are incredible. On my way out of town, they got me in right away, took care of my issue with my truck in a very timely manner and a great price. Also the office staff followed up with me to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. You just don't get service like that anymore, they really care about doing it right and making sure their customer is taken care of. Thank all of you, from the great Counter guys, to the mechanics who fixed it so fast and the very pleasant office Lady who contacted me after the repair.

If you have an older car, please don't take it here. Took my 2005 Honda accord for a simple alignment and wheel assembly $700 later I'm still driving completely crooked. These people are scammers and when you're not happy the responses to honest customer reviews is disgusting. The mechanic Lonny accused us of cross-threading our lug nut after they fixed our wheel assembly improperly. They just didn't want to admit to their own wrongdoing. He tried to say they fixed it for free after we brought it back. The front desk woman seemed awfully apologetic after they realized their mistake so it clearly wasn't our fault. The other reviews of people giving negative feedback is absolutely true and had I taken those reviews into consideration I would have gone elsewhere. The building may have been there for 40 years but there's absolutely no way it's the same person because these people are scammers. They clearly don't know how to be honest and will take your money and leave your car worse then you brought it in.

Action Auto Repair has been my Go-To Repair shop for over two years. They don't cut corners and don't dish-out any B.S. They just tell you the facts and make honest suggestions to get your wheels back on the road.They work on my Toyota & Ford Diesel and have not left me hanging. Their prices are very reasonable and workmanship top notch. They have a mechanic who specializes on Porsches and another on Mini Coopers.Joe & Nick run the front office and both are qualified mechanics, so they know what they're talking about.They're closed on the weekends so plan ahead. You won't be disappointed.

I've moved to the area recently and needed a trusted repair shop, I took a chance on the Action Auto based on favourable google reviews. I'm glad I discovered such a gem of a place. From the get-go they were professional, pleasant, accomodating, and fast, and to top it off, they were very honest and affordable, which is so major that I truly feel lucky. Things could have gone bad if I went somewhere else.I had a weird noise coming from the front of my car and my first thought was it could be my brakes, or suspenssion ( or who knows what other 100 little or serious issues as well). They could have told me whatever they wanted and I would have to take their word for it, but instead they told me to do an oil change, (since mine was low,) start there, and see if that resolves my problem. Lo and behold, it did the trick. No costly diagnostics, or smoke and mirrors game , just an honest advise, a prudent approach, and keen eyes of seasoned professionals to handle my car like an A team. I must admit that not keeping tabs on my oil level was pretty foolish of me, and that could have tempted anyone to take an advantage of someone seemingly clueless, and yet I was in great hands that did not fail. Thank you everyone at Action Auto, from the front to the back of the shop everyone was wonderful.

Called on a late morning of a Friday and my part was ready by the same afternoon. I had called another place the day prior and they still didn't have my part ready and were more expensive. Being a female (and of color), I'm always weary of these types of places because they tend to take advantage of people. That was not the case here, they had exactly what I needed and at a reasonable price. I will be back for the rest of my auto parts needs. Thank you guys at Action Auto!!!

This is one of those shops you stay away from unless you like to get robbed!!After coming in for alignment and a bad stud/lugnut wouldnt come off wheel. They said the wheel assembly and motor mounts need to be done. I said, "Let's just do the alignment and wheel assembly." No one ever advised me that the car will not drive straight if you do not fix the motor mounts Making the allignment job Pointless to do.They said ok we'll get that done for you, no problem. Car is Still Pulling to the right Does not drive straight. Now they tell me it's because of your motor mounts that they did recommend to fix but At no time did anyone say if you don't fix the mounts, the alignment job is pointless to have done. Only after I complained now they explained it all. The first time, they returned the car to me, the brand new wheel assembly had a cross threaded lugnut and they had the balls to say hey we fixed that for free saying I might have been the one to do it! Just under $700, still not driving straight. Thanks, Action Auto!

Took my wife's Honda in for ac repair, they did a great job. Honest and friendly folks. Highly recommend them for any auto repairs. Owner is very nice and takes excellent care of customers.

** update 2024...i am now going here for my auto service. johnny & shaya are very customer focused & a pleasure to deal with. shuttle service a plus. their rewards program is a nice incentive as well.Just wanted to say i sincerely thank you for giving me a estimate on cost of repairs for my crown vic and detailing what absolutely needed to be done for safety and what can possibly wait. ashley has been super on the phone and in person. definitely will come back if i end up getting a used car for a free pre-car inspection. i couldn't have asked for more. i may even decide to go here from now on instead of around the corner to my local repair shop (who has been great btw).Service: Steering & suspension repair

Shame on me for not getting other quotes for service needed or insisting on a detailed understanding of the estimate I was given which increased about 30% from what I was initially told, with no change in what was to be done.After the factI checked other sources and found I may have paid 25-30% more than was typical for the same service. The only reason for two stars is the repairs appear to have been successful.Services: Air conditioning, Oil change

This place is great with Great customer service. I have taken my old Chevy pickup there twice because of problems with emissions. Both times they diagnosed the problem and got it to pass. They even took it to get retested for me, so saving me from taking time off work to get it tested.I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good honest shop for there car. Action Auto is great, I took my vehicle in because of starter issues. My vehicle was in and out within about 24 hrs, fantastic communication. Cathy followed up about a week later which I deeply appreciate, as Ive had subpar auto services from other businesses and they couldn t have cared less whether or not I was happy with the service. 10/10 would come back again (hopefully not though lol).

Update 6-28-2022 I won't go into detail...but once again...they have proven to be eager to go above and beyond in their service...even when super busy they still take time out for their customers and have saved me from being without a vehicle at a key time. The ACTION AUTO TEAM are my HEROES!!!!I cannot sing my praises loud enough for the multiple experiences i have had at this business. Every single employee I have had an interaction with has been exemplary.. From the people work in the counter to the mechanics working on my vehicle to the people. Driving me to my destination and picking me up when the work is completed... Every one of them has been fantastic!!! The prices they charge are very reasonable. And the work is done correctly the first time every time. And they take the time to explain everything thoroughly and not ever being condescending. This is the only mechanic shop that I've ever met where I would feel comfortable sending a girlfriend or a female family member to, and know they won't get ripped off. If I could give them another five stars, I would. These guys should wear capes as part of their uniforms...they are all superheroes in my book!

It was a great experience. I found a good car Dodge Avenger, low miles (90,699) and friendly customer service. Approval was easy. Option to pay bi-weekly or monthly. I recommend this place to anyone looking to purchase a good reliable used vehicle.

I love action repair. I like the fact that you can get a ride to and from wherever you need to be rather than just one ride. I love it that they found the problems on my truck and I felt like they knew exactly what was wrong with my truck but I didn't know how to describe it to get it fixed but they found those problems and fixed them. It cost me a bit of money but it was worth it because I haven't done that much work on my truck. Anyway. I would definitely give them a shout out to try them. I would recommend them for any of your automotive service needs and highly recommend them if you're having any problems. Things I didn't like about it. I didn't like the fact that I had to pay for a diagnostic fee when they did so much other work and they got paid so much money anyway. Maybe they should have gave me a rebate for their diagnostic fee because they did so much work. Just saying.

Was quoted a diagnostic fee (approximately $160) to figure out why a certain code kept firing off even though I replaced some parts. I had no problem paying that fee. I did all the easy stuff myself and was frustrated because I couldn't get my check engine light to turn off. So my last resort was to take my vehicle into a shop. With that in mind, I had a general sense that it could be one of two options. I asked them to try the least expensive option first, to which we verbally agreed on.Now this is where my problem lies. I dropped off my car 11/14 and was told that I would receive a call later in the day to discuss the diagnostic findings. The whole day went by and no call, I gave them the benefit of the doubt they might have been supper busy. The next day, they finally reached out to me in the morning. They determined from their "master tech" that it was my VVT solenoid on B1. I was quoted, approximately $750 to have the solenoid replaced, that included diagnostic fee. I was reassured that was the likely cause of the problem. As I mentioned above, I agreed to having that fixed, now knowing that was the cause of my persistent check engine light and was properly "diagnosed" by their again "master technician". In a sense, I had a peace of mind. Fast forward to approximately 2:00 pm, I had not heard from them to come pick up the vehicle. Which again, prompted me to call them to see if it was completed. This is where I become more discouraged, the person on the phone informed me that the solenoid valve sensor assembly needed to be replaced (this was the more expensive route and the second option I believed to be the culprit of the check engine light) and was quoted approximately 2.3K. This was a big difference from the original quote. Keep in mind this was after the "master tech" determined that it was the VVT solenoid. At this point, I did not think a diagnostic was even completed and felt more like a bait and switch. After telling me that the assembly cap needed to be replaced, I asked them if they tried replacing the VVT solenoid. To which they said "no". At this point, I asked if I can come pick up my car due to them not performing the service that we agreed on. It gets better, they then told me that the assembly was already taken apart. I was never contacted nor did I agree to have them perform that service. In addition to that, I was told that a new gasket was needed to put it back together (which I am thankful that they were honest about that). Furthermore, I was told I could take the car home, knowing that there was a compromised or no gasket in place to safely operate the vehicle. We agreed to have everything put back together with the new gasket and I would come pick it up the next day.The following day I expected them to communicate with me an ETA on when I could expect to pick up my vehicle; which did not happen. Again....I was prompted to call and inquire. I was told they received the part and should be ready to pick up in an hour or so. Fast forward approximately 4 hours, no call. Again, I had to call to see if it was ready for pick up and was happy to hear that it was.This service should have taken a day, two days max to complete. I give them a three star due to Shannon doing damage control, explaining to me the situation of what happened, and made it right by not charging me for any of the service fees. I did pay for the new gasket, which is nothing in the grand scheme of things. I would have given them a one star had she not make it right and for their poor communication with me as a customer. I should not have to call to check the status. In view, I was without a car for 3 days and my check engine light is still on. Needless to say, this is the reason why people do not trust mom and pop auto shops. I try to support local businesses but I'll pay extra to the auto dealerships to not deal with these kinds of situations. I do not think I would consider being a repeat client.

Been using these guys for years now. Each time I've had work done I never have to go back for the same issue. They get it done right the first time, every time. They clearly go out of their way to make sure all related and unrelated issues are addressed. Pricing is very reasonable. They've always finished the job quicker than the initial ETA. Extremely professional service!! The staff has such a great energy, making you feel comfortable and safe. They are definitely helpful as well as genuinely caring. Ashley commincated so well and made it easier for someone like me(who knows nothing about cars) to understand what was going on clearly. They repaired what was needed easily and quickly. I am happy I decided to take a chance with this business. They even went the extra mile to fix some plastic that had been hanging from my car for FREE.
