After experiencing an error code on our 2016 Ford Escape, we took our car to a nearby AAMCO for a diagnostic. After keeping the car for a few hours, we were notified that "your transmission is shot." We were then quoted over $7800 for the repair.Not comfortable with the diagnostic, we went to a second mechanic for another opinion. Needless to say, it was not in fact the transmission itself, it was simply a valve connected to the transmission that had a leak in it. We would've paid over $7k for a new transmission when the car didn't in fact need one.$900 paid to the second mechanic, car drives great, and no issues since. What a disappointing experience with a trusted, and very well known establishment. Just goes to show that not all mechanics are honest. Paid over $389 for an inaccurate, misleading, and blatant misrepresentation of services-we were deliberately misled and lied to.We will be filing a claim with the BBB, this is not ok and we can only imagine how many people have been ripped off in this same manner.

Very honest, knowledgeable and professional. I initially thought that I would need transmission work done, however the mechanic ruled that it was something else so I appreciated their honesty regarding the situation and letting me know about the actual work that needed to be done. It turned out better than I thought.

We've had several of our vehicles serviced here in the past year and every time they've done an outstanding job. Services were transmission fluid and filter replacement and ac blower motor.

The guys who work there are great. Friendly and professional. Prices are fair and they don't try to upsell you. They are good about honoring their warranties. Would recommend them to a friend.

Brought my car here back in 12/2018. Car has 120k on it and the transmission was slipping. Needed a reliable car for work and to transport the kids so I brought it here. Spent $4500 on their "certified" rebuilt transmission. Now it's 01/2023 I've put just under 30k miles on this vehicle and the torque converter has gone out. It's only an 05 taurus, it's not like I was taking it to the race track on the weekends. So now I have a car stuck in my driveway with just under 150k miles that doesn't want to move. Warranty is expired so I know they wont do anything about it. Will not ever come back to this place. I have also informed everyone I know not to waste their money here via social media and in person.Service: Transmission

Went in for diagnostics and was told it was a 380+ charge I agreed and later was told the repairs would cost $8000 so I declined as it was to much later I went in to pay and receive a diagnostics sheet on what the repairs were need and the cost and I got nothing! But two basic codes I read off my own obd they're special diagnostics was a way for them to steal 380 from me and attempt to overcharge me for labor and services they couldn't specify horrible place don't go here ! They will rip you off!!

Scott is the best! We had bought our 2015 tundra from a dealer. Ram fine until our transmission started giving out. Had to purchase a new transmission because our dealership did not want to help. Stay one still messed up. I took a chance with aamco. I said if a dealership can t help, what would these guys do? I felt horrible after saying that because the job, the time and the patience they gave us and our truck, was unbelievable!!! He called and let us know almost everyday how the work was going. He actually found out why our old transmission keep giving out. Saved us thousands trying to just throw a transmission after transmission. Those guys there get your job done right! As I am writing this review I m on a trip around Arizona and it s a literal miracle this truck runs as smooth as it should! Thank you Scott and all your techs as well! Very professional and organized. I was very happy with the level of service I received. They allowed me to come in and see my transmission taken apart so that I could see where the problem was. This gave me confidence that The correct repair was being accomplished. They returned my vehicle to me in a timely manner, and I have had no more issues with that repair. I recommend them for repairs as they lived up to their name and reputation.Service: Transmission

Last week we took our car in to check our A.C. Leland, the shop manager, was very professional. They estimated the repairs over the phone and when we went to pick up our car, they could have charged us what we were told but he informed us the job was a little different and charged us less. I would recommend this AAMCO based on that alone. The service was excellent!

Restoring a 1992 d21 and this compny was fantastic they ent bove and beyond to make sure the job was done right they communicated to me in every step this is my shop looking forward to continued buisness thank u so much i would reccomend them to anyone

Leland's communication was honest. He never tried to oversell me on services. Repairs were done quickly. I have owned many cars and understand the workings of car engines, this may have been the best experience I have had with car repairs and the communication, and confidence in the repairs that were being done. This Amco team is great. Brian, the front office manager is friendly and organized. He answered all of my questions, gave me an initial estimate before they opened up my transmission and then came under the estimate on final delivery. They've also got a great warranty to back up their service. After having dealt with dealerships and other transmission shops, I finally felt safe handing over my car to Brian and his team. Their master mechanic knows transmissions front to back. Finally a place that wasn't trying to manipulate me through fear or gouge me on prices. As a female I highly recommend this AAMCO to other women who want a trustworthy place deserving of their business.

If you want to be screwed over then this is the shop for you.If you want a worst case scenario rebuild price just for the manager to tell you he can t so he can screw you later on with the price when your transmission is out of the vehicle already then this is the shop for you.If you want your personal belongings inside of the truck to be gone thru then this is the shop for you.If you want to get the cops involved because the manager threatens to physically remove you from the property when you come to pick your vehicle up from their shop and have it towed to a better and more reliable shop then this is the shop for you.If you want to be talked down to by the manager and talked over then this is the shop for you.If you want other parts on your vehicle damaged then this is the shop for you.If you want your interior to smell like gear oil and have stains all over it then this is the shop for you.If you want the manager to deny you of paying with a card stating that you can only pay with cash or a cashier s check then this is the shop for you.I have had nothing but a horrible experience with this AAMCO location. If I could rate this shop 0 stars I definitely would. I would advise everyone against going to this shop. I have plenty of pictures and video proof backing up the damage to my vehicle and my story which is too long to post on this review. Like I said earlier, it you want to be screwed then this is the shop for you! I have already filed a complaint with the better business bureau and I am going to corporate with my complaints and story. I hope that nobody ever goes to this shop, I feel bad for some of the mechanics here who do good work but they get a bad reputation because of John!

I've been coming to Aamco for service in my 2015 Chevrolet Trax, within this past year. They've done a great job! They have replaced fuel injectors, spark plugs & my tension belt & so far my vehicle has been running good! They've kept me up to date by phone calls & within a timely manner when I take my vehicle to their shop. I recommend this place if you have vehicle issues.

My car was leaking oil plus making a funny noise when turning on the air conditioner. I brought it in to AAMCO. My car has been taken care of their before and very please with repairs and personal. This time my vehicle needed a lot of work done. I spoke to John who was very kind and went threw everything that needed to be done. He was very busy with other calls coming in and costumers waiting but took the time to talk with me. Thank you very much John for your great costumer service and the fantastic mechanics who worked on my vehicle to keep it running smoothly. I would recommend this AAMCO to my friends and family. I trust their work. Thank you again.

Brought my car in to repair the rear window. The customer service at this shop is always of the highest quality. They take care of business well and quickly and get you back on the road in no time. I've been bringing my vehicles to this AAMCO for a number of years now and will continue to do so for many years to come. Thanks to John and the boys for making car care as enjoyable as it possibly can be!

This Aamco has amazing customer service. They completely fixed our transmission at a VERY reasonable price compared to their competitors. Then when we thought there was a complication they took the car for evaluation and fixed something for free that wasn't even related to the transmission. We now have our second vehicle there for the 90K check up and have total confidence in their abilities and know that we will also receive the same stellar service we received the first time...complete with pick ups and drop offs at work too!!

THIS IS MY FAVORITE CAR REPAIR SHOP!!I have had consistently EXCELLENT SERVICE and superb work done at this location. I recently purchased a vehicle which this Aamco inspected for me. Before that, I had taken my original car (Kia Sorento) to them a few times for both minor and major repairs. I never had to bring my vehicle back for any re-occurring issues, my vehicle simply had 250k+ miles on it.Today I took in my new (used) Ford Explorer for an electrical issue which they easily identified and repaired, and they also replaced my oil.The things I like most about this place:* Their professional service* Shop manager Leland is friendly and very helpful explaining repairs, without a single ounce of being condescending as sometimes experienced at other shops* The guys in the shop do great work & leave my vehicle clean every time* All my repairs have been priced fairly & I don't have to make return visits* I get calls when my car is ready & she is always ready when promisedOne simply cannot get better service than that! My check engine light came on, so the next day my husband called AAMCO. They said to bring it in. Within minutes they knew exactly what the problem was, and was able to tell us exactly how much it was going to be. We told them we live two hours away, so they worked hard to get it fixed fast. We brought the car in around ten and they were finished at two the same day. They did great work and are so kind and friendly. We definitely enjoyed our experience and will trust them from now on to do all work on our car.

If you have car problems or need it serviced this is for sure the place to take it. I have never met a more honest group of mechanics, and they are very good at staying in touch during the stages of repair. I am happy and my car is happy! Call Leland at AAMCO and you will be in good hands.

Outstanding service! Leland and the crew at AAMCO replaced my entire transmission after it literally exploded in rush hour traffic. They did the job in the time and for the amount they originally quoted, despite it being an older vehicle. They kept me informed every step of the way. This is the most trustworthy shop I have ever been too! I had MANY things wrong with my vehicle and they gave me a list with the cost. The shop manager came out and showed empathy to me and my financial situation. He told me all of the options available as well as the cheapest most important things that should get done sooner than later. He broke it down for me so that I didn t feel overwhelmed. I will be a continued customer and refer my family and friends!! Thank you!!

Visited here for the first time on a recommendation from a friend. I had some loss of power on towing and suspected a gasket leak in my transfer case. I was told it would take about 1 hour to do the check on the truck and they had it done in 50 minutes. The repair work was completed that day. They even gave me a ride home so I wouldn't have to sit there all day.John was very helpful and explained everything that needed to be done (visually showing me on the truck) as well as some issues that I needed to keep an eye on for future care. I plan on being a regular here for all my drive train issues!

It takes quite a bit to get me to write a review, my expectations are high whenever I am spending hard earned money. John and AAMCO on Cave Creek Rd. are truly the exception to everything your father warned you about in auto repair shops. It would take paragraphs to explain the over and above effort they put into making our wheelchair van long-term road worthy, at a price that was more than fair. John errs on the side of the customer, his technicians are exceptional and the van drives as if it was brand new. An exceptional repair experience.

Had issue with A/C in car and they do a free inspection unless need to have electronic diagnostic done. The person i spoke with real friendly let me know what was gonna be done prices on things that could be possibly wrong from big to small. Very courteous. He asked if any work needed be performed if they had permission to fix or of wanted to be informed. Been to places where they just do it and expect you to pay. Unfortunately mine needed more and due to COVID loss of finances couldn't afford much they did offer credit and pay plan but my work not scheduled to open late October.

Brought in my sons 94 jeep Cherokee found out it was a siezed drive line. The y cherged 1200 dollars to replace the u joints and a sensor in thr trans that only allows the vehicle to start in drive and park. Still starts in gear. Was charged for the service and never recieved it. Another shop would have done the driveline for 300. The sensor is external would have just charged for the part. Other aamco locations are HONEST just not this one.

I totally recommend this shop to anybody that wants to get a quality job at a fair price. I visited a couple of shops before this one to get an estimate to fix the transmisi�n in my Chevy cargo Van. When I finally made it here, I got a budget from Bryan (front desk) that was $1,000 less than the last place i went. They fixed my Van in a timely manner. They gave me a warranty on the job and parts. And they asked me to comeback 15 days after the repair just to check how is my repaired transmission doing.

BEWARE. Brought in my truck for 50,000 transmission service. They had to loosen my exhaust to remove the pan. When I picked it up it had an exhaust leak. Brought it back the next day for repair "I even supplied them with new exhaust gaskets just in case". They worked on the truck for about 45 minutes and said it was good to go. The exhaust still leaked. I brought it home and found two bolts loose, I also found they broke off one of my exhaust manifold studs and put in some random bolt. I'm sure I could have taken it back a third time but I didn't want them touching my truck anymore and possibly breaking off another stud. I shouldn't have had to wrench on my own truck after I paid over $300 for a transmission and differential service. I contacted the dealer and they would have done the same services for less than AAMCO charged. I will not return to AAMCO in the future.

My power steering went out right as I was turning right in front of the AAMCO Cave Creek shop. Even though it was a 1/2 hour before they closed, they diagnosed the broken belt, gave a quote, had the part sent over and the auto tech stayed after his shift to install it. I was back on the road an hour after walking through their doors. John went WAY beyond what is expected to help out someone in need. I couldn't thank him enough and he proved that there are still good people around! I would highly recommend this shop!
