Bought a Jeep 4.0L cylinder head from 505. My first issue was finding that the valves were leaking and all had sand under them. From what I can assume is a sloppy job lapping the valves. Second, I had to keep asking if they had sent out the head despite the fact that when I bought it, they said it was ready to ship. I also could not get thru to 505 after I bought the head. I called twice to ask about a cam and some questions about the head. 505 was so quick to sell me the head in the beginning, I could hardly get thru the questions. That s on me, but be wary of someone trying to make a quick buck. If they did any decent work then maybe they d answer the phone after selling parts. Instead they ll sell you something once and then never answer your calls. Even if it s inquiring about a cam. I don t recommend and definitely won t be back.

I didn't purchase anything, but my friend directed me to 505 Performance for questions on a amc 4.2 build. The owner is very knowledgeable, and was able to answer all my questions and had all applications available. These guys had the best price all around for forged pistons with rings and rods.

I was happy when I found 505 Preformance as they sold complete stroker kits for the Jeep 4.0. Their consumer service and attention to detail however leaves much to be desired. I ordered a stage 2 kit with cast pistons and added an exhaust header, new higher preformance cylender head, roller rockers and a heat treated and nitrided cam. I was told that it would take 2 weeks to that the cam and put the kit together. This was perfectly acceptable and I paid my $3730 for the parts I wanted. Within 4 days I received the tracking number for my parts and I was ecstatic. I was told that that was shipment 1 of 3 and would receive the tracking on the remaining 2 within a couple days. Upon receipt of the first shipment I inventoried the parts with my copy of my order and the copy of my order in the box. I had received my supposedly heat treated cam that was supposed to take a couple weeks to come back from treatment. I also received all of the gaskets and seals needed. The box of piston rings was however a bit beat up . It had been opened and was missing a single ring. I spent the next 2 weeks trying to call 505 and inquire into the remaining parts and missing piston ring and didn't get an answer or a call back after leaving voice-mails. When I finally did get ahold of someone 3 weeks after receiving my initial shipment I was told that they would send me a piston ring and that my cylender head, pistons, rods, fuel injectors and roller rockers were on the way out to me. 2 weeks later I finally got my pistons and piston ring, but nothing else. When I took the pistons to my machine shop to finish boring so that clearance was good the machine shop asked me if i was sure that i ordered cas pistons because I had received forged pistons. At this point it is 6 weeks after placing an order that I was told would be 2 weeks to fulfill. I was never notified that 505 was behind or that it would take this long to get my parts, which would have been understandable given the pandemic if I had been notified. I once again tried to call 505 for over a week and got one answer in their office and left a message with the secretary about my concerns, which were never addressed or even responded to. At this point I sent an email to 505 explaining my concerns and stated that if my already paid for order couldn't be fulfilled that I had no problem filing a dispute on my payment and seeking a refund. The only response that I got was a tracking number that was never received by USPS. A month later I received another tracking number that had actually been received by USPS. This shipment finally had my cylender head which by this point I have 0 faith in the quality of 505's work so I had it checked by my preferred machine shop to find out that the head hadn't even been completely machined and had mismatched valves. It also didn't have the rockers that I was told would be on it. Instead I received those another week later, about the same time that I got the new injectors. Now that I have all of the parts I am assembling this engine to findout that the timeing kit doesn't have the spring for the retaining pin and 505 didnt bother to include the woodruff keys for the timing sprocket or harmonic balancer. So in short my 2 week order took 3 months, was missing parts and wasn't even completely machined and properly assembled. I will also post this review on 505s website so we will see if they just delete it.

Bought a 4.0 cyl head for a Jeep xj. Technical support over the phone and the actual product they sent is top notch quality. Would recommend to anyone who is building a 4.0.

Ordered a 4.9 stroker kit. I could not be happier. This thing is an animal. I did have to wait for my parts longer than expected but I also have to remember this is a custom build so it takes time. I am happy beyond belief at the quality of the product. Thanks 505 I will recommend all of my jeep friends. Thanks for the awesome engine parts.

Ordered a "modified" Stage 1 (cut a few things out, varied other parts) Jeep 4.6 Stroker KitGreat Knowledge, Proper advice, Overall good customer service. Strong Pricing.Note: Its seemed that every time 505 went above and beyond there was also a hiccup in the process to offset it. (delayed shipping, a few misunderstandings all relatively minor)Not Perfect but overall with a process this complicated, and them having to explain a few things along the way I couldn't be happier. Parts fit, engine runs great, end of the day they helped me with every single concern. Pricing and flexibility of the kit they assembled was unmatched.

I ordered a custom tuner on 09/26/17. After three weeks of no product and payment received with 3 unanswered emails and one voicemail not returned, I finally got in touch with Brian on Monday 10/23/17. He told me the in house tuner was in Sweden for the last month which is understandable however that would be something a customer should be made aware of. Brian then told me that he was back state side that morning and I would receive my product by Wednesday or Thursday of that week( 10/25-10/26/17). The product still has not arrived, I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and waited until Saturday in case they were backed up do to his absence. The product still has not shown up by Monday 10/30/2017. I sent an email that was not responded to again, I then called that after noon and talked to someone who did not give their name I was just told that he would put his hands on the part and call me back. I was never called back, I received an email that evening(10/30/17) from a Miranda Steele that just said Fedex with the tracking number and thank you. I have ordered from this company before and did not have this problem hopefully if I decide to buy another product that I do not run into this again.

I have received Jeep parts from them, and they are high quality parts. If you are into hot-rodding your jeep based vehicles, this is the place to go.

purchased a camshaft and some other parts for a customers project, first package got lost, second package was the wrong parts/ missing parts due to shipping damage, but the third package was spot on and overnighted, Zakk took the time to handle all the shipping issues, and was super easy to deal with, great parts, great prices and would defiantly be using them again.

505 is not doing well for us at this time. Impossible to get any response from Zach, months have gone by and just can't seem to get anywhere. I want my jeep back on the road!!

Worst company ever, horrible customer service, told me "piston size doesn't matter, its only the thickness of a human hair", sent the pistons back, still have not received a refund after 6 months, and yes I've been contacting them but get the same run around, Zach Steele's is a liar and a warn you if considering 505 performance for anything
