I needed help with my car for a second opinion and already spent quite a bit on repairs at home and other shops. Dave explained what was going on every step of the way and helped me make the best decision on the car. I already have an appt set to do some work on another vehicle next Saturday. Would certainly recommend if you re looking for an honest shop!

I highly recommend Apex and here is why: My 2008 Jeep Wrangler with 170K miles engine was failing due to age and hard core use from adventuring off-road. My choices were to rebuild it or just go with a remanufactured engine. I chose the remanufactured route for various reasons. I researched many places in the Phoenix valley who do this work. Whoever I chose had to meet the sniff test when it came their commitment to quality and how they stand behind their work. Putting a new engine in is a big financial decision, but for me its also a safety issue since I spend a great amount of time in remote and harsh locations documenting off-road trails in the western US. In my search I found Apex. I called and spoke with the owner, Dave senior and was impressed. Before I made the final decision to work with Apex I wanted to meet with them and see their shop. Again, I was impressed with their knowledge, candor and transparency. Out of all the shops I spoke and met with, I got the best feeling of a commitment to quality from Apex. Post install: my Jeep seems more capable engine wise now then when I bought it with only 13K miles on it and I am looking forward to enjoying this motor for a very long time. Apex was a breeze to work with and the whole process was painless with no surprises at the end. I highly recommend Dave and his team to anyone and if you are a Jeep JK owner, these guys were well versed in our 3.8 liter which is an added bonus.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Never been happier in such a short amount of time with the service I received here. I brought in my 1992 GMC Typhoon to have the turbo and Evap to be looked at, and he did not hesitate to pull it around into the shop. He also educated me on exactly what needed to be done and did some minor tuneup for no charge. Was totally blown away with this service. Awesome guy and real quality service. Will recommend to anyone who I meet that needs an honest mechanic. I will be back. Thank you so much APEX automotive.

Honesty is my top requirement of a mechanic. Apex has transparent pricing and is fine with you checking out the work while it's being done. I took the opportunity then to talk with my tech Frank quite a bit as he switched my worn out motor mounts and fixed my busted door. He's a great conversationalist and a skilled, veteran technician.Dave (the owner) is a businessman who really understands quality customer service. Cool and composed, Dave is a good guy who appreciates the finer points of helping people out and ensuring customer satisfaction.If you're considering between mechanics right now, at the very least please go talk to Dave. He'll steer you in the right direction.

I m from out of town,like Michigan. Called Dave up for and engine replacement. Got a fair quote and got something hard to get now a days. CUSTOMER SERVICE! ,!!! Dave kept me up to date on getting the vehicle towed to when the engine was ordered to when they started taking out the old while. Waiting on the rebuilt to arrive. When the rebuilt came in it was put in and tested and ready to go in just a few days. I was a great experience dealing with a professional.5star serviceService: Engine repair

It's hard to find an honest repair shop these days. They explain upfront what you need. Service was fairly priced and done fast. My Lincoln MKX is running great! Thanks to Dave and Dave Jr.

Great service and made things very convenient. He helped me pass my emissions by running its drive cycle and watching its sensors while other mechanics didn t take any time to help me. He also provided very valuable advice and information to know for the future! This shop was awesome and has taken care of us! We are so appreciative for their professionalism, expertise, and genuineness.We were in a really tight spot and had just moved to the area and had no idea who to trust with our car. Luckily this shop was recommended to us by a friend and we are so grateful that we listened.Jade was so friendly and welcoming when we called and David was such an honest, straight-shooter! You could tell he knew what he was talking about and was willing to hep guide us through the repair (motor mounds). Their professionalism hasn t stopped there, they even allowed us to call them when we had a bad battery to ask more questions to help us solve our problem. These people really take care of their own.So happy we have a trustworthy mechanic shop that has our back. We will be going back for maintenance with them from here on out. they re our people now! Very professional and doesn't try to sell or work on what isn't needed. He tells you his plan based on what problems you have explained/described and fills you in on each step as he completes it. I needed a mechanic so I googled "honest mechanic near me" and Apex Auto came up! I'm so grateful it did! I've gone to them a few times and I won't go anywhere else! I feel like Dave and Dave care about their customers and they're honest and friendly. I've told many people about them and their great service. I'm thankful for the hard work they do so I can be assured my car runs smoothly and efficiently. And I'm thankful for their honesty

I have an 2006 Ford Expedition it's getting older but Dave the owner knows how much this rig means to me. He has kept her running amazing. He doesn't lie to you, only fixes what you agree to have fixed. His staff are polite, and go above and beyond to make your experience a positive one. We will never take our car to anyone else. I'm picky, and this shop meets my approval. Our car has had 3 visits to Dave, they all ended on a great note. Feel confident that they will all treat you right and fair.Thank you Dave for all you do... I'm so thankful.

This shop is the best!!!! I don't think i have ever been to a better car repair shop then this. Customer care is top notch. Dave knows his stuff about cars and explains things so well and is very thorough. No hidden costs and will tell you the exact price up front.He did a great job diagnosing a P0420 code I was getting which was a bad catalytic converter. During the repair he found the exhaust manifold cracked which I why the cat went out. He kept me updated along with fast ordering of the part and also kept the old parts to show me which not too many shops do. Dave even volunteered to take my car through emissions testing so I didn t have to worry about that but I did myself and passed first time. How many shops stand by their work and do this for you This one does.They have earned my trust and the five star rating and every five start rating in the past and future reviews. Dave is an emissions genius! I have been having trouble with my check engine light and had taken my vehicle to multiple shops. None could fix and one shop wanted to replace the entire catalytic converter system and quoted $1800+. Dave explained his process and laid out expectations for us. This shop does quality work. Dave jr and Sr are great technicians. I went here because it was highly rated on Google and near the emissions testing facility. They not only solved my emissions problems but my engine has never been so responsive. My truck has a 22-RE and these guys put the extra effort into identifying challenges that the engine kept presenting them. They were professional and courteous throughout and provided me with timely updates throughout the process. Dave is just amazing. My husband and I purchased a 1998 chevy express and it has a lot of mechanical issues. Our biggest issue was the check engine light. Dave worked with us to get each code fixed. We started with replacing the fuel pump and the catalytic converter. Which solved our problem and finally passed DEQ. Whenever I have a problem he's been available to look at the problem and help us figure out the best fix. He's reasonable and honest and plan on using him for our mechanic for our vehicles we own. He really cares about his customers and has goes above and beyond for us to make our vanlife dream come true. We plan about telling others about apex.

The crew at Apex Automotive are simply AMAZING!!! I honestly can't adequately express how happy I am with the whole experience. David is a truly genuine guy. He is honest, straight forward, and trustworthy. David and his team took the unexpected bad car situation I was in and did everything they could to make it into a positive and affordable experience for my family and I. They really went above and beyond for us. I'm so grateful to have found a mechanic I can trust. Knowing they won't try to take advantage of customers (especially female customers) makes them the only place I'd recommend to anyone who needs anything done to any car ever.

I don't do reviews but after taking my vehicle to Dave for the second time for a major repair it was a must. As long as Dave keeps Apex Auto open my vehicles will only be going to him. I HATE dealing with mechanics, usually they are trying to get the most out of you that they can. Dave tells you exactly what's wrong and what it will take to fix it without charging you your first born to do so or any extra b.s. repairs and does it with quality oem parts. Finally, a good honest tech who does great work. Highly recommend taking your vehicles to them, they have a 5 star rating for a reason.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Fantastic work and phenomenal service. Both Daves were very knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely be returning. Last week, I took my vehicle to Apex Automotive and Emissions and received an excellent services from Dave Dyer Sr. & Dave Dyer Jr. Both were very professional and fixed my vehicle on the same day. As a woman I always feel like I am getting ripped off by mechanics. I do my best to avoid car repairs and schedule regular maintenance because I just don't want to deal with the condescending tones of Mike in a grease stained shirt saying mechanic slang words and probably making things up to then take all my money and leave me bitter.But now that I found Apex, I no longer have car repair anxiety. This place is amazing. I don't get a roll of the eyes because I ask for things to be explained. I don't get mechanic slang and condescension. What I DO get is friendly service. A Cheers the TV show like affect when I call and they remember me and my vehicles. I get staff that want to help me and don't want to rip me off. I don't have to wait 5 hours because they will always offer a ride home or a loaner car. For real. They even help people out with loaner cars.Now that I found Apex, I won't go anywhere else.Thanks Dave Senior and Junior and all of the rest of their team!KatherineChevy Colorado and Ford Fusion

Out of all the mechanics I've did here in Phoenix Dave by far has the best customer service and knows what he's doing down to a science. Unlike most mechanics, you get the impression that Dave actually cares about you and priorities your customer experience and satisfaction above all else. I dont plan to use any other mechanic again. Very HAPPY! David and his staff are thorough, knowledgeable and down right nice! My car has issues, some left over from another mechanic. They not only helped me fix that issue, but we are now working on general 5 yr maintenance repairs / replacements at a fair price. They do a good job, don't mind if you have questions and most of all are giving me good advice to keep my car running for a very long time. One other thing I like is that they have not forced me to get everything done at once with using fear like other places have done. They tell me what needs to be done and what to do in the future.David and his crew are good guys and good professional mechanics!I have given their name out to others, which means I trust them and DO RECOMMEND them to others.

Working with Apex and Dave Jr. was the greatest experience I've ever had when dealing with anyone in the automotive industry. Let's be honest, nobody wants to ever have to take the car to the mechanic, but dealing with David @ Apex made it so sweet and easy that i personally will never go anywhere else. The work he did on my Cadillac has made my family & I customers for Life. He kept me informed through every step of the process and made sure I was aware of everything so there was no surprise fees that you usually get when dealing with mechanics. The fact I own a Cadillac made every estimate higher than normal and he beat every estimate I had by a minimum of $550. Apex Automotive was a great find and truly a blessing. So thank you Dave and the Apex team. If I could rate you 10 Stars I would. So thank you again and I'll be getting ahold of you to start the other work we discussed.THANK YOU BROTHER-ZACH MEYER

Great family owned business. Up front pricing, quality work. I ve lived in AZ for 17 years and this is the only shop that has repaired my vehicle correctly and they finished the work when promised. Dave was super up front and honest with me the whole time he worked with me and my truck. I let him know all the work I had done to try and get my check engine light to stay off and he told me he'd make double sure during his inspection to make sure we hadn't missed anything small. In the meantime they gave me a free rental car to get me to and from work so I didn't have to Uber everywhere which definitely blew me away. Every other place I had taken it to told me to sit and wait for 5 hours +. When I got back he regretfully informed me the issue was bigger than I had expected and gave me an up front honest answer and gave me my options. He didn't pressure me into anything and respectfully let me decide to go on my way with just the inspection. He reset the check engine light and it stayed off just long enough for me to pass smog and be on my way.Definitely a good group of guys and gals that have a lot of integrity which is really important to me coming from working at Discount Tire where our main focus is Integrity. Honestly a really cool group of people who just want to make sure their customers are happy and taken care of. Will definitely be coming back here for any future projects that are too big for myself to handle. Keep up the great work!

Had issues with my car, (more than one) and the guys at Apex Automotive not only took care of me, but they went that extra mile. Now days, that is so very hard to come by. Now, to kick that off, they're pricing was fantastic! Would I bring my car back to them for work? You bet I would. Would I refer them to a friend.....yep! David knows his craft, and they are all a really nice bunch of guys. I give them the old 2-thumbs-up!....thanks David.
