I'm a new customer. I've seen the place for years and years and recently my minivan had a problem while I was in Arizona and I thought I would take it there. I walked in to the most surprising Coca-Cola product presentation I'd ever seen. Things all over the place, quite fun quite quirky. I got the immediate vibe that this is a family-owned shop. I asked about that and it is. The woman behind the counter was friendly and business efficient trying to figure out what I needed and get me going as quickly as possible which I appreciate. And there was a lovely doggo who came over to investigate me. And there was a little kid hanging out. Definitely a family vibe. Speaking of the little kid as technicians came from the garage they were really nice to him and that spoke to the type of environment they have there. Everything was pretty positive.I had them fix an oil leak which they did quickly and when I got home I discovered it was still leaking. When I brought it to their attention they said bring it back and they made immediate room in the schedule to look at it and confirmed what they had worked on was not leaking. Sadly the news that I got was my oil leak was much more dramatic an issue than originally planned. But with such a good feeling for the place I said go ahead and fix it. So we'll find out if all is well after this bigger fix and if something goes awry I will update this review.

Dropped the car off and was told, they'd call in a couple of hours after the diagnostic and inspection. 6 hours later I'm calling them and they haven't even started. I have to call back a second time to coerce them to use their OBD2 diagnostic tool. Then they charge me $75 for plugging it in and telling me it's the exact same code as my $20 OBD2 sensor & say they didn't have time to look at the suspension. Not sure what customers they respect & treat well, but it sure wasn't me.

Personable, family-run business, been there for decades. Cost to replace a blower fan and resistor on our '16 MDX was about half the dealership price, and it was complete in under two days including the final drive resistor (replaced as a "while you're in there" preventative measure) which had to be ordered.Great waiting area with lots of character, and a little yellow early 70s Honda coupe (Z600?) to smile at. The lady at the counter was really nice and laughed at all my jokes, which is increasingly important to my fragile ego.

I have taken my Honda Accord there several times to be serviced. The people there are ALWAYS friendly and helpful, and their prices are VERY competitive.

And Joe Sr. And wife are pretty busy and always carry a smile in their pocket to hand out.. Stop in for anything automotive.. I'm sure they can figure bout anything out. Good prices too, fair and top notch work.

I am so thankful I found Hontech! They are locally owned and fair and honest people. I never feel like I am getting ripped off. They have saved me money and stress. I will never ever, ever go back to the Honda Dealership ever again. Call them, get an appointment, and make them your preferred repair shop. I go in for my mileage checkups, oil changes, repairs, and any car questions I have. They are the best!Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Auto maintenance

After having a terrible experience at the local Acura dealer for an AC issue I brought our RDX here and they had us diagnosed and fixed the same day for less money than it cost Acura just to try to diagnose. I would highly recommend Hontech to anyone needing car repairs.

I took in for emission diagnostics and they supposedly found the issue and repaired it. after two weeks the engine light came back and I took it back in to check my 2006 Accord. All they could say "you passed the emission so don't worry about it. You're good for another two years." Instead of owning up to the commitment of get the issue(engine light) resolved. They decided to kick the can. I was NOT happy that they charged me $300 just to reset my engine light. I don't think they are such experts in HONDA as their name touts.Service: Auto emissions testing

This place always takes the best care of my very very elderly mother's car! They never overcharge or make up new stuff to fix. In fact sometimes they fix things for free!

Had my air conditioner go out on me with an electrical issue and I thought it was going to be big bucks an a lot of down time. Brought it down to Hontech and it turned out to be about $500 and they had it done in a day. They could have charged me a lot and milked me for unnecessary repairs and I would have grudgingly paid it. But these guys are honest and fair and now they have a customer for life.Make sure you bring your car here if you want honest diagnosis and fair pricing. They will treat you right.

Honesty is still out there folks! Brought my Civic out there to be looked at and found a major issue. They helped me out with a thorough inspection and didn't charge me a dime! If you own a Honda do yourself a favor and bring it here! If I wasn't going back to California they would have a customer for life that's for sure.

I'm a long time resident of Chandler. That being stated, I've driven past Hontech hundreds of times if not thousands. I had no idea that they worked on other types of vehicles other than Honda. I recently had an emergency where my work truck gear selector linkage had come apart. My truck was stranded, in the middle of a residential street.I gave Joe Carney Jr., a call at Hontech. I was awe struck as he came within an hour, towed the truck back to their shop there on South Arizona Avenue and told me to come pick it up a a couple of days. He did everything and more that he said he would do.I was truly blown away !Finding a competent, talented, honest automotive technician WITH integrity like Mr. Carney was like hitting the lottery ! Their business is almost a one stop shop. I know the only thing that they don't do is tires. Other than that, Hontech is a grand slam ! I have and will continue to recommend them as their facility is beyond 5 stars. Thanks Joe ! You and your team at Hontech rock !

Been coming here for years with multiple cars I ve owned. Very transparent about what s going on and costs. It s cool that we could sit and watch what they re doing through the window. I notice the techs always are double checking their work. I like these people, very straightforward and gets the job done well.

I found this place a few years ago when I moved to the area. I have always had Hondas, so I was happy to find this place. They are a family run business. They are fair, honest and just provide great service. They have never steered me wrong. In the beginning, I got several estimates on a few issues and they always came out even, but usually lower than their competitors, and MUCH lower than the Honda Dealerships. When my AC broke, they charges me $1,600 less than what Honda wanted to charge me, for the same parts. If you have a Honda (or Acura) this is the place to go.

Hontech did an absolute amazing job on my car. I had an incident where i was driven off the road to avoid getting hit and completely destroyed one my tires and wheels. Hontech took my car in right before they were closed and were able to order the parts and work on it the next day. Very grateful for everyone at Hontech. Highly recommend this place

This is a nice local shop for my vehicle. I first stopped in as my alternator just died one night before the whole car died. They had me get it into the garage to lock up overnight and had it fixed the next morning before lunch. Now I've been in a few times for a good amount of work. I never feel pressured to fix anything that doesn't need fixing, they are very direct about what needs attention, and how much it will cost. The free candy and Coke memorabilia is an added benefit.

Great trustworthy garage. I paid them about half of what my old mechanic used to charge.

Very pleased and highly recommend Hontech to all Honda owners. Owners Joe and Lorraine are 2 of the most honest and professional business people in the car repair industry. Took my son's 02 crv for high idle diagnostic. Joe was so honest and told me to take crv for more computer diagnostics to the Honda dealership and did not charge us for initial visit. Thank you Joe and Lorraine for your help and honesty.

Hontech has lost my trust completely. The first incident was when they worked on my 2000 Toyota Corolla to replace some front end struts. When I got the car back it was making a grinding noise when braking, so I took it back. It turns out Hontech had given the car to another shop to work on ( a shop across the parking lot that has several 1 star reviews) and never checked the work that was done by the other shop. The struts were so loose the front end almost came apart. Hontech had it fixed after I brought it back and told them what was going on.The second incident occurred with my Honda CRV. Hontech told me I needed new brake pads as they were at 35% and less. When I took it to another shop I was told the pads were 40-45% and were fine for at least another year. When I confronted Hontech about the faulty diagnosis they blamed it on a technician who they said was working with his friend in the shop to perform unnecessary brake pad changes, but who was no longer working there. The third and final incident occurred with an oil change for the CRV I had done yesterday at the Honda dealer. Hontech had changed the oil the previous several times and they claimed that they changed the oil filter as part of these services, but the dealer told me the filter was old and dirty and had not been changed for at least 10,000 miles.I simply do not trust what Hontech tells me anymore and am having my vehicle serviced at a different shop.

Hontech is everything an auto mechanic s shop should strive to be.Before going on a road trip, we took our 2015 CR-V to AutoNation Honda for service (as we always HAD I stress had because we are forever-Hontech customers). The dealership tried to convince us to pay for services we did not need. When we called Hontech to get a quote they gave us the quote up front, no bs-ing. To no surprise Hontech s price was much better than the dealership s.The next part is even better... and why I stressed had earlier. Hontech saved us even more money because we did not need most services the dealership told us we needed.Honesty! Fair prices! Thank you Hontech, you ve earned our business.

If I could I would put negative stars..Last week I found a Honda Accord on Craigslist and called the number which was to Hontech. Both the receptionist and owner's wife/Lorraine told me the owner/Joe Carney was not available, nor would he call me back if I had questions; come see the car and per Lorraine He/Joe stands by his cars. The next day, Oct. 17th, my son & I went to the shop and met with Joe, who said verbatim The car is solid and It needs nothing. I explained This was a big decision, I'm a single parent on a tight budget and said I stand by the car. I explained to him that I had called to ask him about the car but was told No, he's busy and he won't return your calls. He said I'll return your calls. Based on all of this and the fact that he was Honda mechanic & shop owner of several years I purchased the car.On Sun, the 19th, I noticed several drops on driveway and upon inspection by a separate shop the next day, found out the car needed over $4k worth of work to be done. I was devastated. I contacted the shop and again was told by Lorraine that Joe was busy, wouldn't call me back and I could bring the car in. When I did, much to my dismay Joe was visibly not happy to see me. His response to the list of items was You should've taken the car in for an inspection before purchasing the car, The car was sold as is and I never told you that I stood by the car. When I responded that I trusted him because of who he was and because he'd given me his word that the car was solid with no issues, he became irate. He began screaming that You should've known better, How would I be able to make any profit on the car if I'd done all that maintenance, pointing and yelling he said to my son YOU should've known better. At this point, I'm ashamed to say, I started to cry which is when he said Get your stuff get your car and leave or I'm going to call the cops. Things calmed down, said said he'd do some maintenance to the car and dropped us off.He ended up keeping the car over the next 3 days. When I tried to speak with Joe on Friday Lorraine said No. I explained that he said it was okay to call and he said he'd call me back. She told me to shut up several times, she said You are a liar, You are bullsh@# and even hung-up on me.Regardless of their bad behavior, I never yelled or used profanity in my dealings with either of them but the whole time I was mortified that people, especially those with an established business, could treat others with such disdain and disrespect. Shame on them. Please be warned these are dishonest people out to make a quick buck and are not the mom and pop shop they profess to be.

what a horrible moral ethic code. The owners, Loraine & Joe, of this shop tested positive for Covid-19 and continued to do business as normal and not close even though the CDC recommends 2 weeks of quarentine. exposing customers who could potentially have underlying conditions or be family of someone who does. Shameless. Now to be as fair as possible I do not have first hand knowledge of the test results but I work for a delivery company and was told that they had tested positive and if i felt uncomfortable i didn't have to deliver to them. I cant believe they feel comfortable spreading a virus that cause a global pandemic.

I recently got a Honda Fit, my first manual transmission vehicle ever. I am an obsessive car nerd and tend to over analyze everything in my vehicle and I grow anxious when one tiny thing goes appears to be going wrong. The clutch in my Fit appeared to be losing resistance, and at the time I feared that it would soon slip. I contacted Hontec for a clutch replacement estimate, as my parents have been taking their Toyotas there for years and highly recommended them. Before they gave me an estimate they offered to look at my vehicle for free, even when I insisted that I was able to pay. Absolutely astounded with the amazing customer service here and I will definitely be bringing my vehicle here if I have any more problems that need to be looked at, or if I need maintenance. Spoiler alert: my clutch was fine, but I am very grateful that Hontec was kind enough to look at my car for free. Thanks Hontec!

Straight up, real talk?Very knowledgeable mechanics that can see what a part is and for what vehicle without having to research it is my type of dude! Because it was a small part for a radiator, he said all other places require a full radiator assembly replacement BUT he had left over radiators from previous customers and found me that trans cooling line nut. For how much was that part that no one had? FREE!!!! F-r-e-e. If only I got his name but I did shake his hand and thank him. First time I stopped by too so I definitely got an amazing first impression off of them.

We have used HonTech for almost 5 years, honest opinion, reasonable price, and I always get my car fixed the right way the first time. I have visited dealers and often get very different opinion, a much more expensive opinion.
