Horrible service. They are dishonest and only out for your money. They took our vehicle and returned it inoperable on purpose as a ruse to get us to agree to more services that were not needed. Bring your vehicle to Nome Machine Works they will take care of you and won t try and swindle every last penny out of your pocket on unnecessary work.

TSR treats my car (and me) as though I were driving the most important vehicle in Nome. They go the extra mile to keep this GRAY-ISH beast running and looking better than should be possible for a three-tone tornado-magnet with over 200,000 miles. Went in for an oil change, got cost estimates for various upgrades to be ready for the bumpy Nome Roads. Got a near full inspection during the oil change. Oil Change + Cabin Filter + Air Filter and two light bulbs ran me $206 w/tax.They recommended an upgrade to my winterization package (oil pan heater + transmission heater + battery maintainer) as well as some preventative maintenance on some engine components given the age/milage of the vehicle.My auto start didn't work after the car was dropped back off to me (same day) and I took it back the next day after calling. They promptly addressed the minor issue, no charge, and got the auto start working immediately.They seem well equipped to do anything. I've used them for business service in other capacities (Dodge 5500) w/hydraulic systems) and have always been pleased with the service provided.Good service and friendly people. Costs are somewhat higher than in Anchorage, but this is Nome. I'm deferring the (wanted) upgrades for now and will go back for preventative maintenance recommended within the next month or two.My only caution is that if you're looking for ONLY one service, state that up front, and request to be called prior to any work ancillary to the original issue before proceeding.I was pleased with the service provided and would recommend to other people. Roland is direct, straight to the point, and no nonsense.Service: Oil change

Great, reliable, trustworthy service. Full documentation on diagnostics emailed to me within 24hrs of them picking up my car. The team really understood my needs about repair priorities. My car was even returned to me vacuumed out and cleaned inside! The crew here is friendly and very easy to talk to and work with. I will only take my car here.

TSR is by far the best auto repair in Nome. They are honest, give you an informed quote, if anything changes they alert you first and get your approval, the job is accomplished with honesty, integrity, and in good order. Not only did they go above and beyond to get my car fixed, they washed it, and cleaned the inside, which, for someone who delivers straw to dogs in need during the winter and transports dogs, all the time, my car was a mess. It was huge to me to get my car back all cleaned up!!I love that they pick my car up and drop it back off, it saves me so much time, I can't say enough good things about this company!!

I have been using TSR for all my car repairs for about a year. I'm very impressed and pleased with the professionalism shown in all aspects of their program, from the initial intake and estimate until the final billing they work with me all the way and are on top of what they are doing. I also like the clean car they give back inside and out.

I really appreciate how much TSR communicates with customers. Teaching about customers about cars, people with new cars. I recently bought my first car, didn't know anything about it other than it needed work. Rachel and Roland took time out of their day to explain to me what is what, why it's like that, how it works and how do fix it. I really needed that and loved every minute of it. The following up with emails, pictures, videos and the phone calls to talk about what the real issues were. Helped me understand. Plus the pricing was great, at first I was a little caught off guard but to me it made sense after explanation and realization of what is what, how much and follow up.

TSR has always done an amazing job on our vehicle. They communicate clearly on what will be done, what needs to be done and how much it may cost. They have always responded to our questions and comments in a very professional and timely manner. I have appreciated the straightforward and direct answers I receive, even when they don't know. This is perhaps the most important to me. I feel as I am getting honest and fair service from a company with integrity and that prides itself on building customer trust and healthy positive relationships, not telling me just what I want to hear. They make a point of finding the correct answer for my question and problems.The vehicle they service is our only vehicle and they have gone above and beyond in accommodating our young family and our transportation needs. If you are looking for honest, trustworthy work that is purpose driven, I would highly recommend TSR and its amazing crew of professional employees.

Nome got lucky the day Rolland Trowbridge sailed into town. I don't think anyone anywhere gets better vehicle maintenance and repair service than what we get from TSR. There may be shops out there that can fix your car, but do they also pick up the vehicle for service and drop it off when complete? Detail the car every time? Offer a loaner if you need wheels while your car is in the ER? Finally figure out and fix that problem that other mechanics could not? I admit to expressing sticker shock when work needs to be done (I think they're used to that from me by now HA!), but this is the price of operating a vehicle in a remote location like Nome. TSR is committed to keeping my 20-year-old vehicle up and running. This ultimately saves me money, and also delays the addition of yet another trashed and discarded vehicle to the Nome landscape. TSR: Doing good things!

TSR has a friendly team, and their response rate is fast. They also pick up your vehicle for you and drop it off. The inspections are very in-detail and a lot of the times find stuff the dealership didn't find if you buy used/pre-owned like me. I appreciate them, the cost is worth the reliability for your vehicle in the long-run.They also have a great website, an APP, and very user-friendly up to date technology which I appreciate.

I had several problems that ended up causing a crank no start situation. TSR conducted a full diagnostic and testing to properly identify the issues with my truck. Top-of-the-line service. Five stars!...And continues to go above and beyond to provide top-quality service! (June 10th, 2019)...Saving me time AND money I took my car in for an oil change and as a courtesy TSR checked all of the fluids, fittings, and fixtures they saw that a protective boot had come loose from a part of the suspension that I never look at. Only a few dollars to fix it NOW, as compared to the $1000s it would have cost if I d kept driving until the Nome grit tore it up from the inside. Thank you TSR!!! (November 8th, 2019.)...Fighting the cold with expert service. My SUV froze up at -23F; TSR came and picked it up, thawed it out, diagnosed the problem, FIXED the problem, and gave simple recommendations on how to keep things running smoothly. Five stars! (February 7th, 2020.)...Working with my bizarre schedule to keep me rolling! I drove over a nail just before I had to fly to a village for a three-day work trip. No time to get it fixed; but also, no problem! While I was away, TSR picked up my car from the airport, fixed the tire, vacuumed the interior as a courtesy, and had my repaired & cleaned vehicle waiting for me in the airport parking lot when I got back. I cannot say enough good things about this company. I'm proud to say that I am a new customer of Trinity Sails and Service.Not only was the job done to my expectations, the owners have gone above and beyond to make sure the customer is satisfied by not only doing an excellent job, but making the customer aware of future service that will need to be done to ensure the longevity of your investment.I've got to say that I also appreciate the fact that all of the service details including access to future service is available on their online website as well as being able to access a copy of the invoices.Given all of the above I believe other automotive service shops should take their cue from TSR and further reinvest their standards, not only in the field but in Customer Service as well. We are so pleased with the quick and professional service TSR did with our truck. TSR picked up and dropped off the vehicle, kept in contact with us for every decision and costs, and diagnosed/ fixed the problem in a timely manner. I feel like I have a brand new truck and will continue to trust TSR with our vehicle . WE highly recommend them for both maintenance and diagnostic services. Thank you again TSR!!

Best Automotive repair or oil change in town by FAR!! I've had my Toyota truck for almost 2 years now and this was my 4th oil change. I first contacted TSR about the Toyota recalls, they came to my work picked up the truck inspected it EVEN CLEANED it inside-out, and they ordered the recalled part and a month later scheduled me to have it replaced. They just replaced the recalled part and had them do the oil change and fluids as well. and AGAIN they cleaned the truck inside-out, and did all the work for oil change and recalled part. And again they picked up the truck from my work and dropped it back off when they were done! I would never take my truck anywhere else!!!!

At first I thought wow very professional and lenient. My first car I took here. After some miscommunication that got clarified pretty quick, I'm rather satisfied.Rolland is the man. He will reach out to you if something is wrong or if your not satisfied. Let you know in detail. I am always satisfied with the excellent service you provide. Before anything is ever done to my vehicle you give me a very thorough report on what's wrong and your recommendations for proper repair along with what it's going to cost. I am always satisfied. The vehicle comes back to me having been detailed and that's simply a service that goes above and beyond.

TSR far exceeded any of my expectations. My only set of keys to my Jeep were lost before I could make a copy. This turned out to be extremely unfortunate because I was planning on leaving in four days. I was worried my vehicle would be towed before I can have new keys sent to me after I returned.Rolland Throwbridge the proprietor of TSR Gold Streaked my replacement set of keys to Nome and programmed the night before I was leaving. He than went back to shop at 11pm to hand me my keys so I may retrieve my vehicle before leaving on my vacation. If that was not enough, TSR cleaned the interior of my Jeep free of charge.I will use TSR again if needed.

I would recommend TSR to anyone needing car repairs. Great customer service and thorough. I did not feel pressured into getting unnecessary car repairs. They are very professional in letting you know what needs done right away and what can be put off.

I am in the process of trying to obtain and get my drivers license reinstated, because of previous DUI in summer of 2020 here in Nome. I went to my scheduled appt yesterday at the Nome DMV office and was greeted by staff member Alfred Burgo who seemed helpful and friendly at first. We discussed documents needed to start the reinstatement process, but i was a little confused with the necessary proof of sr22 insurance needed, as well as the mentioned "current within 30 days." I am not sure what lead Al to make the comment he made against me: "well you shouldn't have gotten yourself in trouble in the first place, or you shouldn't have put yourself in this situation in the first place." Maybe he made the comment because he can see i was a little confused idk. It is my impression that he possibly made the unnecessary comment because his intention was to make me feel guilty about my background and the previous DUI, and to also make me think he has all the authority and obligation to be there to help me. I did not appreciate the comment and i replied back, "Why are we talking about the past, let's focus on the present, and the future, there is no reason to bring up my past, i've already held myself accountable, let's move forward." Alfred Burgo also stated that he doesn't want to waste anybody's time, and also said, "come on now, don't waste my time or your time." I don't understand wasting anybody's time either. Using those words as well, can be very misleading and unprofessional and rude. Soon after the wasting time comment, Al said, "I'm giving you something to do, i'm here to help you." What does that mean, like he is obligated to be there, and like he has authority. It is my understanding that the Nome DMV office is in business partnership with Trinity Sails & Repair and the owner of the building is Rolland Trowbridge. During that conversation between DMV staff member Alfred Burgo and I, apparently Rolland had received two phone calls from his staff members who overheard the conversation and told Rolland that I am an unruly customer, when in fact it is clear I was just trying to stand up for myself. When Rolland came to the lobby and approached me, he made this comment, "Michelle, we've gone through this before, remember what happened between us how many months ago." The business that Rolland and I have previously has nothing to do with this DMV visit. It was unfair and unreasonable for Rolland to approach me like that. I felt like he should've asked first hand, "is there anything i can do to help you," Rolland did not offer to help resolve anything, nor did he address what Alfred Burgo had said to me about my background. I called Rolland today to ask if he had a few minutes to discuss the incident yesterday, and he agreed to talk. I started the conversation with, "why did you approach me the way you did?" Rolland then became offended and highly disappointed that I brought it up, but that is exactly why I called him. I also mentioned the fact that I did not appreciate the comment made by DMV staff member Alfred Burgo. Instead of addressing the comment, Rolland accused me of being this incredibly difficult customer, and he said my personality doesn't allow me to believe I am fair. Rolland also brought up bhs services or something and counseling, and having this unruly personality. Rolland also threatened to call the police and also said to never come back to the building, and he doesn't want to help me with services anymore, which i am okay with. Rolland's main focus was to get me to understand that Alfred Burgo is only there to help me, I appreciate that. It isn't any help when someone brings up your background and your past. I have moved far from the past and am just trying to start the reinstatement process. I can hear and I can detect that Rolland was furious with the fact that I wouldn't allow Alfred Burgo's comment slide. I feel like Rolland is being unreasonable, unfair, unprofessional. Have used TSR for many years. Totally satisfied with all wrk prefomed. Service is above and beyond average auto repair shop. They give a total health chk of your vehicle on every visit. Accurate and knowledgeable.Highly reccomended.

They don't focus on the repairs you go in for. then they start adding many repairs needed,also I don't believe they fixed much of anything after 10,000.00 dollars later my car needed a lot of work, with in 1 month I couldn't drive it.

I left for Anchorage for a few days and my truck would not start. TSR got the truck, diagnosed it and had it completed in less than 2 days. The truck starts right up now.Services: Electrical, BatteryServices: Electrical, Battery

My car was stuck in a whiteout blizzard. TSR pulled me out regardless of the weather. They took it to their garage checked it for safety and returned it to me! I can't thank them enough!!!
