If I had an option to put 10 stars I would! Have known the owner since almost 7+ years while stationed on wainwright. Left wainwright to go to Georgia and came back to alaska to visit. Needed service on my 4runner and he took meticulous care of it and got me out quick! attention to detail is amazing! Mr James Is top notch. wouldn't recommend any other shop! If you need any vehicle service this is the place to go!

I took a truck there to have the heater and air conditioning issue fixed. We had a brief conversation about me selling it and he expressed interest. After it being there four months I discovered the owner was using the vehicle for a daily driver hauling fuel oil in it. The inside had been wrecked with oil stains as well. Never take anything to this place.

These guys are AMAZING! We LOVE them. They are honest, truthful, and efficient. It takes a while to get an appointment with them, but when they do get you in they get it done quick and right. I can't stress how much we love them. We took our car to Gabe's and he kept it for a week without updating us on what was wrong. When he finally got to us, he said we needed all new brakes. We decided to have Right Choice double check it. They got us in and that same day said that our brakes were fine! They told us why it made that sound and then cleaned them for us. We walked away with a much cheaper bill. We have stayed with them since then and they have always done good by us. Trustworthy is one of the most important traits I look for in car repair, especially up here in Fairbanks. They win first place in my book!!

My friend has a car there and it has been there for 3 weeks over a simple starter problem. He says he will fix it but hasnt and wont return any calls. I searched the business with siri and it say s permanently closed. I moved to Fairbanks a year and a half ago. I had a terrible experience at a different garage in town last year, and so I decided to try this place.I use my car for work as a delivery driver, and they were very accommodating about scheduling an appointment during my off days. A few hours after dropping it off, they called me with a precise list of what the issues were, along with an estimate. They also offered to break down the estimate item by item in case I only wanted some of the work done.The repairs were all done well before I needed the car back. When I went to pick it up, I was told that they relized the car needed an additional minor repair, but they did not charge me for it since they had already given me an estimate. Also all of the repairs came with a 2 year warranty. Everything seems to be running smoothly, I'll definitely go back if I need repairs in the future. Very personable and professional.

If you need a fast, customer friendly and honest car repair experience then this is the place to go. This repair shop was the best experience I have ever had. The customer service is over the top and you get more than what you expect. I took my Chevy truck in to have some taillight work done, after battling trying to figure out what the issue was. Couple of hours later the service tech called me and explained what the problem was before continuing on with the repair. Quoted me a reasonable price, that wasn't gouged and actually broke down the charges over the phone. Do not pass this place up if you really need service work done. Awesome Awesome AWESOME experienece!

Right Choice Automotive should be known for their honesty and dependability. I was stranded in Fairbanks with what I believed to be a frozen thermostat, and needed to get back to Anchorage for work. On very short notice they diagnosed my truck and discovered a blown headgasket and were still able to prioritize my vehicle and make sure I made it in to work on time. They estimated $1600 for the repair up front, and the final bill came out 40 dollars less. They didn't try to get more out of me than was asked for, or coerce me into more complicated and expensive maintenance than necessary, and even fixed a few minor issues they discovered during the repair free of charge. They were completely honest about the work that needed to be done and the time that would be required to do so. If I lived in Fairbanks, they would be my go-to mechanic because of their competence, honesty, and integrity.

James and his crew are great! I love going to get help and learn more about my car with James. He is very knowledgeable, and he is fair about his prices. I trust James in his capabilities to fix my car. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs mechanical help.

I've brought my vehicle to these guys twice and both times, they have treated me right and gave me VERY fair pricing on repairs. They have NEVER tried to do unnecessary repairs, and always gave me a heads upif there may other systems involved with my current issue. They are the best car doctors in Fairbanks.

I recently bought a truck; I called Right Choice to see if they would look it over because I had a check engine light come on and I wanted to get the oil changed. They diligently inspected the truck and made a list of all the repairs and the maintenance that they recommend. We were traveling through Fairbanks on our way to the Arctic Circle when our clutch burned out. (We can talk about the advisability of trying to get to the Arctic Circle with an old car with a very worn clutch some other time. :)Anyway, we called around a bit and couldn't find anyone open on Saturday until we found Right Choice. Now, in this situation, MOST mechanics would sense the desperation of the situation and double their prices. Not only did Right Choice charge us LESS than what other shops in the area would have charged local folks, they prioritized the job and got it done THAT DAY so that we could still finish out our trip.On top of THAT, the personally drove us to our hotel and picked us up afterwards so that we didn't have to call a cab. The folks at Right Choice are *genuinely* nice people, who work hard and charge a fair rate for the job at hand.We were so pleased, that we're planning on taking the car BACK to Fairbanks (we live in Anchorage) for future work, just because we feel like we can trust them to tell us the truth about what's wrong and what needs to be fixed.I can not recommend Right Choice Automotive highly enough. Nice folks, fast and efficient, and priced fairly, no matter who you are! Hands down the best auto-repair experience OF MY LIFE.

James & the crew have cared for my 02 tundra for all it's needs for the past 4 years, and I've never had a bad experience! Sometimes hard to get an appt but that's cause they don't overbook- they have it done when they'll say they're gonna! James has walked me thru my truck issues and shows me how to do simple repairs. The whole team there is great!

I didn't even get my car in to the shop because the front desk/receptionist was so rude and unknowledgable. Told me that the work I needed done was not possible (resurfacing a brake rotor). Quoted me multiple prices throughout the 5 minute call (for a service she swears is impossible). She was generally unresponsive and unhelpful throughout the call. Can't say anything about the service this shop might do, but their (prospective) customer support is repulsive.

I personally won't take my car anywhere else in Fairbanks, superior service and pricing. My brake lines burst with less than two days left before I deployed, everywhere else in town would take more than 48 hours to flip the car. Right Choice was busy too but they prioritized my car and had it repaired in a little over a day, enough time for me to get it put into storage. When I got back from deployment my car wouldn't start (go figure) even with it being jumped. They stayed open after hours so the tow truck could drop it off and had it fixed the next day.

We got a flat tire on the way back to Anchorage from Livengood. We were so lucky to find Right Choice. They fixed our flat tire immediately when they knew we have to drive back to Anchorage to catch a evening flight. They are nice and professional. We really appreciate their in time help. This shop has taken care of all of my vehicles for years. Right Choice is the only business I trust to work on my vehicles. I wouldn't go to another mechanic if someone payed me to. In Fairbanks your vehicle is your lifeline and this is the only shop I can say I would trust my life to.

A great place to get your vehicle repaired. Very welcoming, nice people here that want to actually fix your vehicle with no hidden fees or fake fixes.I was having some electrical problems with my jeep, so I left it there so they could diagnose the problem. They found the problem and fixed it for me, while giving me some insightful info about the problems and ways to prevent them from happening.Thank you Right Choice Automotive Repair!Your loyal customer,BrandonP.S. This was one of the worst repair experiences of my life. I wish I could rate them a "zero".Good news:Mechanic and part owner James is knowledgable and reasonable to work with.That's the end of the good news.Bad news:1. Front desk person (part owner?) Carol is arguementative and vindictive.2. Front desk person Carole tried repeatedly to get me to do extra work not related to the reason for bringing/leaving the car in the first place.3. Shop did not stand behind its work.4. They kept my car 16 days.5. Finally, their repair was so poor that it placed my life and the lives of my family at immediate direct risk, directly attributeable to their shoddy workmanship. Not an overstatement.James had told me that if there were any problems with the repair, to bring the car back if necessary.Going down the road on the way home I immediately noticed warning lights on the dash that had never been there before.I pulled over, and using my mobile phone called the shop. Carole answered. I asked to speak with James because a problem had developed even before I had gotten it home.Carole informed me that their business with me was done, and I would not be allowed to speak to James. She told me never to call again. I think she looked at me as a difficult customer, because I would not agree to the superfluous work she kept trying to sell me, and I had been in contact with the shop all 16 days trying to see why the repairs were taking so long. On at least one occasion, she had called to say it was finished, but when I arrived, she couldn't start it. Finally with a jump she got it started and it ran so rough I was afraid it would stall right there in their lot. So I insisted they keep it and fix it right.On the phone, I replied that if she wouldn't put me through to James, it would force me to drive all the way back to speak to him in person.She told me I was not to come onto the property, and if I did, she would call the police to remove me.Not knowing what else to do, I drove home. The next day, with my two children aged 2 and 3, and my wife in the car, I was driving and we all noticed the smell of gasoline. I pulled over and checked, and fuel was splashing onto the road from underneath the vehicle.I had the car towed to a different mechanic, who discovered that Right Choice Auto had FAILED TO RECONNECT THE RETURN FUEL LINE!!!!Raw fuel was spewing all over the hot manifold!!!!It was a MIRACLE that the fuel didn't ignite, and the car explode and burn with my family in it. A miracle.They may deny this, but I have photos of the disconnected fuel line, and 2 witnesses from that shop who observed the mistake Right Choice Auto made on my vehicle. Their guess was that someone "finger-tightened" the nut instead of properly putting a wrench to it.Regardless, as you can see, it very well could have and probably should have lit the car on fire.The very worst service I have ever had. I'm lucky their incompetence didn't kill me and my children.

I am blown away by their costumer service and all the support they've given so far.I went to another automotive shop before Right Choice and they scammed me hardcore. I ended up doing research and came across R.C, after calling and explaining my situation they not only had the lowest price in ALL OF FAIRBANKS for Fuel Pump replacement, but they also worked the fastest. They were concerned for me and my vehicle, not just my wallet.I am blown away by their kindness, after an Oil Change and Fuel Pump replacement I'm still spending under 600 dollars. Versus 900 JUST for F.P replacement at my former place.I cannot even express my amount of gratitude and happiness at this point in time. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.BEST AUTOMOTIVE SHOP IN FAIRBANKS, AK. END OF STORY.

Provided them with my daughter's SUV (2002 Ford Explorer) and a new transmission on June 19th and still do not have the vehicle back!!! Furthermore no comment on when we will get it. My daughter calls them weekly. I have now called and left a message. No bets that they will call me back. :( So frustrating. Where do I go from here?Several months I have found out there have been personal reasons why the work hasn't been done. Although not happy with the delay hopefully we will have the vehicle back soon as winter is approaching (Sep 14th).

A locally-owned family operated business is always a plus. Honest, dependable, and high level of quality work are their hallmarks. Its always our first choice. The icing on the cake is the Fantastic customer service.

Paid 100 for new vehicle inspection. The analysis was good but when I went to pick up my car the ended up loosing the key. Took about 10 minutes but they found it

The staff here are very kind, honest and above all great at what they do. As a traveler passing through who had absolutely no clue where to go, this was suggested to me and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. I wish there were more people like them in every town!
