Metropolitan Garage is a absolute friendly, professional and pleasure to work with for any vehicle need. They listen and they fairly give solid advice. My vehicle was seen easily and the repair was straightforward and quick turnaround to get the vehicle back. I am always pleased with the service and friendly helpful staff. Ive seen them for many years with my Toyota Camry and now my Subaru Forester. They specialize in repairing these and are very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend them to anyone with car repairs and tune ups needed. We are fortunate to have this team in Alaska!

Summary: fast, quality, friendly service with detailed reporting of issues and repairs (including pictures). No other place in town even comes close! Highly recommended for not really a car person people because of transparency and excellent communication.Brake sensor was severely damaged and car was dangerous to drive on icy roads, essentially leaving me without a vehicle. Called other places around town and they couldn t get me in for weeks, some over a month. Called Metro, who I had used once before, and they got me in just after the weekend.Reasonable prices, especially considering the quality of work and customer service you receive. They send a detailed report and include pictures of the issues so you can see for yourself. (Every auto company should do this!) They always check in if they have to do something in addition to what you brought the car in for, and their recommendations always seem reasonable and necessary. No surprise charges and I don t feel like I m being taken advantage of. If you don t understand something, they take the time to explain it in a way you can understand and why it s necessary instead of throwing a bunch of technical terms at you and making a huge deal out of every little thing.A bit disappointed that they don t offer price matching for parts, but I think this unfortunately is becoming an industry standard so I don t think it should count against them.

I had been using them from 2016-2018. They kept my Subaru outback in a very good shape. I had been away for 5 years, and just returned to Fairbanks. I was looking for a used car, and saw a car at a used car dealership. They told me the car was in great condition. But I decided to have them check it for me. They found some major issues which will cost me $7000 in the near future. Phee! I am glad that I had them checked it out for me...

Best shop experience I ve ever had, and I ve lived in Fairbanks my whole life. Incredibly efficient, fast, professional, and polite. Prices were reasonable too, considering the work needed for my car. They kept me in the loop, and were very transparent about the work that was needed on my car, versus items that weren t necessary to work on. Highly recommend.

Had my power steering replaced last year from them. Was good almost all year. It went out again for whatever reason. I called them and they got me in quickly and it was replaced under warranty. Super friendly and informative staff. Highly recommended!

Wonderful service. Always thorough and complete, I have depended on them to take care of my Subaru vehicles since I bought my first one in 2008. Very detailed inspection reports with pictures and advice on what needs to be done now and what can be done later. It is a pleasure doing business with them.

metro is awesome. everyone is so knowledgeable, competent, helpful, and thoughtful. i just had a lot of work done on my truck and they let me be part of every decision and were very transparent about what needed to be done, what could wait, and what everything would cost. they just completely and totally rock.

Super professional. If you have trouble trusting other mechanics, you can definitely trust Metro! These guys exceeded my expectations and were very friendly the whole way through. I highly recommend bringing your car here if you need a service.

Metro is an excellent garage, especially for older Subarus. They give thorough explanations of your car's condition and they come up with a sensible repair plan taking into account the age of your car and your budget.

This was my first experience with Metropolitan Garage. They were professional and courteous. They had to order the part needed because there wasn t one locally. They were able to get my car back to me 2 days earlier than expected for the exact price I was quoted. Each employee that I spoke with over the phone, via email and in person was informative and helpful. Great customer service. Top notch shop!

My window would not roll up and it was snowing out. Metro got me in right away and was able to get the window temporarily back in place. New part on the way. They were so caring and understanding. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I have been using Metropolitan Garage for over decade and was a loyal customer during that time. Last year I began to take my Subaru to a different shop in town because they had performed successful work on my old Volvo at fair price. Unfortunately, they were not to the same quality control standards as Metro lesson learned. You might have to be patient for an appointment, you might pay more, but in the end you can be assured the work that Metro does will be done honestly and correctly.

Genuinely amazing service, with great prices, and an accommodating schedule. Unlike other garages in town, possibly named Simard's, they will actually return your calls and treat you well even if you are a new customer or don't come by often.

Metro's customer service and communication is on point. They actually listen and take detailed notes about weird problems, and ask the right questions.They've always been straightforward with me about urgent vs non-urgent repairs, and I've never felt upsell pressure. Local treasure of a repair shop.

Thank you to all at Metro for once again taking good, honest care of my car. I never have to second guess you, your excellent work and honesty keep me coming back!Incidentally while I was in your office waiting for my car (by the way you are always on schedule and done when you say you will be), a customer came in and announced that you had fixed his problem and that nobody else in town had be able to figure it out for a long time!!! I love this place! They let you know exactly what is important to repair and what will need attention in the future. The evaluation of vehicle is very thorough. Awesome service! I loved the text message updates with pictures and explanations on their findings for my car. I also spoke to the service advisor and he took the time to explain to me what he had done to fix the problem and what to watch out for in the future. 10/10 would recommend. The place is booked out though, so the wait time is long to get in. That s probably the only thing that wasn t so great, but given how good their service is, the wait time was well worth it.

What a kind and welcoming place. Very communicative with the services requested/needed, their online portal allows you to see what they're working on with pictures of your car (great for visual learners). They also winterized my car and made the wiring so clean, you can barely tell the additions are there. They did it again - impressed me with their honesty and great service. They repaired our AC on our Subaru. After a few weeks, it stopped working again. They took it back in right away. A seal they repaired failed, so they redid the work free of charge. It occurs to me that unscrupulous repair places could lie and say some other part had failed and have charged us, but these guys are super honest. Awesome place.

Metro did their usual thorough and professional work. They did an ATF drain and refill with filter replacement. They also did the differential fluid. I am very happy with their service!

The pinion seal was changed but the area that was leaking wasn t cleaned after the new seal was installed. So it looks like it is still leaking. The transfer case still looks stained from the leaking oil and the pinion looks wet. The area should have been cleaned off with a solvent sprayer or something similar.Service: Vehicle InspectionService: Vehicle Inspection

Easy to schedule appointments and easy to work with. Very communicative staff and a thorough report on everything they did and everything they recommend to get done in the future, complete with pictures of things that are in need of repair.
