I've had a couple ofnvehicles worked on at Fairbanks Imports. They do fantastic work!I recently bought a '20 Highlander from Affordable. They were booked pretty far out on work, but managed to squeeze it in between their other customers fairly quickly.I got my car back yesterday, and it's working perfectly. Thank you Fairbanks Imports for taking care of me! And thank you to Affordable for footing the bill!

Hands down the best non-dealer shop in Interior Alaska. Quick scheduling, no b.s., ever. Fair, honest pricing, and most importantly, quality work. Other shops in Fairbanks, take note. FIS is the Gold Standard.

This place doesnt know how to fix hardly anything properly. I have taken more than one vehicle in. They jacked up my first by not connecting the air intake tube back up, not tightening my battery terminals (later causing me to loose my alternator because of it), and then putting the wrong coolant in my engine for what it required. On my second vehicle they replaced power steering lines, which after they worked on left my vehicle having a whining noise now from power steering. Then took the same car in for an issue most likely related to transmission creating a grinding type noise an clunking when slowing to a stop(their fix was to bend my brake backing plate out) , tech took the car out twice an said they couldn t find an issue so I had to go in and drive it to check if they fixed the problem which I knew they had not off the repair they said they made. As if this isn t enough I have known others who brought items in an seem to have to bring them back time an time again to attempt to repairServices: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine diagnostic, Wheel alignment, Transmission repair, Brakes

Took them over a month to even look at my car. When they finally looked at it they said they d fix the problem and said it would take two weeks. They now keep pushing the date back after saying the car would be done long before. It s now been nearly three months without a car. They are slow and don t seem to work at a decent pace. Highly don t recommend. Go somewhere else.Edit for the comment: I think you should know whose car you are taking 3 months to fix. We have been without a car for 3 months. Having to find a ride whenever we can to get to work. The name on my account isn t recognized because I m posting for someone else. Do better. You wouldn t get a bad review unless you deserved it.

Had a new to me car winterized there last February. No issues with the winterization but whoever did it unplugged the sensor for my adaptive cruise control and front end assist. They started the car before reconnecting it and so now I have neither. To get it fixed, I have to take it to the dealer in Anchorage. Tried to do that and they say it will cost me $600 + and it's not covered under the warranty. This is a cost I cannot afford. Their mechanics should know that they need to reconnect everything before starting the vehicle after performing a service. Kind of scared to take it there again if I need service. Not having these functions is really going to hurt my resale value, if I ever need to sell it.

I had my BMW serviced there and they found my oil drain plug was held together by loctite glue. They were able to repair the threading of the oil pan drain plug and installed a new drain plug. Very happy with the service.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

Absolutely awful. My mother brought her car here and has always had decent experiences with them until now. They tried to over charge her for a 45 min repair then they also told her that her coat was to heavy and that why the seatbelt sensor was going off but when we looked the seatbelt sensor was halfway unplugged under the seat. They also look at her brakes but failed to fully put back the brake line or failed to notice that it wasn t connected all the way causing it to leak on her drive home that no only extremely negligent but also could have cost someone there life. I do not recommend anyone bring there car here they are not knowledgeable like they used to be and over charge by an extreme amount.

As a proud owner of a German car in Fairbanks, I find it extremely hard to have shops preform services on my vehicle. I am extremely protective and particular about my car, and the sensitive and complex nature of European cars makes me nervous about having local shops work on it. Hence I end up doing most of the routine maintenance on it myself. However, the DSG transmission fluid change my Volkswagen needed sounded like a messy and specialized tool intensive job that I couldn t stomach to do myself. Having my transmission serviced was my first experience at Fairbanks Imports and they provided me with excellent service. Shawn at the front desk took great care of me, and the work on my vehicle was completed in a timely and professional manner. Thanks for a great first experience!Service: Transmission repair

STAY AWAY!! My mom brought her car in here to get her brake pads changed, I usually would ve done it myself but was not in town. The squealer is already going off after she only put 4-5 thousand miles on her car, and they re supposed to last to around 30-50 thousand. Guaranteed they probably used old brake pads on her car from another car that came into the shop before. They also managed to use wrong gap size spark plugs on a friends of mines car. Causing misfires. Take your car anywhere else! Most shops can work on imports for almost any task.

I brought my Kia Sorento in to have my passenger side mirror replaced. They also took a look at my back up camera as it had sustained damage following a windshield replacement. Although they do not fix/replace cameras, they called around for me and helped me find someone in the local area who could take care of it. They really went above and beyond to help us. They were very prompt in regards to replacing our mirror as well. Very professional caring. Would highly recommend them!!Service: Body & Trim

Pretty good place, my car works like it should. They have done a winterization on Acura TL 3.2 and got to say good job will come back. A little pricey and when I went to pick up my car they left it out in the snow without it plugged in. That is why I give 4 stars.

An odd place, but the only shop in town that can do in-depth repairs and maintenance on most imports. We had to take in our car multiple times about the air compressor because the first time they didn't seal it properly, but the follow through was free and relatively painless. They got the job done, but it took some prodding.Additionally, on my 40 point inspection, they gave me the bare minimum for coolant (enough to disrupt the check engine light) but, again, corrected their mistake for free when I came back in.

Good service so far. They always treat you right.Winterizing not that good of experience, coolant leeks and I have to go twice now. But they are always nice on the phone and even tho they are full right now, it seems they make an effort to squeeze you in.Let's see the outcome.Staff super friendly.

They ve had my car longer than I have. It s been in there 5 times and one of the times the check engine light came on before I got to the light. Highly overcharge and they STILL haven t fixed the issue

Took my car to them for a winterization a day and half later that's when I got my car back. Without the full winterization done that I asked about plus they over charge me and my car was leaking coolant. Plus the service manager was a ass when I asked about the leak. Do not go to place sure they the worst in Fairbanks.

I called them and asked them to do a transmission flush and a 60k mile inspection, they quoted me $275. When I brought my car to them they called me at home telling me I didn't need the transmission flush until 100k miles, cool with me cause it will be cheaper. When I went to pick up the car my total bill was $336, they did less work but charged me more than they quoted, WTF. They changed my oil and replaced an air filter did the 60k mile inspection, total parts was around $66 and the total cost of labor was about $270. Needless to say I was NOT pleased and I will NEVER go back to them again!

Had my water pump gasket and water pump housing replaced during the beginning of last winter now that we are into summer months and are seeing warmer temperatures my car will not stop overheating I had it checked they did not properly reconnect my radiator in place and the fan motor no longer has wires to it because they got pulled out from hanging by the strengths of the wires and the hoses holding my radiator up this place had my car for 6 weeks to get this done and they couldn't double check their own work or tell me that there was a problem with the brackets, they will not provide an inspection with a service and I mean any service they do poor owrk they are a terrible shop if you have an import go somewhere else even a domestic vehicle dealership shop will do a better job than these people

Incredibly slow, terrible customer service, and they way overcharge for their repairs. I had to call multiple times to get a response from them about my car and they took 2 months to repair it. I will not be returning.
