Outstanding customer service! We took our truck in to the Old Seward location to just get an oil change and mentioned that the check engine light was on. When we picked up the truck, they said it was a very simple and quick fix that they went ahead and did for us. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful, and we felt welcome here! Highly recommend taking your vehicle here!

I typically do not post reviews, but I have to review Midas on Old Seward in Anchorage. I called and spoke with Steve and explained the problem my car was having. I am a single, working mother and needed my car working properly, quickly. He was so kind and able to take my car in and fix the problem that day. I am so glad I called that particular Midas and will always call them first in the future!!!

Everything I have called to get prices on stuff it's always 2x higher than everywhere else. Also, my dad took his car here last wednesday to get oil change during 59.99 special was charge 235.00 for an oil change and a light bulb. I feel like they take advantage of our great Alaskan people. Sad thing is someone I know referred me there because they know manager. I feel upset for my dad.

I needed a new battery for my car. It's a hybrid so there's a little bit of a difference in process but it's not that hard. I took it in and was told the battery plus labor was over $600. I'm not a car person but that was an immediate red flag. I asked for clarification and was told it was about 80 for labor and the rest was battery. I asked him to double check he was looking at the correct battery. I don't really think he did because having looked around before I knew it should be closer to 150/200 and that even with a standard mark up that was way too much. I ended up leaving and buying a battery on my own and paying someone to install it. Came out to $252.So, either they are WAY overcharging (maybe but more than twice the price of another seller seems absurd) or they're incompetent at looking up the price of parts. Either way, never going back there.

Had a power steering hose replaced on our 2010 f150. We were quoted $198 for the job before they started the work so we went ahead and approved the work. Went to pick it up the following Monday and they told me the total was $998. Told him that it was not what we were quoted and he just told us that he doesn't know who quoted us that so we told him that it was Sheldon who had quoted us that. He had no response to it. We will not be using midas ever again. They were dishonest and lied to us about the prices.

They serviced my car. Got all of my service lights off. They let me know what I needed and how much it would cost in total before working on it I was very pleased with the service I received

The service was great! and the manager was awesome at explaining the current state of my vehicle. Very friendly & fast service! Gave me a quote for a Complete Tune Up and Oil Change for $2,700. The Complete Tune Up was to change coils and ignitor so I asked them to give me just a regular Tune Up and Oil Change they told me they cannot do the regular Tune Up because a Complete Tune Up was needed and if anything goes wrong because they went ahead and gave me the regular Tune Up they can t be held liable because they need to change the coils and ignitor. So I then asked for the paper quote that shows the recommended work and price break down and they said it erased. Charged me $176 diagnostic fee to try and swindle me.

If you are thinking of having repairs done at Midas on old Seward Highway, plan for a LONG wait. I made an appointment for 9:30 AM, left my vehicle and no word back until I returned at 1:00 PM to ask what was happening. Oh you are next I was told. They told me the appointment time has no meaning. it s just a way to make scheduling for the day. I do not recommend using this business. 3:30 PM and I am still waiting.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto brake repair, Brakes

They're a first come, first served sort of business that doesn't do appointments. The upside is that they can sometimes do things right away (especially if you arrive right at opening time). However the customer service and quality of work is suspect. I'd recommend having a more dedicated garage do major work and only come here for things like oil or tire changes- or vehicle inspections, which is what I did.

Online shows you can set an appointment but that is not correct. Don t worry about appointments, they say over the phone first come first serve. At least update site to say first come first serve. Be honest in advertising.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Absolutely terrible place. I went to get an alignment service done here since they said they would be able to today, and left my car there. After a little bit they called me and said that the newly installed car parts were loose, and that they would have to tighten it. No problem, I let them do that and after a little bit they call me again and said that they cannot perform the alignment for my car due to a "leak" and an "old car part" not letting them. I came to pick my car up and they said they would still charge me $200 for the tightening. They also would not give my keys back until I paid for it. I overheard another person complaining with the mechanic about how they were trying to charge her around $500 for simple repairs like replacing a wire or two that she didn't need. I then took my car to the mechanic whom I've known for 15+ years who couldn't do the alignment due to booking, but said he would be able to see why this terrible company charged me $200. He checked the work done and showed me that everything that he had done on the car was perfectly fine, and that Midas was lying. There is proof as the mechanic I go to generally has markings that he leaves on the work he's done as proof He then called up this disgusting place and spoke with a person named Steve about the service they did to my car. He directly asked him what was wrong with my car that caused them to charge me $200, and all the guy responded with was: "I don't have to explain anything to you, f**k you", and then he hung up the phone on my mechanic. NEVER GO HERE! This place is just a big scam to make money. I will be sure to tell anyone I know to avoid this place, and for them to leave their honest opinions here like I did. DO NOT GAMBLE WITH YOUR BRAKES OR CAR HERE! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! THEY RE UNSAFE AND OVER PRICED! I paid 2424.98$ to get my brakes/rotors and calibers changed here may 7, 2021. I left with confidence in them. I paid $1168.98 in labor that wasn t even done right! I brought the car to a shop to get looked at to sell, and a caliber bolt was missing with a loose bolt! The safety hazard of this, and Midas resolution to this is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. They replied WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? on warranty! No refund on unfinished labor!! HOW ARE CUSTOMERS SUPPOSE TO KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM IF THEY DONT BRING IT TO ANOTHER SHOP?! Or a mechanic yourself? Horrible! All at my expense and safety!Services: Brakes, Oil change

Independently owned franchise trying to rob people of their money. Went for an oil change and they told me I needed to have my axles rebuilt. Knowing this was false, I declined. Came back for another oil change and they didn t mention anything about my axles, hmmm. If my axles were bad before, wouldn t they still be bad? This time, instead, they told me I had a broken motor mount. Again, I declined and took it to another shop and asked their opinion My motor mount was in perfect condition Also, during last visit I asked them to replace the windshield wipers. They charged me $156 I might die tomorrow, but I wasn t born yesterday! Was happy just getting basic oil changes here but now I won t even be going back for that.

They were amazing! I went in for an oil change. I mentioned a recent issues with a tire place nearby them in town. They fully educated me about my tires. The other place did me very wrong. My car was shaking terribly after tire change at other place. Anyway, they changed my oil and they must have done something because my car hardly shook after I left. They felt terribly about my situation and I have a feeling they did something to help but only paid for oil change. I saw staff James and Manager Steve and was blown away by their honesty, transparency and overall superior customer service!!! I'll never go anywhere else. What a RARE find!! I had a block heater installed the next day after my call for service. The technician did an excellent job. Their customer service was responsive, honest and followed up on their commitment to get the work completed by the end of the day. I highly recommend this shop. It wasn t a great experience. They worked on my car and I left with the check engine sign still on. I spoke to them about it and they wanted to charge another diagnostic fee. Later on, I brought my car in and they said I needed a whole new engine for about the same price as my car. I took it to another mechanic and it turned out that it wasn t even an engine problem. I tried giving this place a chance but it wasn t worth it..

I have to say this was some of the best customer service I have experienced in a long time. I needed a battery replaced, same day, within a certain timeframe because I needed to pick up my children from school. Midas on Old Seward got me right in and out within a couple of hours. Staff was also very friendly and caring. That makes a difference in people's lives. I stopped by and asked if they could look at my vehicle because it was stalling. They took it in for two days. Then they charged me 250$ for diagnostics and said that my alternator, battery and belt went bad. I got them all replaced which was an extra 700$ and my car is still stalling. I felt like it was a big waste of time and money I don t recommend coming to this place.
