Personally I have only ever had good experiences here. First of all, they DO NOT screw you over. Like, I genuinely trust that they aren't going to overcharge me or create issues. I've also only ever received lower quotes here compared to many other shops in town. It feels like somewhat of a family owned company who respect people's time and finances. I've had many car problems fixed here with my Altima and I've only ever once run into an issue with an installment, which they promptly took responsibility for and fixed it for 0 charge in labor or parts. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs pretty much any type of work done on their car.

This auto Shop is excellent! The owner and assistant manager, Fred and Josh, are always willing to help and give good service. Highly recommend for your mechanic needs!

Very happy with this auto shop. Fast service.Fred and his team traced a intermittent starting issue and fixed the problem in 1.5 hours. I will be working with them again.My dealership is running 3/4 weeks for appointments. They fit me in asap. I recommend you to try them.Service: Electrical repair

Very rude. I called and asked for their services and this guy literally told me I don t understand what you want find somebody else if you aren t made to be in customer service than why even answer the phone?

Had the worst experience with this place and my jeep. They attempted to help get a transmission for it. After putting one in, while driving, my whole front, driver side wheel just fell off. Of course they fixed it for free and gave me a couple of free oil change coupons, but I will not be taking any vehicle back to them.And it s under my dads name to whomever replied to my post.

I am not one to ever write a bad review but I was very disappointed in the service I got!I am new to Alaska and was just trying to find a good place to get my car fixed. I happened to call Alaskan auto and they could get me in right then and there. I was very pleased but then they said they needed to order a part that would take a few weeks to come in or I can pay extra and it will be in within a few days. So I decided to pay extra and get the part sooner. Well when I called they told me they couldn t get me in till a week out which was not what they told me before. I told them that was upsetting to hear because I paid extra for the part to come in and for them to fix it faster but that I understand and I am fine with it getting fixed the following Monday. Then I called them that Monday and told them that my car was getting towed to them and it should arrive soon. They told me that I did not have an appointment and that they were booked for that day. I then told them that I needed to get my car fixed today and that they told me it would be today so they really need to fix it since I have already paid extra and already waited a week later for them to fix it. So then they said they will try to fix my car today but they really don t know if that is possible. I was very upset since we just moved here and I needed my car to get to work but all I could do was hope for the best. But later that day they said my car is fixed and I could pick it up. So I did pick it up and they made rude comments to me which was not necessary!!!I am definitely not pleased with there service and will not be coming back or recommending them to anyone!

I will give this place a 2 only because:- They got me in quick- Appointment was made a week before getting serviced.Now for customer service and the actual service, if I could give this place a 0 I would.Asked if they can diagnosed my car fully without going to the dealer and they had the stuff to do it and they said yes.Long story short they took my vehicle in and then said you need to take it to the dealer to get diagnosed. And charged my insurance for money that the dealership should have just done the first time. Instead of them!And it s not the owner, but the worker was really snickety. And made things difficult by talking to him and asking for payment and if they can take a picture of the invoice for my insurance. Never again

The person I spoke with was Josh. Told him my issue and worry. He was able to diagnose my vehicle and an estimate of cost. They got my car in sooner than expected, cost was few hundred less then what they said and got it back in one day! My car is running smoothly. I will definitely go back again. I have brought 2 vehicles here and referred several others and they always do an amazing job. Kind and courteous. I never thought my dad's truck would ever run again. I cane in and had them look at my engine and they took it apart band gave me a quote that was too high for me. So I had it towed back to my house but when I open my hood and take apart my engine, it's all loose, transmission is not connected and just wasn't needed to be like that when though it was just a starter problem. I'm disapointedService: Engine repair

I have been taking my vehicles here for 10 years. Bernie and Fred have always been up front and friendly, along with their staff. Whether it's an oil change, tire change over or an issue with my vehicle, they take care of it at a fair price and give me all of the information I need. I would highly recommend them. They will be checking my vehicle for an upcoming cross country trip and I completely trust that my vehicle will be in great driving condition! Thanks Bernie & Fred!!!!

Talked to this guy on the phone, it didn't seem like he had his act together. Asked him for the price of a job and he didn't give me the price for the whole job only part of it. I had to ask more questions than necessary and couldn't seem to get a straight answer from him.

*CONSUMER BEWARE* I'm the type of person where if I get bad service, my order gets messed up or what have you I just take the high road and don't complain or write bad reviews. This place is the exception and people deserve to know what's going on here.We've all heard horror stories about crooked mechanics who cause problems to make more money off honest people who just need help fixing their cars, and Alaskan Auto Center LLC is absolutely a little shop of horrors.I brought my car here to get a oil change, as it was within walking distance to my work. When I picked it up and got it home, that next morning there was a big oil leak under my car, which never had that problem before I took it there. I checked the oil and they had vastly overfilled it which caused some sort of leak in a gasket or seal. I had a friend help me drain the excess oil and just chalked it up to a inexperienced employee or honest mistake. That car leaked oil from that day forward, though I just kept tabs on it and wasn't super concerned as it was a older car.I ended up getting a different car, and unfortunately took it here again to get a oil change and tire change over. A co-worker dropped me off on our break to pick it up, and while there a customer was arguing with the owner because he paid good money for a repair, and his problem had not been fixed like he was told it was. The owner was apathetic and eventually offered to take another look at it (I'm sure for more $$).I had meant to check my oil before I left, however, the scene in the office caused a big delay and by the time I got checked out I had to race back to work before my break was over. When work ended I was shocked and stunned to see my car had leaked a huge puddle of oil onto the pavement beneath it. I checked my oil and again it had been tremendously overfilled. To top it off, some worker there went out of their way to pour anti freeze into all my winter tires they had taken off.I knew there wasn't any point in taking my car back there for more trouble, and a friend recommended Sand Lake Auto behind the Old Seward Hwy on 74th. I took it there and they quickly diagnosed and replaced some gasket or seal and got my ride running great again. I considered taking Alaskan Auto Center LLC to court to pay for the cost as a matter of principle, instead I decided to write this (albeit some months late) so I could spread the news.I would like to warn anyone who is considering taking their automotive here, and let the price I paid be your cautionary tale. I had a great experience at Sand Lake Auto and now refer all my friends there and they all love their fast, honest service and good prices. They stand behind their work and are fantastic, trustworthy and completely reliable. Their 5 star review rating says it all.Do yourself a huge favor, learn from my mistakes and stay as far away from this crooked shop as you can, trust me you and your ride will be so glad you did.

This review is with regards to the customer service and communication that I experienced at Alaskan Auto Center. The gentlemen that I spoke with during my engine swap seemed nice enough, and, from others' reviews on Google and word-of-mouth, are capable mechanics. My job took two weeks longer than expected, and during these two weeks I was the only party to initiate communication. Once completed, my bill was exactly twice what I was quoted. This bill came with an itemized receipt for the work done, however, I was never consulted during the process. When I raised my concerns, I was told, "Welp, Mr. X should have called you about that." Yeah, of course he should have. I will not be using this shop again, and can't even speak on how small I was made to feel as a customer. Instead of gaining a customer for life, Alaskan Auto Center has firmly placed itself in my Hall of Shame.

I've been with this place for a long awhile now, the front desk is nice, you just need to be laid back and not uptight, they all work really hard and are tired most of the time because of the work they put in your vehicles.I've never had any problems after seeing them and they are honest about whats happening with your car. been with them for 9 years now. yet i dont have many car problems so i dont hit there too often. ;)

Appreciate their honesty.Took my car in, they had the mechanic call me and explain what was going on.He was very clear and didnt try to hide or add anything on.He walked me through everyrhing that was going on with it and gave options to move forward.Highly reccomend the shop.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

Terrible Service. They changed my tires in mid December 2017 which led to some rear tire wobbling - when I returned to get the issue fixed I was asked how much money I had and eventually turned away. This shop does not care about the safety of your vehicle, only the contents of your pockets; Regardless of whether they caused the issue you hope to fix. Take your money elsewhere.

Held my vehicle for months without telling me I had to pay them before they would work on it. Why not tell me that when I gave you the car keys? Only called me to tell me that they would charge me 5 a day for parking. I was so mad. I went there and gave them 1k to start and another to finish. When I went back because my new engine kept dying off, they remembered me but lost all of my paperwork so they would have to charge me again to look at it. Of course I didn't go back. It's the worst place I've ever been to. I hope they don't do that to anyone else.

Got harmonic balancer replaced, belts replaced, and a seal fixed. Upon picking up my vehicle they said it would run, I specifically asked about the oil and they said it was "fine." Car was smoking a lot on road, took to Jiffy Lube and they drained nearly four quarts of excess oil. Investigated and found it was impossible to miss my oil being this overfull, confronted head mechanic about this and they refused to accept that they missed such a grievous error in the oil capacity. Dipstick functioning correctly so it was a human error. Head mechanic was extremely rude about situation. Better Business Bureau was contacted. If left so overfull my car would have blown many seals among other issues.

Had them change my summer tires for winter ones and broke a wheel stud. They claimed that it was the fault of the shop that put the tires on, but I find that fishy because they were prepared to let me walk out the door without telling me a wheel stud was snapped off in the screw hole. $70 tire changeover is turning into $100+ more work in a different shop. AK auto center isn't getting any further business from me.

We had these folks replace the motor on our 2000 Tahoe and that went well. On several occasions the engine would quit running at a stop light or just quit in the middle of traffic. Each time we brought it back to Alaskan auto center and their mechanics would change out parts like the fuel pump, 02 Sensors, wiring problems, ect. After a few hundred dollars spent on repairs we still have the same problem with the engine dying out.

I don't recommend it and definitely not taking my Vehicle back Set an appointment just for me to show up and tell me we are gonna have to reschedule Was there twice before did not get my check engine light fixed took time off work to make this appointment Just waste my time and my money and I like supporting local so if that says anything.

I walked in and didnt get any service done because the lazy man wouldn't help me figure out the maintenance I was behind on that needs to be done. There must be a better place in town.Not helpfulNot friendly
