The transmission on our daughters 2017 Ford Focus went out suddenly and due to the kind of transmission it was, no one in our area would work on it so we had to explore shops in Mobile. Mike at Transmission King was eager to assist. We had it towed to his shop on Airport. He quickly got it tore down and analyzed what the problem was Tuesday evening and contacted us. He got the parts on Wednesday and proceeded putting it back together and was finished by Thursday. Very fast, friendly service. No one wants to have to take their car to the shop but Mike and his team made the process fast seamless. Thank you!!

Every now and then you run into Someone with a Heart of Gold I came home last night after work and after pulling into my driveway, a steep incline, found that my 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS's shifter stopped in neutral and wouldn't go into park or any other gear. After a bit of a panic I was somehow able to engage my mind into what was happening, used my emergency brake HARD, got out and grabbed a chock..Being mechanically inclined I of course started researching the problem and found little information. After doing the obvious, checking TCU fuses and adding transmission oil to no avail I spent a restless night.Today I reached out to Transmission King, and when I showed Mr. Mike the photo I am including in this post, he dropped what he was doing, even though it was real busy at the shop, and came to my rescue.I am happy to report that I am back in my vehicle and that it was not a simple fix, but they did it ! and showed me how they did it... they did it, for Free (i am currently a dishwasher at Aztecas Mexican Restaurant but he did not know this until maybe just now if they read this review, i needed this Miracle today) with a Promise From Me that I will pay their Kindness Forward. I am floored, emotional, and Forever in Their Debt. My husband and I are very pleased with the service we got from this place. The owners are so friendly and knowledgeable. They have worked on our son s truck and granddaughter s car. The prices are fair and they get it done in a timely manner. The only thing I could say negative is their parking lot is tight and crowded but that means they do a lot of business.

Scammers at its finest! I called because I was having shifting issues with my 2015 Sierra so Mike asked me to bring it by I THEN INFORMED MIKE that I have a warranty on transmission itself but the shop that installed it went out of business he then said ok just bring it in and he'd have a look at it NO CHARGE I obliged. I deliver the truck to him after small talk I again informed Mike that I have a warranty but let me check with the warranty department and see exactly how they want to handle this case and what's exactly covered Mike then said ok I'll call you I said ok. A few days later I was informed by Mike that he would have to remove the transmission and asked if I have had any services done on transmission lately because it looks new... Yes Mike I told you this. He then gives me the prices on a new torque converter and some "special" transmission fluid I said ok Mike I'm still waiting on response from warranty to see if I'm covered Mike then told me I most likely was not and that they usually only cover 12 months Well that was not the case a few more days went by I received a phone call from Mike saying my truck was ready and I owe him $4300!!! I was in complete shock because he informed me that he rebuit my transmission and that was NOT what we discussed nor had I would have even agreed on going that route. We NEVER discussed a rebuild nor how much it would cost! Once I spoke with my warranty company I was informed that I was covered for an exchange FREE OF CHARGE not only that but they would pay up to $50/HR for the work. Since he "rebuit " the transmission they have voided my warranty that I STILL had 2 more years on AND Mike did give me any warranty at all. He likes to say I didn't remember I had a warranty until he called and informed the that my truck was ready but with this kind of money being issued out to me that just doesn't make sense! Not to mention my warranty department also informed me that Mike told them that I gave him permission to rebuild and I would deal with the warranty provider at a later time, that is a bold face lie. At the end of the day I gave him $2500 to get my truck off of his lot once I threatened to take him to court! I've been leaking transmission fluid since I left but I wouldn't dare take it back. He will not give you an estimate on any work he simply tells you to bring it by so that he can tear it down by then you're stuck! He likes to smile alot and make you feel welcome don't fall for it. I have NEVER written a bad review but i simply could not let this pass!***UPDATE***After taking my truck to the dealer due to same shifting problems I had prior to dealing with Mike I was informed that my transmission had not been rebuilt and there had been some additive mixed in the transmission fluid. I was advised that I needed a full rebuild. Makes since why Mike wouldn't offer a warranty on his "rebuild work" not that I would dare take it back! I now need another transmission dealing with these crooks!Please don't act as if we had a great experience in that office of yours. I simplwanted my truck fixed and Transmission king screwed me it's that simple. They get my review to make it seem as though I didn't reach out but notice how they didn't address ANYTHING I claimed happened! I don't get on here to bash however I WILL tell my story...Service: Transmission

Mike did excellent on my Lexus. He ran diagnostics on my car first to make sure it really needed a complete transmission first and not just a set of solenoids or something else. I already had a good used transmission. But he serviced it to make sure everything worked and performed perfectly before he installed it. Flushed my system to get rid of all the old metal shavings from the old transmission. Needless to say he went above and beyond and for a extremely fair price. He definitely gave me a great deal!!! This is exactly why I used him before when my Honda transmission needed rebuilt. Thank you again Mike and guys for another excellent job well done! Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

We were on vacation 4.5 hours from home when our transmission gave us trouble. Transmission King was available to take our truck that afternoon. The price we were quoted was the price we paid. Work prevented us from picking it up promptly, but they were kind enough to work with us. We're having our first baby this month and I'm so grateful to have the issue taken care of! Truck drives like a dream, shifts as smooth as butter! So glad to have the truck home!

Had a great experience with this place after having my 2016 Versa s transmission rebuilt last week. They were so informative and friendly and made the whole ordeal less stressful for me, and my car runs smooth now. I talked to him the day before I took my Chevy Silverado in because the gear shifter want out and he said he would look at it for free but then called the next day and told me it would be $130. He let my truck die and refused to jump it off. He had us sitting in the heat for 2 hours and kept laughing at the problem and on top of all that he left my truck beside the road with the keys in it with the hood wide open Over nightService: Transmission

I rarely write reviews but here's one: I was just passing through the area when my 2011 Ford Ranger Sport had a transmission line failure. I stopped at 4 or 5 places and I called another 4 or 5 places and the bad news was overnight, 2 or 3 days, even 2 weeks before it could be looked at. Then I called next in line - Transmission King. Mike Ho answered and promised to do everything he could to get me in, repaired and on my way that very afternoon. It was already after 1 p.m.. He did it! And at a fair price too!! I WOULD recommend this place if you need transmisson work done in the Mobile area. Mike and his staff were great and friendly people to meet.

Transmission went out on my Versa and these guys were able to get it fixed rather quickly and not charge me an arm and a leg. They were also super nice. Highly recommended.

Stay away!!!! In early May 2023 I paid "Mike" $300 cash to check the valve body of my Silverado due to the truck going into safe mode. After a couple weeks the truck was doing the same thing, so I took it back to him the end of May and he agreed to check it out. Without my authorization, "Mike" pulled the transmission out of my truck and put a high-pressure sales tactic on me saying it needed to be rebuilt. He wanted almost $3,000 to rebuild the transmission. When I refused and told him he did not have to pull the transmission to determine it needed to be rebuilt, he charged me $695 to put the transmission back and would not release my truck until I paid. This is basically a form of extortion to put the customer over a barrel in order to force a repair. I trusted this guy and never thought he would pull a stunt like this.He also pushes cash payments and needs to be reported to the IRS. My truck has an electrical issue which was causing it to go into safe mode. So go somewhere else for a thorough diagnosis. Don't go to this shop.

My commercial truck broke down at the start of my journey back to the east coast. It was quite unnerving being in an unfamiliar city and finding someone qualified to repair it. I was referred to Transmission King and had an excellent experience with Mike. He gave a fair price for the work and completed it in a timely manner. The issue is completely resolved and the truck is running smoothly. I highly recommend this company.

Great shop, The owner was great not over bearing, explained what he was going to do to fix the transmission. Quote was spot on. Even did some extra things at no additional labor. All I had to do was pay for the part. Great Job Could Not Say More. The only reason I gave four stars is he only gave 6 month warranty. I am very satisfied and would recommend.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I called several transmission repair shops advertised on google searching for quotes to get my transmission serviced and was quoted a GREAT price by Transmission King. I thought when I arrived I would be told my transmission needed more attention than I requested, but I was not. The price quoted was the price I paid! As far as quality of work I have no complaints. My transmission is noticeably running better! When I shift between park, reverse, neutral, and drive I no longer feel my transmission shifting. I am very happy!

I called Transmission King and spoke with a guy named Mike after I explained my problem he advised me to bring it in on Monday morning and he would diagnose it for no charge. I brought it in promptly Monday as advised after I dropped it off a guy named Lee explained to me what they were going to check out and give me a call. 3 days passed and still no call so I stopped by and I was asked by a mechanic what do you want and why was I there if I haven t received a call from them (rude as possible). I explained to him that I was concerned about my transmission and he stated that he test drove it and it has lost reverse so he has to get it up on the rack and then he will call me when they figure it out. Day 4 mike calls and ask how do you start your truck I told him I usually start it with the key. He said that he needs me to come get it started so I went up there and waited for over an hour for Mike to show up. Finally he shows up and he tells me to get it started and he doesn t know anything about motors he is a transmission specialist. Mike diagnosed the problem as a bad starter I had to wait for a mechanic to take off the starter. While I m searching for a starter Mike calls and tells me that they are leaving for the day and they need me to lock up my truck and put the starter on so he can get it fixed. So I finally make it back with the new starter and I had to pay a mechanic to come meet me at the truck and install it only to find out my bolts are missing. Therefore, I call Mike he doesn t answer my calls. As a result, I had to call a tow truck company Friday morning so I wouldn t have to deal with an unprofessional transmission company. John and his team of real mechanics from Southern Transmission diagnosed the issue when it rolled off the tow truck which was loose battery cable and truck started running immediately. Thank you for wasting my time and money Transmission Clowns!

Brought my vehicle in to shop the owner Mike Ho was who I was dealing with he said that I can check your transmission out for free. He had the vehicle for almost a week no call and after I called him he said we ll get to it tomorrow three days pass by and then he called saying that he has to go a little deeper and and go inside the transmission for $250 then I said ok after that a few more days past he told me it would be $1400 to get it fix and he said jus bring me a few dollars each week and it ll be ok. I went to go pick up the vehicle and give him a down payment and he said no we deal with a financing company apply for a loan .Service: Transmission

These were professional and knowledgeable transmission experts. My vehicle was in very dire straits. They were able to work with me on repair costs, and rebuild my transmission. I have nothing but phenomenal things to stay about Transmission King, and recommend them to anyone not wanting to pay the high cost of a dealership repair.

Not very pleased with this place. Lack of communication and unclear about pricing. Gave a price of 2500 and ended up paying 3700 bucks. Very disappointed, would not recommend. Like several reviews has stated he says he is gonna call but never calls and once he open up the transmission you are at his mercy. Wish I would have gone elsewhere, big headache. He also managed to Change my odometer from miles to kilometers. Quite strange. DO NOT GO HERE.

I took my 2008 Nissian Maxima here with a transmission leak, they found the leak, and fixed it quickly! When I first left my car there, I spoke with Eric and told him all the issues I was having with my car. I had a check engine light on, for my catalytic converter, they were kind enough to take it off and clean it for me, FREE OF CHARGE. Definitely will be going here for any other issues! My husband called, he instantly got a good vibe from the guy. I showed up early Friday morning, they guys were nice. The bossman, hopped in my car with me and drove it around.. he told me what I needed. It was much less than I was expecting... I was out of there within the hour. If I ever have transmission issues again, I'll go there again- hands down.

A few nice Japanese guys running the business.They seem to be pretty proficient.I had a free tranny check.Mike drove it, and suggested I have fluid replaced, and see if it helped whirring noise.Still thinking about spending $100 on old car.No real waiting room, and just walk into the shop to let them know you are there.
