Rob and the Costco tire crew are always as helpful and friendly as they could be. The volume of vehicles they fit in within a single day is incredible, which I'm sure impacts some of the wait times in other reviews. I live within a few minutes of this location so I always plan on being dropped off and picked back up anytime I need my vehicles tires replaced or serviced, so it's never been an issue for me. For the value and level of service you receive as well as the Costco tire warranty, you can't beat it. If you go in with the expectation to wait a little while, you won't be disappointed.

I bought tires from Costco to be delivered and installed at this Costco tire installation location. I set up an appointment at 230pm and 15 minutes early. I shopped for groceries for an hour or so with perishables and thinking that it is now close to 4pm and should see if it's ready. Go to counter and it's just now started being worked on. Well, this is the first and last tire purchase and installation ever will be made from Costco and its shop. Should've checked the reviews beforehand. Reviews don't lie.

Got to my appointment five minutes late and the guy at the counter gave me attitude about being late. An hour and a half after my appointment time I checked in to see how long it would be, and they told me they just started working on my car and it would be a half an hour. I wait ANOTHER hour and a half, three hours total after the start of my appointment, and go check in AGAIN, and they say my car has been ready for an hour and they just forgot to call me. Absolutely horrible customer service, and my tires were overinflated. A clear lack of attention to detail is the culture here.

I used Costco for the tire install and that was fine. I know the shop is always busy and that applies to the battery sales desk also. The time it took was longer than usual even though we had the appointment. It seems that there are not enough tire techs on hand to get to the vehicles in the quickest manner. When calling on the phone about battery availability they can be rude about not having time to look up the battery and needing to serve people in the line. Again shortage of workers seem to always be the issue at Costo tire shop. So my rating will be a 3.

I've been coming here for years and haven't had any problems. They are usually very helpful and timely (if you have an appointment and are on time for it). Today is the exception. I had a 1:45 appointment (for which I was 10 minutes early) for a tire rotation and balance. I've been waiting for 2 hours and just found out they haven't even rolled my car into a bay yet.

Establishment has a culture of the customer being a burden to them based on communication with me and others that I observed.Waited 2.25 hours for a basic rotate and balance after having an appointment. When I made an inquiry, I was told it was almost done - I got it 40 minutes after that. They put the tires at significantly higher pressure than required, and when i asked them to fix it, they told me i could do it myself (back to the burden thing). Also confirmed that they do not have a quality check process in their torqing of the lugnets where another person is engaged to do a pass before giving back to the customer. This tells that they don't believe that people are capable of cutting corners/making mistakes and that customer safety is not a priority. If the air pressure being off is an indicator of quality, then my lugnet torque is likely not proper.2 stars overall because the balance seems to be good, but my next set of tires will not be through costco.

Currently waiting on hour 2 of our tire installation. Perishables in cart, slowly thawing. We scheduled an appointment for a reason and yet, here we are wasting more time than would have been spent if we'd just gone home and done it at a local shop.

Great experience today with 4 new tires installed. Had a 10a appointment. Didn t realize there was a line to get in to the store pre open, then a line at tire center counter. They had my car ready in about 90 mins. Got some work and shopping done while waiting.

First, let me start by saying if I could give it 0 stars I would. This isn t the first time this has happened to me. We live in the Tuscaloosa area so making the commute to get to the Hoover Tire Center is its own task. Today, had a 12pm appointment showed up and signed in at 11:40am, ask the tech that is signing me in roughly how long will it take. She replies with hour to hour and 15 minutes, so I think perfect, enough time to go shopping. My family and I walk around and due our diligence of giving them enough time. Walk back up to the counter at roughly 1:10pm so within that time block that was mentioned above and it s a different tech to which he tells me it s still in the system. So I ask if he can tell if it s in a bay so he goes around the corner to check and comes back to inform me that it s not just yet. And informs me that it s got one more vehicle in front of me until mine is serviced. My problem with this, is what is the point of having an appointment, while it s great to get the free tire and rotation, it s ridiculous now that this has happened multiple times with appointments.Very very poor customer service!!! Once the tires run out of life, I will not be going back to Costco to purchase more, that is given!

Do not take your vehicle here for tires PERIOD ..especially a Tesla. The technicians were clueless. They didn t know if the tires were run flat or not, which they are not. I specifically said I wanted to keep my old front tires as they have a lot of tread and had them sold to someone already as they are 21 inch wheels and bring a pretty penny even used. The technician poked a hole through the side wall of the tire. I asked to speak to a manager and he said there was nothing they would do all I could do was write up an incident report and he would turn it in to the General Manager Manny. Scratched one of the wheels and didn t even put valve stem caps back on all of the wheels. Do yourself a favor and go to Discount Tire on 280 where they know what they re doing even if they are a little more expensive. I m going to discount tire tomorrow so they can inspect the installation that Costco did. I wish I would have read all of these bad reviews before doing business with Costco tires. BEWARE!Update Now they have lied and said the tire was already damaged and there was nothing they would do. You would think spending almost $1800 on tires they would have offered something. Nope.

Went for a free rotate and balance today. No appointment so I knew I would have to wait. No problem. They called said my car was ready. Checked out at the desk where they said my car would be around back.Well I go around back and it is still in the bay. Waited 10 minutes and asked a tech was it ready. "Yes, we just need to back it out. About that time a customer drove up to the bays and the techs were helping him with something for TEN MORE MINUTES while my car sat there. THEN a tech who was helping the drive up customer who did have to go to the front desk decided to back my car up. Totally ridiculous to say the least.

Complained about us being 5 minutes late for our appointment then waited an hour and a half before touching the car.

I've purchased my tires from here for the last 4 years and shame on me for not noticing sooner that their warranty is not worth tire purchase. So don't base getting tires solely off of their warranty package. Most employees are nice- but there is one particular man there who is always extremely rude and makes it seem like I am an inconvenience, both on the phone and in person. I always happen to get him so my experience never begins well.

Frustrated doesn t even begin to explain how I feel towards this department. Tonight will be the 3rd, and last time my husband and I bring his truck to the tire center. Each time we have scheduled an appointment for a tire rotation at 5:45- we always are the last people to leave (Costco closes at 9). By this time my husband and I have eaten at the food court and taken our time shopping and STILL end up waiting an hour or more on top of the two hours just spent. Each time we had given them the benefit of the doubt and hoped each time would get better but it never did. Tonight was the icing on the cake when stood at the back and watched them pull my husband s truck out and park it while they decided to clean and get everything closed up instead of giving us our keys back!!! Meanwhile, my husband spoke to the front desk person & expressed how we had cold food and needed our keys- he didn t seem phased and we waited even longer while they continued to close up. All in all I don t understand having an appointment when you wait 3-4 hrs anyways.

As always, the tire center at this Costco was a disappointment. I took an appointment for Noon, and was there for almost 70 minutes. The employees have a constant look of frustration and burnout on their faces, and that reflects in their dealings with customers. Never called me about the car being done, and remain unapologetic. The customer is treated like a liability, which is surprising for a shop that charges you a membership to be an "elite customer". Makes me wonder if the 100 dollar savings are worth a visit the next time around.

Stopped by without an appointment because my TPMS wasn't working. The figured out the entire monitor was gone from one tire and replaced in on the spot while I waited.Update: bought tires from Costco online, stopped by without appointment and they put them on in 45 minutes while I shopped. Can be hard to get a hold of by phone but they do good work.

Made an appointment a couple weeks in advance for 2pmDrop the vehicle offGo shopping and and then I go to see when my vehicle was in line or hopefully in the shop at 3:35 , I see that it has not movedGo to counter ,I ask can I get an updateThey say oh it must be about done they ll call in a few.Go to lot again after 4 , vehicle has not moved since I parked it at 2.I inform the desk that I know my vehicle has not moved and I wish to leave. The gentleman goes back to retrieve my keysAnd comes back and says ,you were next in line.I reply my trust has already been broken.I too read the bad reviews before making my purchase here, I remember saying it will different for me.

The Tire Center apparently does not have the facility and manpower to handle the business that they get in a timely manner. Phone "waits", as noted by others are very long to never answered. And, waits for an appointment to install tires are very long; it took me 3 weeks to get an appointment to get my tires installed after I ordered them online and made an appointment in the store the next day after placing the order. I probably should have taken my tire business elsewhere, but we love the rest of our store experiences at this Costco.

For someone that only service tires this place is a joke. They started out really good with service and products. Products are still good you just can't get to them. Even if you walk in it takes forever for someone to come out to service you. They NEVER answer the phone , if by chance they do answer expect a long hold. Then it takes weeks and sometimes a month to get an appointment, just to get your tires rotated. They need more garages and more help. After my last set of tires wore out I went to NTB, They have longer hours and are way easier to get to. Now waiting on the tires on my husband's care to be replaced so we can be finished with them!!!!

My appointment was at 9 am and I was 15min early. Took 3hrs to install new tires. Making an appointment is useless. I could have taken the tires elsewhere and saved time. Never again will I use their installation service

Lambert was so nice, professional, and caring! I came to get a small hole patched, and he saw a defect in my tire and replaced it with a brand new one for FREE! As a 25 year old girl in grad school he very well could have taken advantage of the situation and charged me for the tire (or even labor) and he didn't. He showed me pictures of the defect, and he said he just didn't feel comfortable with me driving on it even though it didn't seem to alter my driving at all. I really appreciate the thoroughness and professionalism of their work! I will definitely be going back!

I cannot recommend Costco Tires in Hoover. It took them five hours to repair a screw hole in my almost new tire, and it would have taken them that long to install the set of tires two weeks ago if I hadn't arrived at 9:30am to get a number. I will never buy another set of tires from Costco, which is disappointing to say since I've been a happy member for almost 15 years.

Wish I would have checked the reviews here before buying. Beware! Do not buy tires and try to walk in for installation if you value your time. I got there as the store opened at 10 am and they didn't start installation until 4 pm. When I called to make an appointment the "next available" wasn't for 3 weeks. Hopefully those who get appointments get serviced sooner, but I'm not sure they do by the way it is being run. What kind of business plan is this bad these days!? Save your time and go ANYWHERE else. It'll be worth it in time saved. Promise.

I find Hoover, Alabama Costco s tire service to be sleazy and misleading. They say they will warranty tires for a certain time period but the fine print lays out a myriad of conditions upon which they deny your claim. Further, the free tire rotation you get if you buy tires from Costco takes about a half day to get done. It s not even feasible to get any type of tire service from Costco in Hoover Alabama because they are so terrible at servicing your vehicle in a timely manner that you lose a half day s wages. Costco is dishonest and misleading when it comes to tires.

We did not have a good experience. I needed a simple tire patch & after an hour of waiting they stated "they noticed the tire was not a brand they sold & they couldn't patch it based on the locating of the nail". The nail seemed to be @ the threshold & the attendant was confident it couldn't be patched bc it was too unsafe. I tried talking with them about putting a plug in, but they seemed determined to sell me a new tire to replace my new 5 month old tire. They took my tire off & put the spare tire on without asking since they were planning on ordering me a new tire. I asked them to put the tire back on since I wanted to get a second opinion to get it patched & they refused. I ended up driving to the closest Discount Tire & they fixed my tire in 5 minutes. BHAM needs a Discount Tire.

Tire pressure indicator light came on and we showed up at Costco at a little after 5pm. Lambert (I hope I got his name right...) checked our tire pressure for us, found a screw, and took care of the repair for us even though it was really close to closing time. He was SO nice and sweet! Thanks Lambert!

If I could give Zero, I would. Order my tires online 9 days ago. I cut a tire and decided to buy a whole new set. They arrived at Costco at 5:19am (based on the online tracking), it took me calling from 10:30 am to 2pm for someone to tell me they were actually there. Got there at 4:15pm, around 2 hours later they called to tell me that the lug nuts on my 2014 Ford Escape were swollen. My husband is a mechanic by trade. He had already put the spare on before we arrived and had seen the condition of the lug nuts, which looked fine. They told me that I would need to buy their lug nuts. My husband walked to the tire department and asked them to show him the issue. It took the guy 8 lug nuts to find one that was a little snug on the socket. My husband was furious. From what we have heard they use the term "swollen" lug nuts alot and conviently always have plenty of their lug nuts on hand. Oh and the tech had the nerve to say that he could use my Ford lug nuts, but that would put more work on him. With that being said, they put their lug nuts on my vehicle for their convenience not my satisfaction. But I did get back my perfectly good Ford lug nuts for husband to put back on when we get home. Oh and the kicker is they ran my car battery down and preceded to tell us we needed to replace the batteries in both of our keys.

Worst communication and customer service I have ever experienced. After a week of waiting for my "special order" tire to come in and not hearing any response I called four times and finally got a hold of somebody. I later was told that my tire was discontinued and couldn't be ordered however the technician blamed it on the tire company saying that they were never told it was discontinued. No apology .They finally said they would give me the model closest similar to that tire and said to come on i! since they had it in stock already. Upon arriving a different technician told me that they had to special order that tire and the technician I spoke to was on lunch and I would have to wait thirty minutes to get some clarity. The lack of organization, communication and customer service is shocking. I will never come here again . So much time wasted and I left feeling dumber by association.

Used the website to purchase tires. Had an issue where the website made it look like there was a 50k mile treadwear warranty when there really wasnt. I talked to Alexander in the Tire Dept. and showed him how confusing the information on the website was, and he took it from there. He talked with a few members of management and made it right. He was very professional (and helpful) and made a situation where i feared i was just stuck into a very pleasant customer service interaction. Thank you
