After the dealership attempted to make it easy on themselves by recommending a replacement transmission ($$) at 69k miles, I brought the vehicle here for a second opinion. Chip and his team took the time to diagnose the root cause of the problem, which turned out to be an electronic sensor/solenoid issue for an otherwise mechanically sound transmission. They didn't do what was easiest for them, but rather what was best for me. Knowledgeable team, straight advice, good price.

Definitely would never call again. Tried to call and the inexperienced person that answered tried telling me that my vehicle original transmission was garbage and all they could do was upsell a new transmission and they "couldn't rebuild them" will also be going back to the person who recommended them and telling them to stop recommending this place to others because we weren't the only ones told this. Word gets around in Jeep groups just so you know...

Chip is great to work with and is very knowledgeable in what needs to be done. If you get a transmission replaced and you need a starter or have u-joint issues, he can handle it. Highly recommend!!!

Eric was very helpful since the moment I made the call to the World Transmission Office. After dropping off my Nissan Maxima for a loud bump during acceleration, he was able to pin point the issue being my motor mounts. He was helpful in pointing me in the direction of getting this corrected. Great five star service and will return for any other issues that come about.

I am super impressed with this place. I spoke with Chip after being referred to World Transmission for a roaring sound at highway speed on July 2. He wasn't able to fit me in before being closed for the 4th but STILL took a ride in the car, got under it, diagnosed the problem AND told me exactly what to tell a mechanic to do with it. If I have any more transmission problems this is the FIRST place I'll be taking my car.

I found Chip to be honest and not try to sell you a job you didn't need. Several years ago I took a Crown Vic in with a shifting/shuttering problem and he fixed it with a torque converter replacement when he could have told me I needed a trans. rebuilt at three or four times the cost. Last year I recommend him to a friend for a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis trans. problem. She had been told it need to be rebuilt (if was slipping bad) and quoted over $1800. He did the job for over a third less than that and it has worked very well.

After all other options explored I had to have a transfer case on a F150 replaced. It went out again recently while still under warranty. Chip handled it with the manufacturer. He and his staff went above and beyond finding the source of the problem and fixed it. Our family has been using them for over 20 years. Chip runs an honest shop and his staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

There's no other automotive repair shop in Birmingham more trustworthy and skilled than World Trans! Anything other than an oil change and my car is in Chip's hands. Period.
