I would and have recommended this shop to others. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and direct to the point. There are were no fillers and unnecessary procedures offered. I've finally found a reliable mechanic.

Edwin and the crew at Element Garage are the absolute best when it comes to customer service, price, honesty, and quality of work! They are always upfront about any costs on work associated with your vehicle and you can trust they are not trying to "get one over on you". They really know and remember their customers and are very knowledgeable about common problems associated with your particular vehicle model. They really offer you piece of mind that your vehicle is in good hands. Our family will never go anywhere else!

I have gone to see Edwin at Element Garage for years and he is simply the best mechanic in Birmingham. He was recommended to me and I have since recommended him to anyone and everyone who is in need of a mechanic, and no one I have recommended him to has had a bad experience. The fact that his shop has flourished in the past several years is also a good indicator of how reliable and trustworthy his service is. Honest, fair, reliable service, plus years of expertise; you will not be disappointed!

I ve looked for years to find a place in Birmingham (much less anywhere) that takes care of your car and that would be willing to work on my 2010 Subaru Outback. Edwin took out and put back a VBA 3 times to make sure it was the correct fix since my car was throwing some arbitrary codes. It s been a year and no problems shifting! These people are awesome. Yvonne at the front desk even knows her cars and is very nice. I would highly recommend this shop. They re extremely honest, to the point where i trust them completely and will DEFINITELY be taking my car back when it needs more work done. Thank you so much!

While looking for someone close to my workplace downtown to inspect a 2004 Volvo to purchase, I found Element Garage. Edwin and his crew gave me an informed and thorough assessment and plan for needed work at a reasonable price. I've already had to call upon them for an unexpected issue and they were more than accommodating with a timely repair at very reasonable cost. Many thanks to Edwin, Yvonne, and the nice gent in the back whose name I didn't catch. I highly recommend Element Garage.

Went there on 10/03/23 to get a diagnosis on my wife's 2015 Volvo XC 60 , nobody in the front office except a dog behind the counter , walked around the side in the gate to a mess of a yard , ( more like a junk yard ) walked a bit further to see an old stripped out bmw race car , looked at my wife and said , Oh hell NO , you are not leaving your car here as we may never get it back and left in A HURRY

Our car's mechanic shop has been Element Garage for decades now and Edwin Cunill, Yvonne, and Drew are just the nicest, most honest auto repair professionals we've ever been blessed to know. In fact, a local bank president recommended Element Garage to our family some years back and our car is in great shape because of the amazing folks at Element Garage. Also, the prices are very fair, and Edwin and his staff are always eager and ready to answer any car care questions a customer might have. Edwin worked on my daughters 14 year old Volvo when it appeared to be on it's last legs. He got it running and she drove it for months until the battery died. He offered to go jump the car and monitored the battery to see what the problem could be with a fairly new battery. It was up and running again. Then last week she discovered water under the driver side rug. Edwin fixed the leak and patiently removed all the water from the cab. Yesterday we drove the car from Birmingham to DC. Edwin did great work on my van. Affordable and quick. When another unrelated issue cropped up a couple of years later I called him and discussed my problem. Instead of having me come in he recommended a simple repair I do myself. He was dead on and saved me the wad of cash I d have paid for the tow and the repair. Thanks man.

Ed is awesome!!! I have known Ed for about 13 years now and he has fixed all of my cars!! If you are looking for someone knowledgeable about cars he is your guy!! He and his staff are friendly and professional!!! He has many resources and he gets the job done. If he can't fix it he will tell you who can!!! I love this man and his staff!!!

I can't sing Edwin's praises loudly enough. Finding someone who knows their way around a Subaru in the south (without paying dealership prices) is like finding water in the desert. Add in that he's honest about the difference between what you need right now and what you might need later, his prices are great, and he's just a really nice dude--it doesn't get much better.Even though the secret is apparently out on how awesome Edwin is, and he was booked solid for weeks when my Forester recently decided not to start anymore, he went out of his way to squeeze me into his busy schedule. He's done quite a few repairs at this point, and they have all been complete successes. I'm a customer for life.

My review is late, but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to say thank you so much for your honesty and fair pricing. My little red Volvo S40 is running beautifully still. As a female, it's not easy taking your car in for service without feeling you'll be lied to and cheated. After speaking with you over the phone, I felt assured I was dealing with someone with integrity. I highly recommend this repair shop, you won't be disappointed. May God continue to bless your business for years to come.

Too bad there isn't 10 stars. Edwin and Element Garage is a place where you can trust that your car will be repaired correctly at a very fair price. I drive a 1974 BMW 2002 and I have never brought it to a garage before until I had something I couldn't fix myself. Edwin was someone I knew I could trust the car with. He not only did a great job, he found a couple of other maintenance items and got them done for me too. He is going to be my go to guy for anything automotive.

Best car repair shop. Edwin cares about your issues and repair it with reasonable price. I couldn t find any shop in BHM to repair my front end issue, spent about $3K in 2 yrs, maybe 7 garage repair shops. Edwin figured it out in couple of days and fixed it next day.

You won t get more personable and consistently good service anywhere else. Edwin makes you feel certain your car is in good hands. I highly recommend Element Garage for their fair prices, personable approach, and competent work!

Edwin and his staff always go the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied with service and repairs. The costs are always reasonable and less than most other garages we've used around town. We've been pleased with everything and will continue to use Element Garage. Highly recommended!!

I almost never write reviews but felt compelled after my fantastic experience with Edwin and Element Garage. When I called Edwin spent 20 minutes over the phone trying to help me diagnose the problem with my Saab 9-3 and giving tips on things to try on my own. He then quoted me over the phone about what it might cost depending on the actual issue. He offered that if I could find cheaper parts online that he'd use those. He said he'd rather take a look first to see what was really needed. Once he looked at the car he suggested that we do a very inexpensive repair and the car has been great since. I told him I often work on the car myself and he said I could call him any time if I ran into trouble and he'd do what he could to help over the phone. I have NEVER been shown this kind of attention at an auto shop. Prices were totally reasonable and I will be taking all my cars to Element garage as long as I live in Bham.

Best place with the most knowledgeable and caring folks. Edwin saved my Subaru when no other person could. Since we have added a second Subie and it goes there too- even when the place I bought it from offered free oil changes and other service. Won't take my vehicles anywhere else!

Hate to criticize a small business, but this shop did not do good work. Got my oil changed and they didn t install the filter correctly so it leaked and smoked while driving. Also had my tires rotated and they stripped 4 of the lug nuts. Only positive is the low price but I guess I got what I paid for.

I've lived in Birmingham for almost five years and have never found a good mechanic for my Volvo. My wife found Element Garage online and we took my XC70 in to get the control arm replaced. Edwin had it fixed in a day for about $300 less than what other places had quoted me. He also found an issue that will most likely save me several thousand dollars down the line. He seems incredibly knowledgeable on both Vovlos and Saabs and he's a super nice guy and does quality work.I only wish I had found this place earlier because I'll be going here from now on.

I have been taking my cars here for years now. I live in North Shelby County and it's worth it to me to make the drive to Element to get things taken care of. Ed and the crew do high-quality work. They don't do anything unnecessary and they don't cost an arm and a leg. I only trust Edwin and his crew with all my cars and haven't gone anywhere else in 6 years. Have also recommended Element Garage to MANY of my friends. Absolutely love the new building.
