I got my headliner replaced for my convertible top last month. Originally, I was advised I would receive a receipt for parts. Upon picking up my vehicle, I requested receipts to ensure I was not being overcharged. I was told I could not receive the receipt or see the prices of my parts but instead to call the company myself. A piece needed for the top was not ready when my car was ready for pickup, so inconveniently, I had to return to get additional piece attached. I looked into my console because I saw a broken piece and took the vehicle back up to Alabama Autotop. Dave said he may have broken the piece because it s not much room in your car to work with.. he could ve leaned down on it while pressing on the top however I wasn t informed about it so there s nothing I can do about it . Unacceptable and shows very low integrity.

Took the Mercedes all to them for a estimate was quoted a price to fix my roof they said it was ready and when I picked it up paid them 2500 dollars he said they didn t have the capability to fix the electrical and it was just my problem no warranty no help whatsoever highly recommended you look elsewhere top still does not work. Let s the windows down and my roof liner is trashed from dirty fingers all over it

FRAUDULENT BUSINESS ALERT!!!!!!!!!! David lies every other word I was told a Premium top($600) was being put on my car and later found out they switch that to the $100 CHEAP EBAY the place is located in Birmingham since August I even open a case with the Better Business Bureau( THEY ARE NO HELP Smitherman) they already have my money!!!!AND THEY DID NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY$$$$2700 THEY TOOK FROM ME WHEN WILL IT STOP let me introduce myself I'm a Professional Service Technician, Ford certified

Amazing burrito! Just what I needed. The regular was so full, it popped open. Can t imagine how big a large would be! Clean place, very friendly staff, little patio outside.

I had a great experience with this business. My convertible top was 18 years old and had begun to leak. I dropped my car off on Monday and picked it up with a brand new top on Thursday. This company is an authorized Katzkin installer and I took in the vehicle to have the leather covers installed. The employee was not able install the kit. The owner claimed that Katzkin messed up the order and the covers were not done properly. The vehicle was taken to another installer and they were able to install the covers with NO ISSUES!!!!! This company lies. Do not use them. Once something goes bad, the owner turns ugly.

I m not satisfied with the work Alabama top did on my vehicle. They replace the sunshade in my 2015 Nissan Marano. before I took my SUV to Alabama tops I didn t hear any wind from the top of my vehicle. When I receive my SUV back driving home I heard the wind coming from the top on my sunroof. I talk to them on three different occasions and they would not do anything to fix the problem. I offered to pay for whatever the problem was and they wouldn t do anything. Very unhappy will not recommend them to anybody.

Replaced convertible top. Quoted a price over the phone.Based on this quite, they were to fix a problem with the automatic top and install a new canvas top. They took longer than they had promised and I did not complain, but when they did say they were finished, they told me they didn't have time to fix the automatic top because they were " covered up", and it would be months before they could get around to it. I asked what the charge would be without that work being done, and he quoted the original price. His price was Completely out of line if I was only getting a new top. He refused to make an adjustment and even refused to take my check when I came to pay them.In our original conversation, I told him First that I needed the automatic top mechanism fixed and he said they could do that, only then did I begin to tell him that I wanted the top replaced with new canvas. He then gave me a price of 2200.00.A brand new canvas top can be bought for $ 800.00, and installation is typically no more than 800-1000. A complete rebuild of the entire hydraulic top system is less than 800. The hydraulic company that quoted that said that the chance that the Entire system needed repair was next to impossible.I I spoke to my attorney prior to picking the car up. His opinion was that I should politely discuss this and ask for an adjustment and to have a 3rd party present when I went.I did this, but the man was very rude and said he did not care and I would not get any adjustment unless I took him to court. After I left, I found reviews for this company that sounded just like my experience with them. I just wish I had looked them up before I went, but had been told that they did the hydraulic work that was needed. The mechanic who recommended them apologized when he found out about this and said he will never send a customer there again.I don't live in Birmingham, and would have to travel to pursue this in court, which is the only reason I didn'ttake this to small claims court.

Would not recommend this company to anyone.To make a long story short... they lied to my insurance company saying I signed a work order so when I confronted them, they gave me the runaround and eventually let the truth out that they installed my new sunroof without my permission. A direct quote from them: "insurance normally folds at the last minute and pays for it" that they apparently felt like justified making my life hell for a week and half. Listen to these reviews that are saying this company is a scam-- they are only out for money.

Called when my sunroof stoped working. Told them the problem and what my truck was. They knew on the phone what the problem was and the cost. Had the truck back in less than 24hours! Great experience and the parts they used are factory parts, so they came with a warranty.Would definitely use again!

Reliable, reasonable, and remarkable! My aftermarket sunroof (added in Kansas) blew off. Dave received my call, recommended a time to come in for an estimate, then order the parts and had me out the door in the same day. The estimate was spot on and the results were way better than I expected. Literally, better than new in every way. I'll be going back for convertible top and headliner repair on my other vehicles as a result. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I had a large pop-up sunroof installed on my van. The process was easy and painless. The guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. He quoted the price accurately and ordered the sunroof in from ATL over the weekend. I brought it in on a weekday afternoon and they had it ready for me after lunch the next day. I have had it for over 2 months now. No leaks, no show of wear on the gasket, open and closes with ease. Completely satisfied with my experience here!

Owner has no customer service skills he has attitude I was not completely told how the roof of my car would look once the work was completed. They over charge and you can t talk to them about work once complete they are right and no changing it. I will not take my car here if I ever need any kind of work on my car. I had to take to have tail light repaired after having a gasket put on around my tail light. Poor service. The guys that work there are nice but owner leaves a lot to be desired.

Another shop took our vehicle here to fix our panoramic roof that we had the parts for. Someone called yesterday from Alabama Auto Top and said the parts we had were not the right parts and they would have to order parts and gave us a price and even though we thought it was high we said ok fix it because we thought they were ordering new parts. Well today after paying and then getting the vehicle and receipt it says on the the receipt that they repaired my panoramic roof with parts I gave them and charged $625.00 labor and $19.50 for shop supplies. Also one box of the parts were not in the vehicle so I know they used rhw parts I had.They got grease in my vehicle also

My mother took her car in for a leak from a sunroof. Had pine straw and debris in the seal. Said they put it in the "rain room" for testing...I think not! We got it back and after the first rain, it was still leaking. Made an appointment to take it back today and they said they could not take because it was after 12 on a Monday . To bring it in next Monday. I had my mom take pictures and video of the water pouring in and she opened the sunroof and it was still full of debris. She had not opened it until today. Had they fixed/cleaned it the first time, they would not be receiving this low rating. All we wanted was it to be fixed,,,be HONEST Auto Top! YOU DID NOT FIX IT !

These guys replaced the sunroof in my F150 as part of an insurance claim. Couldn't be happier with the service I received. Dave was excellent to work with.

I am posting this for my husband, as it was his car that needed the drivers seat repaired. This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I was charged 3 times more than another company quoted.The other company was to replace only 1 panel. I decided to go with Ala. Auto top because Dave told me, to do the job right they would have to take off 3 panels of the drivers seat, to correct the problem. I picked my Camaro up, as soon as I got home I realized the snap that was replaced did not work. The panel that had the worn spot, which they had replaced, wasn't pulled tight & felt lumpy. Dave then informed me they only replaced one panel. I paidfor three panels to be replaced. I feel like I have been taken advantage of, or ripped off is a better word, for how I feel. Dave did take care of the problem on my second trip. He still didn't give me back any money for not replacing the other panels. I will tell everyone , who will listen, to not trustthis co. As they will lie to you & do not do quality work.

I spoke with the owner's son, Dave. Was extremely rude. Told me to bring the vehicle in on Wednesday for repair and a quote. When I arrived I was immediately told it would be next week before they could start. Then gave me a repair cost of $750 before even looking at the vehicle. Extremely rude interaction. I will not be back. Much different experience than what I had there two years prior.

Brought a 10 year old convertible in 7 months ago to check if anything need replacement, they replaced the water bags that I didn t have a problem with previously, the waterbag started to leak, I then emailed them about the problem, was told to bring it in no problem and they d check it out. I got to the shop and they say they can t actually test to see what s wrong, but they can replace something and see if that works. Horrible quality of customer service.

My experience not so good. After I was given the run around I took my vehicle in because my sun roof was leaking. I was told it was going to cost 900.00. I asked what was the problem he my glass had to be replaced because the seal and glass was not sold together. I said I was going to get a second option then he said the charge was 97 00 for a diagnostic fee. Funny how he mentioned this after I said I was taking my car some where else which I did the dealership they changed 160. 00 That is a long way from 900.00. I got to keep my original glass. Go figure !!!

Fraudulent business... I'm out $1500 for leather seats I purchased. I see a lot of there reviews are the quality or work or product but I'm here to tell you if they think they can screw you they just won't do the work. Don't pay then until you have inspected there work. They constantly play the blame game and put out off on other salesmen. I even tried to get them to give me the leather and me have someone else that is qualified to install it. The original salesman Jeff I think pocketed the money and never placed the order. And now he doesn't even work there anymore that's what I'm told anyways.Please trust me and just go somewhere else. I will keep trying until this business is closed

Do not support this business.I left my car there to get conv top and carpet replaced and agreed on price, 2 weeks later, David (son) and the father is even worse than him, calls and asked for more money and said some of the items were not included in the price. Did not have the quote in writing. The Better Business Bureau did not help. I called the cops, paid them in cash, (they didn't take Cc) and got my car back!No Ethics, no morals, do not support this business.I am an Automotive Engineer.

The owner of this company is awful. Disrespectful doesn t even begin to cover it. He will literally take advantage of the lack of knowledge a young woman has on a car and try to get thousands out of it. He LIED multiple times and eventually slipped up and told the truth that he just wanted to fix it in hopes someone would pay for it. 0 stars. Do not use this company.

If I could give negative stars I would. I was reasonable and wanted them to correct the issue. My top still does not work and Dave Jr washed his hands of us yesterday. To be one of the most respected in Birmingham and do not have machines to diagnose problems is ridiculous. He said take it somewhere and then bring it back he could do it cheaper. I paid him already to fix it and he didn't.

I told them my problem with my convertible top and the guy said my car was troublematic and he didn't have time to deal with it and to take it to the dealership. Not very helpful! Seemed like they are just choosing the easy jobs and the ones they can make money off of.

My car was not ready when I was told it would be. The material used did not match. According to the owner-that s the industry standard and I should have used common sense. He also threatened to call the police because he thought we were going to drive off. We gave no indication of driving off.Not only is the work poor the service is horrible.Service: Upholstery repair
