Came there for winter tire swap with my own winter tires anda state inspection. They found out I have a small bubble on one of the winter tires but never bother telling me in person, or over the phone. They did circle it out with a piece of chalk or some sort and I only found out after getting back home. And our car is a front wheel drive car and yet they still put that defect tire on the front axel! It's our third time here, every time this place left over something that I had to either clean up or ask them to do it again. Very disappointed and struggle to understand where are the good reviews come from.

One of our car brakes got stuck over the weekend, and we went to Midas to do a diagnostic and evaluate the damages and required repairs. The quote was over 1200$ to replace only 1 of the brakes (pads, rotor, and caliper). The labor fees and part prices were outrageous.They also run a full diagnostic of your car even if you don't need it to force you to repair and replace more parts prematurely.The front desk service was courteous. I don't know if they have good mechanics, but their business model is dishonest, and their rates are overpriced.I went elsewhere to an independent garage to repair my brake and paid less than half of that.

Very nice people and were able to get me in promptly. Very communicative during the whole process. I just wish that replacing brakes around here wasn t over $1,500. Thank you Midas team for all of your help.

We were in a jam. The muffler on my wife's car broke while driving on Friday from Montreal. For color my wife is a nervous driver. 50mph is a maximum speed ,passing is not allowed, the arm rest has multiple lines from stress scratches and driving in the rain is a tentative experience.Suffice to say that a repair of the broken muffler was her priority on Saturday morning or otherwise our four day fall vacation in Vermont was back to Canada.Open car repair shops in the Burlington area on a Saturday are as rare as Loch Ness sightings on Lake Champlain.Google led me to Midas.The experience was a more than pleasant surprise. From the most detailed computerized inspection service where safety transcends doubts about cross selling to the following professional completions:,repaired muffler, alternator belt replacement,steering revitalization,badly needed head light buffing as well as identification of minor oil leak and needed ball joint replacement,their investigation was thorough.The wait time of four hours was a piece of cake The client room is replete with fresh water, free coffee and Tv and a spotless floor.Front desk staff with great software are fully apprised of work in progress on your car and have the analytical skills to match those of the mechanics in the garage.Hunger intervened after several hours of legitimate wait. Literally Midas has everything. Next door is the incomparable institution, Al's French fries and their wonderful playground for children and parents alike, Marco's , a sandwich shop in need of rejuvenation and a block away,also served up a brilliant sub on home made fresh baguette.Bottom line: I found the Midas touch for car repair though safety of mind does not come cheap.For Canadian readers,the 31% premium on the US dollar is offset somewhat by only a 3.5%Vermont sales tax and then there is the good variety of area shopping less the US Border wait and the present high cost of gasoline.

Amazing service! -- My splash guard came off and I was worried because I wasn't sure what was wrong. I came into the store in a panic and was greeted/helped very kindly by Jeff Lanoue and one other person who helped fix it up quickly, even though they were closing soon! Great customer service!

I brought my truck in for exhaust repair, to this South Burlington location back in January 2023. They performed this whole inspection of all the systems which i appreciate, but i did not ask for and was not informed about in advance. Then they convinced me to let them do extensive work on the brake system. When i picked up my truck, the brakes were really soft so I brought it back. When I picked it up a second time, the parking brake was completely disconnected, so i had to leave it with them another day and then when i picked it up a third time the parking brake still was not tight. Finally since i had to drive over an hour, each way, each time i went to try to pick it up, i had to fix the brake myself. A few months later and I am realizing that the $250 exhaust repair was also not completed properly. Definitely will find another shop that will focus on the issue at hand rather than trying to sell me on all these other things. The guys were friendly but the work is not up to par.Edited to add response to owner- was definitely this location check your records better.

I HIGHLY recommend this place I have a 2016 Subaru crosstrek bought used and as a used car it will come with issues this time I came across my exhaust sleeve rusting off had figured this out by how loud my car was getting as I was searching for a place to get it fixed I found Midas I asked them how much it would cost by just using a picture and they gave me a price that I liked most places you can t just show a picture then get a price they try to get more money out of u by inspecting it but here it was quick and simple to the point

I went in to have them check a strange noise in my Tesla before continuing a road trip. Although they don't typically work on Teslas they were willing to take a look and confirm that it was not a dangerous situation and sent me on my way without a charge. Great service!

Very impressed with the service here. We were from out of town and desparately needed a new tire so we could get on the road. They managed to fit us in on a Saturday, worked quickly, gave us a fair price, and never tried to convince us to add on anything extra. Beware of using this shop. Despite my rotors being replaced less than 12 months ago with low miles since, they failed inspection for rusted rotors in an attempt to generate more $. They knew my rotors have been replaced. The guys here at MIDAS really saved me in a pinch. I was moving my daughter into ST. Michaels college. After a long idle my car became basically inoperable. Engine skipping and misfiring really bad. All the dash lights were on. I was only In town for one night. I was leaving the next morning for the 250 mile trip back to Massachusetts. I limped my car over to MIDAS, and explained my nightmare scenario to them. Instantly I could tell they had compassion for my situation, and genuinely wanted to help.They took me in and got me rolling the next day agianst all odds. I couldn't have had a better experience at a garage anywhere. Joe Warner, and David Lang are stand up guys, and genuinely just want to help get you back on the road. I am truly grateful for these gentlemen at MIDAS in South Burlington. They are all amazing techs and actually care for their customers. Id give them 20 stars if I could. They are all A+ technicians. Spent $1400 for brake work last October and brakes squeaked continuously afterward. Took it back twice last fall. Jeff was the guys we dealt with. First time he told us they didn't squeak even though we heard the brakes squeak when the mechanic drove it back into the lot. Took it back again this Spring and they told us our brake calipers were frozen when they originally did the brakes, but they just "pushed them up". Gave us another $1200 estimate. It did not make sense that they wouldn't have told us, last fall when they did the brake work, that our calipers were bad so they could charge us for replacing those too. Wouldn't it be dangerous not to inform a customer of inoperable brake calipers? These folks must think their customers are stupid.We obviously didn't believe them so took it to the Subaru dealership. Calipers are just fine, but the brake pads they put on were the problem. Brake pads changed, squeak is gone. These people are absolute liars and probably not qualified to be working on your car. TAKE YOUR CAR ELSEWHERE and protect yourself and your wallet.

There was a staffing problem and the guys thought they couldn t get to my car that day. Instead of sending me away without service, they came together as a team and got my car done. Every single person I spoke to was patient, kind and friendly even at the end of an incredibly busy day. These guys are amazing!

I ve been to Midas a few times before and they did a fine job. Last time not so much. Last time I went to Midas for a state inspection, I was told I needed a ton of repairs to even pass inspection on a relatively new car (2018). It was a great shock to me. I reluctantly agreed to the repairs. They gave me a price quote that day of around 1300, then the next when they called to say it was done, Jeff to to tell me it was going to be $1600, $300 MORE THAN WHAT THEY TOLD ME!! When I challenged them on it, they dropped it and charged me the initial estimate. When I picked it up, the guys were chuckling about it and said yeah I guess Jeff got that straightened out for you . It gave me the impression that they commonly do this, especially to young women like myself. They also broke a part while repairing something else and tried to charge me for it, when it was perfectly fine before I brought it in. I am very skeptical that I even needed the work that was done. I will never go here for a state inspection again. I tried to let my skepticism go, as I didn t want to believe this mechanic would do that. They seemed nice & knowledgeable before. But after talking to some friends about this, they shared similar experiences. Be very careful if you go here for auto work.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

Service was great. staff was very friendly and helpful. i feel confident this business knows what they re doing and will continue to trust them to work on my vehicles. my only complaint with them is that their estimates for how long a job will take are horrendously inaccurate. i understand they are understaffed and so there will be delays, as is the case with many businesses at the moment, but the staff at midas are not upfront about this. i was informed several times the work on my car would be a 3-4 hour job , but they ended up having my car for 26 hours. they did give me a loaner car to use since they were having issues, but only after calling them to check on my vehicle since i had not heard from them in the time frame they initially gave me. after picking up the loaner i asked if my car would be ready at a specific time the next morning and their reply was i see no reason why it wouldn t be . when i called about a half an hour before that specific time to see if it was ready they told me they had just begun working on it. they do great work, they re great at explaining issues and the importance of some things while what other things can wait. but they are not good at communicating accurate timing estimates. and as i said before, i can understand that they are understaffed and things will take longer than usual, i just expect to be told that upfront when i schedule an appointment with. i don t understand why they told me multiple times that the work usually takes 3-4 hours if they knew they were understaffed and would need my car much longer than 3-4 hours. if they had been upfront about it then this review would be 5 stars.

They took me in for a drop off with no appointment because I had to leave town the next day. The car was done same day, so they ended up saving me money on getting around town. Super appreciative and great full.Service: Brake service & repairService: Brake service & repair

I was referred to this place by a co-worker who has been coming here for years. I went in for an inspection and got a couple of other things taken care of too (new back tires, oil change). The front desk guys were very friendly, and they were very communicative. After the service my car is running so much better. Great place, will definitely be back. :)Services: Wheel alignment, Oil change

We were on a 7 day trip to Cape Cod-Boston, day two we got a flat tire! My tires are over sized and hard to find but the service rep. Found a correct size tire ( not the same brand but no fault of the rep.) size was crucial!! He even went and picked it up himself to save time for us! The tire was installed with no issues and we were able to get back on the road in under two hours which was unbelievable to us!! Great job and many thanks - S&L McDService: Tires

I made an appointment to get my AC charged & oil changed before a road trip but they didn t have it in the books when I showed up! But they took me anyway! I sat and watched a great group of mechanics and managers operate at the top of their game while my car was being worked on. Great experience, thanks guys!

A long over due review of my service and experience with Midas of South Burlington.The crew at Midas from start to finish was excellent. Although a muffler repair turned into a great deal more, it was work that needed to be done. With this being said, an hours worth of work turned into several which put me in a situation of not being able to get to work on the other side of Burlington. The gentleman working the counter was so thoughtful in arranging a ride for me with the owner-Pete! Not only was the work done well, but this customer service, well above and beyond cannot be beat. Thank you everyone at Midas and especially Pete for making an unplanned day into a very positive experience!
