I moved to Livingston two years ago from Detroit. Recently had a transmission issue in my 2008 Ford Explorer, an issue that was out of my ability to fix myself.I stopped at Woolbright and spoke with Tony. He explained the issue and what he could do to remedy the issue. He and his staff replaced my transmission with a re manufactured transmission from a company with a solid reputation and a complete warranty. My Explorer drove like brand new.Should I need further repairs, I will return to Woolbright Auto Repair, my experience earned them a five star review, six stars if they permitted.Service: Transmission

I'm certain Tony can fix anything. He got my truck fixed up in a days time once the part was received and had it running better than ever. Nice, friendly helpful folks at the shop. Highly recommend having Woolbrights work on any of your automotive needs.

Id rate ZERO stars but it wouldnt let me.My father took his 2014 chevy cruze ltz to them. His car was overheating, electrical power steering light was on, service stabilitrac, and service traction control. As well as, the check engine light. After a little bit the mechanic working on the car called him and told him he needed a $500 water pump. My dad not knowing much about cars purchased the part. Then after having the car for a few months, woolbrights called him and said that he didn't need the water pump, that the engine wasn't worth saving, and he needed to come get his car. So my dad did just that. He had the car towed back to his expecting to get it back in the same condition woolbrights received it in. However, that is definitely NOT what he got. After the vehicle was placed in the garage by the flat bed, the hood was opened where we discovered, almost the entire wiring harness had been disconnected, air intake was in the back seat, several bolts and clips were removed and thrown in a box, as well as the car battery was and still is missing. Now, I've gotten possession of the vehicle and had fixed the BLOWN HEAD GASKET. which is the only thing, beside spark plugs and the electric power steering fuse, that the car needed. Keep in mind this car is a 1 owner, 110k miles, and has never been driven hard. Yet, these "mechanics" told my father the car wasn't worth saving and stole his battery. A BRAND NEW BATTERY. I would take a toy car to them let along ever let them work on any of my family or friends vehicles ever again. They proven themselves to be completely dishonest and lack of integrity.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Absolutely one of the only places I trust to leave my vehicle for repairs/maintenance. Tony and his guys are thorough, honest, and affordable. Their work is top quality, and their pride in what they do shows! No lies, it's also a great place to catch up on what's going on around town and "shoot the breeze" too. Great place to do business, with even better people!

After paying 1,100.00 in services for an installation of a rebuilt transmission a tune up, oil change and struts. My car was worse than when I took it in.There was a bad vibration and the car felt like it was falling apart.Took it elsewhere and the driver's side tire had only one lugnut tightened the other 3 were able to be removed by hand, it had also a broken caliper which damaged the rotor on the driver's side as well.I called immediately and told them about the vibration and the transmission slipping, his response was I told you not to buy a rebuilt Transmission and I asked what should I do just keep driving it and he said yes.Meanwhile I took it for a second opinion and found the out about my tire and brakes , caliper and an alignment.Once replaced the transmission stopped slipping and the vibration was gone,Another 400.00 to a different repair shop. And woolbrights let me leave his shop with an unsafe car, if they did any kind of a test drive they would of have known about the other issue especially the vibration up front from the loose tire.None of these were an issue when I took my car to their shop.I can not recommend this shop for any safe repairs.Update Woolbrights just called to tell me he drove my car and there was no rattle, the other shop I took my car to had no reason to lie about my tire not being on there correctly tightened.Woolbrights also said he drove my car and it was fine and he tightened the tire his self I find that untrue, if he would of drove my car he would of felt the vibration. He called and basically to let me know he could careless about my review because it wouldn't hurt his business.I'm not trying to bash anyone was only making others aware of what he did by not tightening up my drivers side tire and that it caused more damage. He was out of line by talking to me the way he did about the work that his shop failed at.

I've used Tony, Stan and the other mechanics for several years. Honest, reliable and my appointment has always meant that's when they start work on it, not just a drop off date. 5 stars
