Recently, a bunch of warning lights lit up on my dashboard. A friend suggested I call HHI Auto Techs- and I'm so glad I did!This was a first visit for me. I called and they were able to see me within the hour. My warning light issues were resolved promptly, and in less than 30 minutes, I was on my way again. I learned more about automobiles during that visit than I have in a lifetime of dealership patronage. I received service with a smile and now happily call myself a customer! I'll be back!

I am a resident of HHI. I was looking for a battery to be installed in a friend s truck. Went to 3 different parts stores and kin could help. Hit a referral to AutoTech from AutoPartsPlus. Thank goodness. Bryant was awesome! He was pleasant, fun and efficient. Got the new battery and great service in 30 minutes. I highly recommend this business. My new auto place!

My family & I were in town for my wife s reading conference (4 hours from home). On the way down, my truck started making a terrible noise. After coming on into town, we settled into our hotel & the next morning I looked up local mechanics. The first 4 places I called were all booked up & couldn t get to me, so I called Hilton Head Auto & they were able to get right to me. They got in my truck, heard the noise & were able to fix it in less than an hour. Every single staff member was welcoming, friendly & extremely knowledgeable. The staff even showed my kids around the shop. I was beyond pleased & would recommend this shop to anybody!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Awesome, clean, and professional repair shop! I was dropping off customer s suv that needed a tow. The owner greeted me and even though they were almost closed I still got the keys to the counter!

Bryant (owner) is the best mechanic I ve ever had. Even my parents who live elsewhere said they wished they had a mechanic like Hilton Head Auto Techs. They treated me like family, never overcharged, would always get me in quick, and always had great customer service. I can t say enough good things about this place. I moved away and had my last car checkup with them (sadly) and I know I will never be able to find a place this great again. 12/10 fantastic shop.Note for Bryant: thank you again and I made it home safely thanks to your help! I can not thank the team at Hilton Head Auto Techs enough. I am from Pennsylvania and driving half way to Hilton Head my car's air conditioner completely stopped working. I called them and they got me in first thing the next morning. The entire staff was so kind and assured me they would get it working for me before my 800 mile drive home in the 90 degree heat! They delivered and at a reasonable price. Wonderful to do business with. Would highly recommend.

I've been having my vehicles serviced and repaired by Hilton Head Auto Techs for the nearly 8 years I have lived on the Island. Visiting HHI from Chicago suburbs. I was experiencing battery/alternator problems and we were heading home soon. They quickly diagnosed my problem and installed a new battery within an hour. While waiting I also witnessed great customer service with a number of long term patrons. Very personable service.

My daughter drove here from Oregon and when she arrived her Check Engine Light was on. Hilton Head Auto Techs found and repaired an engine internal vacuum leak and repaired it. Had to get my 2018 Jeep renegade battery replaced but it can be tricky since there is electrical programming involved, auto techs were able to fix her up without a problem and they were the nicest people ever! Preston was so helpful and made the whole experience a dream! Thank you so much HHI auto techs! I was in and out in less than an hour and their service was perfect!!

I took my truck in to have an oil leak repaired. After a couple of weeks, they called and said it was repaired. I picked it up and by the time I got home, all the oil had drained out. My leak was far worse than when I took it. They said bring it back and they would take care of it. I was hesitant but had no choice but to give them another try. They had now had my truck for a month. I finally picked it up and, after more than $2000 in labor and for parts, I drove it home and it still had an oil leak. They fixed their huge mistake, but the minor oil leak that I took the truck in for well, it still leaks.

Unbelievable experiencegreat customer serviceAC needed repair and leaving in 30 hours for Florida trip to the Keys and several other places. Bryant drove me back to my Hotel then worked after hours to make repairs.Picked me up in the morning and I was on my way on time. Trusted these guys to fix my car, Gave them the keys, No car for 4 hours, Pay hundreds of dollars just for them to fix the wrong part! Don't waste your time with this business. Also the "owner" Bryant is a racist. Making racial jokes to your employees infront of customers is not a way to run a business. Hopefully this experience for them will only make them grow and learn from their horrible and dumb mistakes Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Auto maintenance

My radiator was damaged (debris on the road) and happened to drive by this place & so glad I did. Preston helped me right way by coming out to my car to look it over on the lot. They put they put my suv on the lift, diagnosed what was needed, had part ordered all within 45 mins!! Suv had to stay overnight & it was ready when as promised. Honest & dependable. Friendly service. Thank you so much!

I was in Hilton Head on vacation with my family this past summer during the peak of the heat wave. The day after we arrived, our AC started blowing hot air. With 3 small children and a elderly dog and a 14 hour drive home coming up at the end of the week, no AC was NOT an option. Hilton Head Auto Techs went out of their way to get our AC back to blowing cold and even offered to be available after-hours if we ran into any last minute problems before our departure. Can't recommend enough! Great shop - great people!! ..and very reasonable prices. Thanks again!Service: Air conditioning

I have used their services since the day they opened for business about 15 years ago. Bryant, Russ, Preston and his team are top notch. My 2005 Toyota Camry LE, 168,000+ miles, still runs like new. Only needed maintenance and repairs done. Their work is always done on time and is 5-star quality. I strongly recommend Hilton Head Auto Techs for any domestic or foreign manufactured vehicle. They have replaced compressor, alternator, tires, brake pads and other parts needing replacing due to wear and tear, plus many lube and filter replacements.Harrison III

Ready to return home after a great vacation and the engine light went on. Took it to Auto Techs and after running the diagnostic they reset the trouble light, clearly explained the situation, and told me I should have no trouble getting home.Being a tourist they could have price gouged me - but they didn t. They are very friendly and knowledgeable!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I drove down for vacation from PA to Hilton Head Island, SC. On my route down south, I was traveling down I95. When I crossed the border into NC I hit something on the roadway that did damage to my suv. My family and myself made it down here and during our stay my niece found this business. The guys were so nice, they fit me in right after she called for an appointment and also had my suv fixed the same day. They guys did an amazing job, very nice, courtesy, and was honest with me. I will recommend them to anyone and if I ever need service again I know where to come when I am back down here.

My experience at this place of business was awesome, from the first phone call to the time I spent there till I left, even the customer who was waiting for his car was friendly! Preston, the office manager, was so professional and knew what he was doing. My car battery died and I was out of town on a mini vaca by myself, so it wasn t a pleasant experience to ask for a jumpstart from a stranger but God was with me and the hotel where I was staying recommended Hilton Head Auto techs. I m so glad they did!!! They also had me on the road sooner then expected! Great job fellas! (Also, it s not very often I even take the time to right a review.)Service: Battery

I made an appointment to get my car's air conditioning charge. I asked the range of cost for the service. The attendant said that they didn't do that because depending on what the problem was that caused the issue they would have to do something else. I reiterated again the lowest possible cost through the highest possible cost; certainly they have been doing this a long time and would know the cost range of "charging a car for air conditioning." The attendant later gave my call to a mechanic who faced with the same question said that it would be difficult to give a price. He said that it was like getting surgery on an arm and that the cost would be difficult to establish if there were other problems. He messed with the wrong person: I told him that I was in the medical field and that every procedure known to mankind done on a human body has a procedural code and cost associated with it. He kept insisting not, I then said to cancel my appointment that I would not be doing business with someone who wouldn't give me a price range. They thought I had hung up, but I continued on the line and heard them insulting me and "that is how customers are and try to rip us off!" Really? Go take a hike where the sun don't shine.

Absolutely wonderful! We drove from NJ and just before the end of our vacation, our brakes started grinding. Concerned about driving all the way home, I called Bryant from Auto Techs. Not only did they take care of my brakes in time for our trip home (at a very fair price) but they helped us to enjoy our last day of vacation instead of sitting in a repair shop and were super friendly and kind! Even gave me tips on moving here sometime in our future. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us!

We have been using Hilton Head Auto Techs since we moved onto Hilton Head in June of 2018. They do a fantastic job and perform a general inspection of our Rav4 every time that they work on it. They check the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule and keep our vehicle and us safe! Very friendly and accommodating people. I was referred to HH Auto Techs by a past review. I'd run over a screw and took my car to them for their opinion. Rather than directing me or selling me a new tire, given the small amount of tread used, they were able to patch my tire. They were honest and up front, and didn't give my the run-around. Hilton Head Auto Tech has once again come through in a pinch. This time, I needed a starter battery after I had it jump started. It needed special tools I didn t have to get it out of a tight spot from under the passenger seat. They used a high quality battery and had me back on the road the same afternoon.
