We had a wonderful stay at Silver Surf Motel! Our cabin was clean newly renovated and just what we were looking for at a very reasonable rate. Great charm in a classic little motel with amazing helpful staff. Beautiful views and a easy walk to the beach, we found many sand dollars and beautiful rocks. Also note worthy they have large spotlights out onto the beach that make it so nice to take an evening stroll down to the water. We will visit again for sure!

This hotel is the least expensive in Yachats, and if that is important, it is a good hotel. The maintenance was on the edge of functionality. Don't be surprised if not all is working properly in your room. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and accommodating, allowing for my elderly father who tried to book two rooms from a third party vender, but failed to get the details right, to still get two rooms. They have a pool, it was heated, the showers in the pool locker room were strong and hot.Rooms: Rooms were a little behind on the maintenance.Walkability: Very close to a sandy beach, about 2 miles from town.Food & drinks: The Continental breakfast would probably be OK for kids.

We stayed here with our dogs in one of the pet friendly rooms. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean but could use some updates - they said they are renovating the pet friendly rooms this winter. We were worried when we saw some reviews about dirty, moldy rooms, but we didn't have any problems. There were no vacancies while we were there, but we could barely hear anyone else while we were in our room. The ocean view from the balcony was amazing, and we enjoyed the direct access to the beach. It was also a quick easy drive to a lot of other gorgeous beaches and the downtown area. We really enjoyed our stay here and look forward to coming back next year!

Have stayed there a number of times and I swore I would never go back till I met the new management team in February 2023.While the place is "quaint", to be so close the the ocean and have the view from a lot of the rooms, it fits our needs very well.I also have to say we had some confusion over our last reservation and Taylor handled it as well as I could have ever asked for. GREAT PEOPLE!Trying to get back there soon.

They also have on their site that they are planning to do renovations in 2024. They need memory foam toppers on their beds and they need to make sure all linens are properly cleaned. Mopping should be done more often not just sweeping. Food Handling training should be revisited for all staff including the owner and manager. This hotel just needs some TLC to make it better.Food & drinks: Several local pubs and restaurants with great food choices. Some may only take cash.

I absolutely adored this place. The hotel was more than I expected. The room was great. Small kitchenette with a nice size refrigerator. The bed was comfortable. The room was very well decorated as well as the bathroom with ample hygiene supplies too. Only about a 40 ft walk to the beach access. I would definitely stay here again as this place was worth the time and money.

This hotel is far from a 3 star hotel ! If you are booking a pet friendly room make sure it's not #21 ! This is not an updated room . The picture for a pet friendly two queen room is the updated room. And they charge you the same price even though you are not staying in the room shown in their pictures. Black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom ! See the pictures I added and that is their ground floor 2 queen pet friendly room. It smelled bad !!

Conveniently located right outside of Yachats, it's a short drive to restaurants and shops. Our room overlooked the beach and was soothing to hear the waves at night. The rooms need updating badly, but they were very clean and tidy. The breakfast included was satisfactory, and the staff were friendly. The pool and hot tub were perfect temperatures. We will definitely be back!

My girlfriends and I have been staying at the Silver Surf for quite a few years. The location, ocean view and access to the beach are wonderful. But we will Not be going back again. Our room on the first floor was Not clean, the appliances are old and rusty, the balcony was actually pulling away from the wall with a large gap. We didn't use the dishes without washing them first.The office staff were nice but unfortunately my friends and I are sadden to think we can't return to such a run down place.

Stayed in room 26 from 2/19/23 through 2/21/23. It was cheap for a reason. It is filthy, even for a cheap motel. Within minutes of checking in we had to request new sheets and pillow cases as we found blood and dirt when we pulled the blankets back. One of the light fixtures had quite the collection of dead bugs. Went into the bathroom and found "lotion" and blood on the roll of toilet paper. Discovered quite a pile of food crumbs in the entertainment center of all places. I don't recommend using any of the dishes in the room. See the picture of the dish drainer and you'll understand why. The best part was the pile of dirt on the floor next to the broom and dust pan that should've been used to clean up that pile. I will say one good thing. The view from the deck was nice, but it would have been more comforting if the sliding glass door actually locked as we were on the ground level.

Very Nice Motel. Balcony off room has incredible views of Ocean and sunsets.Rooms: Rooms are showing their age. But by no means would detour me from staying there again.Walkability: Beach Access and proximity is amazing. 100ft or less to the beach sand. And the ocean at high tide is right there too. Very Nice!!!Noteworthy details: Great Continental Breakfast!!!

Clean, very quiet, awesome beach view & access. Friendly, helpful managers. Older motel needing some TLC but it looks like that's in progress. Efficient, well-organized check-in process. We had a kitchenette unit that had all we needed & more. Door lock definitely had an attitude, but we eventually learned it's secrets & got along fine. We definitely will return!

I booked our room knowing that this wasn't an upscale/newly remodeled property. We were in town for 1 night. I was pleasantly surprised with the amenities. We had a full kitchen in our room. It was clean and sanitized. When we checked in, the woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and offered several suggestions for dinner. The view from our room was spectacular. We slept with the sliding door open and listened to the ocean. The bed was comfortable and had extra pillows, along with everything else we needed. We would stay here again.

Very friendly staff, great location, and clean. It s obviously an older hotel so it s not in perfect condition, but you can tell it has been well maintained over the years. The full kitchen in the room was a very nice surprise. It s right on the beach so we went to sleep and woke up to the sounds of the ocean. My only complaint is that there was no air conditioning. Being from the southeast, where it s hot and humid, I am accustomed to air conditioning. However, we slept with our patio door open all night, and it was actually really nice feeling the ocean breeze and smelling the ocean air. It kept it very cool. I would definitely recommend this place.

Drove 4 hours to get here, with reservations, but only had cash. They wouldn't accept cash. It was too late to go to the Walmart half hour away to reload my card. The chick at the front desk said,we can't stay without a card, no one can call in the payment with their credit card numbers, there's no where open that I can put the cash on my card, AND they will be charging me for the rooms anyways. If itwerent for my son having his credit card on him, she had no problem turning us out to sleep in our small car. While our paid for room sat empty. I asked if we could just stay the night and in the morning put the money on the card and pay up- nope. To me, that is the worst kind of hospitality I've encountered. Perhaps letting me know when I made the reservstiond? Also, we had no hot water the 1st night there, until we complained. And the bathroom floor is severely water damaged. It was squishy and sinking from the wall. The cont. Breakfast was pretty good though and the beach is right there. Dog friendly. But her lack of empathy and unwillingness to bend the rules one night to help us out iwas not cool.

The beach view and access is the only saving grace, which makes it a three star instead of two. The silver surf has really gone downhill. The beds were very uncomfortable. Lumpy worn out, thin. Lights didn't work. The stove fan didn't work. The stove filter was filthy. They replaced it when we took the old one to them. They also replaced light bulbs that were out in the kitchen. The bathtub water faucet wouldn't work. It was either all hot or a trickle of cold. No mixture. The help came over and mansplained we just needed to gently adjust it. But the issue was we were getting a trickle of cold water and too much hot water. What he had said we had already tried. But he wouldn't listen. The floor in the bathroom was soft between the bathtub and the toilet, it felt like we were going to fall through. Upon checking out , I asked if I could get a military discount. She said I could. But since I checked in using my card, it was no longer available to me. I felt cheated. The two nights stay with a small chihuahua was $320. Wasn't worth what we paid. Sadly we will no longer be staying at the Tarnished Silver Surf motel. The good thing about the management was they were quick to come and fix things like the light bulbs and the fan filter. But there was much more that needs to be done to keep this room up. The room was clean except for the stove filter. They also didn't charge us for checking out late. It was the time change so we had lost an hour and we got out of there at 11:30. Check out was at 11:00.

The property is beautiful. Great location just a few steps to the beach. We have been coming here for many years and have seen the new updates in the rooms- hardwood floors, new cabinets, and many items in the kitchenUnfortunately the room we stayed in was very outdated, carpet is old and damp, paint chipped, old cabinets and only the bare minimum for utensils. The bed was comfortable.If you stay here ask for an updated room- I just assumed all of the rooms had been updated.The staff is very friendlyWe are celebrating our Anniversary. Our fur babies had a blast on the beach

This was My first visit with some fam members that have gone off and on for yrs. They said it had gone down hill a bit. I just skimmed the reviews and noticed some said there are updated rooms, ours definitely was not. I think staff should have had more training or something about how things were set up prior. The gentleman that assisted us in getting the stuff we needed was very kind and had mentioned they had just taken over last week. If things were updated I might want to go again but the smell in the room,the one bed was awful and the breakfast that I heard used to be served definitely wasn't anything like we had. The only part I actually looked forward to was the hot tub and it didn't even work. They need easier access for disabled and elderly to get down to the beach. Paths with railings would be great. The best part was our view from our balcony and friendly staff.

This place holds a spot meaningful to me for a couple reasons. Stayed in cabin 42 and loved going to sleep being able to see the ocean and hear it! It has a small memory garden. Beach access is down a few steps and a few more across the lawn. Then a couple more and you're on the beach!Make sure you book in advance! They are fully booked sometimes for weeks before a room is available. It's worth staying here. It's one of my very favorite locations to go to.Picture is from the memory garden. The heating in my room was a joke, I was freezing the whole time and when I went to bed all there was was a bedspread and sheet. Not enough to keep me warm. There is also no housekeeping if you stay for more than one day, kind of unusual for a motel. Check in is at 3:30 so I paid for 2 days and only stayed a day and a half. Very unfair. Don't go there it's not worth your money.

Great find! We stayed in one their cottages. Perfect for a fam of 4. We had plenty of room! Beach access was better than I could have hoped for, super easy! Pool was clean and the perfect temp.Our cottage was clean and tidy. Comfy beds and couches.The ladies working in the lobby were the sweetest! We ll be back again!
