We just stayed a night here and were so impressed! Very nice clean rooms, friendly staff, and absolutely beautiful setting! We loved sitting on the dock of the pond and watching the ducks, so peaceful. Breakfast at the cafe west lovely. Tasted all home cooked. The coffee was also excellent. All for a very reasonable price. We will absolutely be back, hopefully soon.

We stayed in the Juniper cabin for two nights while exploring the area and loved it! Cabin was cozy, deck had amazing views of Winter Rim, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a great jumping off point for nearby adventures. The TV had lots of streaming options, too. The only thing we wished they had were screens in the windows of our cabin. Skeeters were out in full force, so we didn't want to leave our windows open and it got stuffy.

Love the Flyway restaurant. Great food and ambience but the lake with all the birds.Usually go for breakfast twice a month. Family owned so like to support local. They have a few cabins but never stayed but they have great reviews. Worth the trip not only for the great home cooking but the Summer Lake Marsh is right across the street. It has world class birding.

I can only rate the service as THEY canceled our reservation within LESS THAN 24 HOURS before check in (8pm the night before our reservation). They additionally never sent details about our reservation to my email, only a thank you letter (I had to go back to my webhistory and print the confirmation page). Beware that your reservation may not be kept and you may be made without place to stay day of your reservation. They do offer a phone number and email to contact if the cancelation was a mistake but I called the number 5 times in a row and never got anyone, only an answering machine that I left a message at, and emailed as I called, both with no response back in the following 2 hours. As I'm on vacation I only check my email morning, lunch and bedtime so I didn't see it until 10, but the answering machine states that guests have access to a front desk clerk after hours > WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN THAT NUMBER! Poor service, had to book somewhere else last minute. Glad that indeed their sign off is true: God bless. From their competitor at the Hot Springs we got a reservation for $30 CHEAPER, MORE AMMENATIES, AND an actual email stating all the reservation details. You've been either warned or notified of changes that need to be made, depending on who you are that reads this. Sincerly hope they fix their service as the lodge looks like a great place to stay otherwise.

The Lodge is just cute all around! The owners stayed late to let us check in when our room in Silver Lake wasnt cleaned for our arrival around 7pm.The room was clean and it had a view from the back window of a small private bass pond. The food was amazing and you truly won't leave hungry. The owners are just sweet as could be.Awesome little place!

Where to begin? This place claims to be dog friendly but there are no dogs signs all over the property and warnings not to let the dogs on the beds. or other furniture. You will be charged for pet hair on the furniture. There is also zero safety. The windows did not have locks and the door had only the doorknob lock. There was a chain on the door jam but no way to connect it to the door. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything going on outside and in the next room. The bed in our room was broken and every time one person moved the bed would about collapse. The bed had been poorly rigged and sat crooked on its own.The decor was from the 1970s and badly needed updating. The pillows were old, flat and terrible as well as the mattress and bedding. The entire place is just tacky with questionable cleanliness. I would not have taken a shower as it didn t look clean. There is also a general musty smell.Lastly, the most disturbing thing was the huge spider (body and legs about the size of a half dollar) on the bed frame. I m sure there were other unseen critters lurking in the dark. This was truly the absolute worse hotel experience of my life and I travel a lot. We only chose it because it was not too far from the Cowboy Dinner Tree but I would never recommend this place for anyone! I m still creeped out by this Bates No tell Motel. One star rating is too kind.

I was told from the beginning that there was no other rooms except the most expensive, and there s only one other person staying here in the room right next to ours, so I don t believe that. The shower was broken, beds were very uncomfortable, there s only one Chanel on cable, WiFi doesn t work, one wall outlet. Very old and outdated, especially for 120$ just for a single room with no updates. On the other hand the restaurant was ok food was hot. My daughters chicken tenders tasted like fried fish.

Don't go to the desert if you want to watch TV. This place is beautiful, clean and friendly. It is our go to. The cabins are great and the views from them are awesome. Oh, the restuarant at the lodge is great, all of it! If you want pancakes, they are huge, fluffy and delicious!

I didn't eat at the restaurant, not due to the pandemic but due to a personal disability that requires me to eat special foods. The cabins had an impressive kitchen considering both the size of the cabin and the fact the owners run a restaurant. It had a full oven with four burners, a large fridge, and a moderately sized freezer. Other reviews gripe about the TV, but I never turned it on, as there was a lovely wide window right on to the pond, and as an undergrad in fisheries and wildlife sciences I spent literal hours just watching the ducks on the pond like an absolute nerd. This may not be the place for you if you want reliable internet, decent telly, and modern decor, but as a person with multiple disabilities I was pleasantly surprised at how manageable my stay was. The bedsheets had been recently washed with unscented detergent, so for those with respiratory conditions that is a great benefit, although this area has naturally dry air (being a desert) so you may want to being a humidifier. There are wall outlets by the bed in case you need any assistive devices while asleep. The shower/tub has reliable hot water for those with chronic pain who want a soak, and the tapwater has no notable taste for those with sensory issues. However there are stairs up to the cabin, for those of you with mobility aids. The motels have a ramp up to them and seem able to be entered by a wheelchair user, although I assume counter height, ect, is set up for a standing person of typical stature. The wildlife refuge can be driven through if you are not given to walking much, however it is gravel so I suggest you drive slowly to avoid jostling. It's not a busy road by any means, and if you drive slow it gives you a better look at the shorebirds and cranes and weasels.I hope my review is helpful to people looking into this. I'm both fully hearing and fully sighted so I can't speak as to those aspects, but for those of you with dietary needs, "bad legs", or breathing issues, I can say this is a surprisingly acessible and kind place for being in the middle of nowhere.

Best apple pie I've ever had. It wasn't runny, but not dry. The crust was flakey and complimented the filling. The cinnamon and nutmeg were there but not overpowering and accented every bite. Outstanding pie that was right tasty and a damn fine piece of pie, if I do say so.

This was the 3rd time staying here, I love the place and the staff. It's quiet, it's home, decided to stay in the sage this time because it's small it was only the 2 of us. Very cute little cabin but aliile warning needs a new bed. It was the most uncomfortable bed. That's the only complaint all the other rooms the beds are pretty comfy. But the views are amazing.

We stayed in the Ponderosa cabin that looked right over the pond. One of my best stats 8n a long time. Dinner and breakfast was fantastic and very reasonable. It had to be because this is where the locals came to eat. If you go here bring your binoculars to glass over the hillside that dominates its look over you. I was able to spot a Doe with her fawn, quail and a pair of marmots. Very tranquil morning with coffee and binoculars.

This was one of the most disappointing, disgusting lodging experiences I have ever experienced. Upon arrival the grounds looked old but quaint and upon entering our room the dcor looked like it was right out of the 60's with old style bedspreads. When looking around the room there was cobwebs, spiders and it didn't look like the room had a good cleaning in months. The room did have a window type air conditioner which was loud and took forever to cool the room. It was a little unnerving to stay in the room overnight but we did.The next morning before checking out, our group had breakfast in the dining room. Honestly, first off I didn't get what I ordered and as I just wanting to get this experience over I took what they served. I would go hungry before wasting my money at this property again. If you decide to stay at The Lodge at Summer Lake I really hope you have a better experience!

Very remote, quiet, peaceful. Rooms were cozy. Thin pillows, short shower head, and one fuzzy TV channel are the only complaints. They have a pond there that you can paddleboard or fish in. You can swim but it's cold and has grass in it. Go to the Cowboy Dinner Tree 30 min away. We didn't eat in the restaurant since our friend's cabin had a kitchen but very nice people there. It gets VERY windy at night. Will stay again.
