Did a great job repairing the transmission on my 2005 Expedition and I couldn't be happier with the service that I've received there.

Took my vehicle there to get the transmission rebuilt, which they did at the best price I could find. Got my vehicle back in a week and was excited. But after about 2 weeks I started hearing a noise that was not there before my transmission went out. Took it back 4 times and they kept telling me it was something else besides the transmission. I took my vehicle to 3 other shops and they told me it wasn't what I was told by Curry's. Finally took it back to Curry's and demonstrated in my vehicle exactly what it was. Then I'm told it was what the other shops have told me. They finally fixed the problem and of course it cost me additional money, and the time I spent. I feel they never checked what was wrong with my vehicle when I first brought it back. They lied to me about what was really wrong with my vehicle after they rebuilt the transmission. Do not waste you're time with this shop. Never, never, never go there. I remained calm the whole time, but I just felt that they were giving me the runaround and thought that I was some uneducated customer. Also I would call them, and be told I would get a call back which would not happen. This is not how you run a business, no matter how long you have been in business. Hopefully my vehicle will run great, if not it's fool me once, but will not fool me twice.Service: Transmission

I took it there because my transmission was slipping. The cam shaft would be what triggered it but it was getting bad so the finance agency which was terrible as well told me to take it there. So I did. They had it a month. Then I only had it back for 2 hours and it went completely dead after turning upward on a road and over some rd tracks. They came and got it and three weeks later after who knows what parts they swapped or whatever they did with it for three, almost 4 weeks, again they say they can t fix it. So thanks for wasting my time. You are the worst shop I ve ever used. If you value time and money do not use these guys. They are terrible at everything.

Incredibly accommodating to me while I was traveling through NC. Unexpectedly needed a transmission rebuild and all while staying as a guest with family in Belmont. Took the vehicle in on a Tues and they had the work done by Friday the same week given my scenario. The price very reasonable. They easily could've charged me more for needing the work done quickly, but didn't even consider squeezing me on the price even though I'm not local and in a bit of a rush traveling home -- didn't want to wear out my welcome with fam due to car trouble! Amazingly fast and transparent the whole way and all this for an older model rarer car which can be tough to find parts for. More detail below:I'd bought a '95 Suzuki Sidekick on a Monday from a dealer in TN where I'm from. Took it into Curry's the following Tues. I was on the way to Belmont to visit some NC family before driving the vehicle back up to NYC where I live now. It never would've made it. The Sidekick has 153k miles on it, 5spd manual transmission, so I assumed it'd need some work but not SO immediately. On the 200 mile drive from east TN to NC I discovered it was leaking gear oil and the climb thru I-26 mountains was all the original transmission could handle. By the time I was in Belmont I only had a working 4th gear as the others had been ground to shreds. Here I am coasting into my sister & brother-in-law's driveway the same day I bought the old thing after only having 4th gear to work with for the last 120 miles! That's a haul. Next morning the tow truck driver recommended Curry's first thing when we got rolling even though I was planning to take it into Charlotte. Upon arrival Mr. Robert knew exactly what needed to be done, acquired the parts quickly, and more than accommodated the fact that I was in transit home & just staying in Belmont for a bit. So thankful they were nearby and could assist in a bind. Likely would've been double the price and longer wait elsewhere.Would highly recommend you take your transmission work to them. Support local businesses, they are the absolute best!

Professional, courteous, on-time and priced greatly. I never heard of this place but stumbled on it at work. Glad that I did. My truck runs like it's brand new. I recommend him to everyone.

Took my car here to have the transmission checked out and Mr Curry is not only extremely knowledgeable but is such a genuinely nice person. The lady in the office, I think her name was Angela (?), was very friendly, courteous, and professional. With the experience Mr. Curry has I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Great experience. Got my Accord back moving. Was doing just fine for a good 16 months before i sold it week before last. As a former army mechanic I really appreciated Mr. Curry coming out to meet me and advise on the condition of the rear main seal in particular and the general overall shape of the trans. He was professional but friendly. Would recommend.

18 month's ago I asked for my transmission to be REBUILT not replaced.. . They installed a junkyard transmission in it. Totally not what I requested or quoted for. NOT trustworthy, Get your work to be done in writing before you leave your vehicle there, and check their work when completed. I'm to trusting with people.

To start off, I needed an entire rebuild, so I removed the transmission myself to try and save some money. I called around and several shops would not touch it since I had done so. They said put it back in and bring the whole truck to them and they would do it, but the prices were more than I could afford. I called Curry and spoke with the owner Robert. He said it was no problem and to bring it in. He was very polite and quoted me a good price. I took the transmission in on a Monday and when I went in the office one whole wall was covered with certificates for transmission repair. I was impressed. I received a call on Tuesday (the next day) and was told my transmission was ready whenever I could come and pick it up. I reinstalled it and it works great. So in all everyone there are very polite, knowledgable, professional and on top of all that I had it done for a great price.

They stand by there service and and blow away the competition. My family has had there transmissions done here and friends. I had my truck done a little less than 2 months ago they not only had to do my transmission but they did the rear end to and still way cheaper than any other shop. This past week I've been noticing a noise and Robert took my truck back no questions asked and even gave me a vehicle to get to work and where I needed to while they were finding the problem on my truck. Would highly recommend you check these guys out before you go to anyone else.

I saw a few bad reviews that made me nervous, but everyone I dealt with left me very satisfied. They did great work in a timely manner, & kept their word on everything they told me. My car is running great so far, after a transmission rebuild. Thank you Robert, Al, & staff.

I do not think it is possible for me to write a review good enough to to reflect how pleased we are with Robert Curry's service. Our transmission completely failed us in the middle of a long road trip and we just happened to break down on I-85 about 2 miles from his business. The shop had closed for the weekend, but they re-opened to take a quick look at the problem. Realizing it would not be a quick fix, they quickly drove us to a car rental place before it closed and said they would contact us when they found out if there was anyway to get around needing an entirely new transmission (no thanks to Nissan for their experimental model). About two years prior, our transmission had scared us enough to have several shops look at it and give us quotes for a new one. This time, there was no delaying a repair, but Robert beat all of those previous quotes and thoroughly explained all the warranty ins and outs we were afforded by him and by Nissan. He also found prices for what it would take to tow/transport it back to our home and when he found out we lived in an area he would be visiting (3+ hrs away), he even offered to drive us back to Kings Mountain to make it easier to pick up the newly repaired car. After the whole ordeal and we were back commuting to work as normal, he called to check in and make sure the car was working smoothly. I don't think you can ask for much better service.

I would not recommend this shop to my worst enemy. They rebuilt a transmission for us and slapped a one-year warranty on it and it went out one year and four months later. We reached out to them for help and they have refused to do anything about it. I spoke to Hal or Al (who claimed to be the manager) and he said "I'm not sure what you're expecting here but I'm not going to do anything." When I let him know what a burden this was putting on our family of six he stated that he "deals with transmissions, not families".Our van was sent to them by Toyota of Gastonia so if you are getting your transmission repairs from them make sure they do not send it here!

Great customer service.. I had my trans rebuilt but the guy I had install it didn t do his job so curry had me bring the truck in and they made it right .. it s funny people complain they got a 1 year warranty and after over a year they assume it s still currys responsibility to fix another trans problem.. 1 year Is 1 year .. Great service!!

The owner was very rude and had a very smart mouth. He may be good at what he does but that is not the only thing that would keep people coming back he needs to be more respectful and nice. I'm surprised he has many customers at all

I was having a starting problem with my truck a week after the transmission was rebuilt. I didn't think it had anything to do with the transmission because I took it to several people and they said Probably the starter, so I changed it. Still was having the same problem. So then I took it to Precision Tune. They did a high end Diagnostic Test $90.00 Come to find out it was a Range Sensor that Curry's Transmission didn't plug in all the way. So I called them to see if they would pay half of the Diagnostic fee. He said wasn't his problem and wasn't going to pay cause I should have brought it back to him. Was I wrong for thinking it wasn't the transmission. NO... I don't think so... Good Luck to ya!!
